JANUARY 1st - JANUARY 11th 2014
(“Cat in the Bag”)For fear of letting the cat out of the bag too early, let me just say I haven’t forgotten about my Mash-Up Wrestling connection, I have only strengthened it. I look forward to the eventual revelation but for now let me just say the “clubhouse is back in business”. On with the launch of Mash-Up Wrestling Season Two. Let’s get right to the highlights: MATCH of the WEEK Gino Hernandez def. Bret “Hitman” Hart to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship (Main Event of WWE All-Star Wrestling 1/3/14) (A wrestling purists dream and technical masterpiece. Here in Mash up Wrestling it is another classic in a long line of WWE TV main events. WWE picks up the action in 2014 right were it left on in 2013 and steals the show once more)PLAY of the WEEK: CM Punk tells Kevin Steen to “MAN UP”! (WCW Nitro 1/6/14) (Another well crafted promo from the author of WCW who has quickly proven to be among the best to ever do it. Punk and Steen collectively pour gasoline on their raging feud that’s ready to explode at Starrcade!)-- WCW Monday Nitro (Man Up!) on demand -- click hereWRESTLER of the WEEK: Yvon “Le Lion” Robert (AGPW International Heavyweight Champion) (Now joined in action, following Robert’s title defense over Chris Candido on AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night 1/11/14)RATINGS POP of the WEEK: Undertaker confronts Rock to end WCW Monday Nitro (1/6/14: Man Up!) TAG TEAM of the WEEK: David & Kerry Von Erich (WWE) (WWE Tag Team champions and their manager Paul Jones were expecting a layup victory on WWE Championship Wrestling 1/11/14, but got the Von Erich boys instead. One Texas discus punch later and we could be looking at the next WWE Tag Team champions!)WOMAN of the WEEK: Sensational Sherri (AGPW) (After a few stutter steps, Sherri has finally found her footing in AGPW and comes up with a convincing win over ODB on AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night (1/11/14). Now Natalya Neidhart has Sherri in her Sharpshooter sights, and if the Sensational one can survive that encounter she’ll have truly proved her Canadian mettle).

January 12th - January 18th(“Age of Aquarius”) MATCH of the WEEK: Leo Burke vs. Dean Malenko (Submission Match) AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night 1/18/14 PLAY of the WEEK Viper strikes Sting & HBK (WCW Nitro) (Sting & HBK were so consumed with their own rivalry on Monday Nitro (“It’s Dinner Time!!”) that they forgot about the Apex Predator for one second. That’s all the Viper needed to split HBK open with the WCW championship and RKO Sting on the concrete floor! A strong statement from the champ Randy Orton heading into his title defense at Starrcade!) Speaking of champions, we have a brand new face of wrestling in the Pacific Northwest as Daniel Bryan took down the monster Vader in what could have also doubled as “Match of the Week”, if not for Dean Malenko and Leo Burke’s long Mash up Wrestling history. WRESTLER of the WEEK: Daniel Bryan *new* AWA Champion -- AWA Superclash 2.1 -- Mash up on demand (click here)RATINGS POP of the WEEK: Ric Flair steals the show (BCCW TV #36: Follow the Leader) The self proclaimed “Real WWE Champion” Ric Flair showed up in the heart of BCCW, Boston MA, and completely took the shine off local boy and BCCW Heavyweight champion John Cena. No matter how hard John-John tried to win their approval, taking it to the limit against Slyck Wagner Brown in the main event, “The Man” still left the fans chanting “WE WANT FLAIR!” to end the show. Flair’s appearance in the opening segment and subsequent Main Event announcement for New Years Revolution 4 scored unbelievably well, which is a testament not only to Flair’s popularity, but to the slow burn of the WWE champion showing up on BCCW TV after being banned for so long. TAG TEAM of the WEEK: BCCW 6-Man Tag Team champion Insiders (“Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers has his men the Miz, Matt Morgan and Test in fine fighting form as kingpins of the Northeast Illuminati and reigning 6-Man champions. On BCCW TV Episode #36 (Follow the Leader) the Insiders retained their titles over the Uso’s. With the arrival of Ric Flair full-time on the BCCW scene, it only makes the Illuminati even stronger and the Insiders more powerful. Who can stop their reign?) WOMAN of the WEEK: WWE Woman’s champion Bull Nakano (Credit to Fabulous Moolah who defeated Molly Holly on AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night. Plus Gail Kim and counterfeit Woman’s champion Trish Stratus, who exchanged cross over appearances in BCCW and AGPW respectively this week. But “Woman of the Week” is once again the reigning WWE Woman’s champion Bull Nakano, who defeated a very game Madison Eagles in a non-title match on WWE All-Star Wrestling (1/17/14). With Paul Jones on her side, Bull Nakano appears to be an unstoppable force. But as the closing brawl with next #1 contender-hopeful Melissa Anderson proved, anything can happen in Mash up Wrestling!)

January 19th - January 25th(“Trouble in a Two-Horse Town”) AWA & AGPW had the Mash up Wrestling week to themselves and delivered enough action to offset the build to Starrcade, Royal Rumble and apparent disappearance of MSD (more on that news blurb later) from the scene. The spotlight shines on the underrated new AWA champion Daniel Bryan and evil Illuminati branch Californication in AGPW simultaneously. Let’s get right to the highlights: MATCH of the WEEK: Vader vs. Michael Elgin (AWA Throwdown Week 4) (The kind of heavyweight slugfest the fans love and just the right sports environment to pull it off. The AWA is the all grit low glamour alternative to the rest of the star-studded Mash up organizations and puts out solid matches every time. On a night Okada debuted in Mash up Wrestling, Scott Hall hits a second rope Razors Edge and the “Masterpiece” Chris Masters turns on his tag team partner Mr Wonderful Paul Orndorff with the Masterlock submission, Vader & Elgin stole the show with their contest. Also with the glut of run-ins or DQ finishes on any given Saturday in AGPW, that helped make the clean finish to this Thursday Throwdown match even more refreshing) PLAY of the WEEK: Gary Hart takes on an Awesome recruit (AWA Wednesday Night Warriors Week 4) Manager extraordinaire Gary Hart continues his winning ways in AWA (see his man Vader’s “Match of the Week” victory above)-- AWA Wednesday Night Warriors Week 4 (Mash up Wrestling on demand) click here --WRESTLER of the WEEK AWA Champion Daniel Bryan (excerpt from AWA Wednesday Night Warriors Week 4) Daniel Bryan: I want to thank all of the fans who came out tonight, who have supported me and have come back to support the AWA. When I arrived in the AWA, and I looked at the roster of talented men and great champions that also joined this promotion, I knew that I made the right choice. This, without question, is the toughest, most competitive promotion in the world. When I was chosen to participate in the Heavyweight Championship tournament back in December, I was honored – and I have to admit, a little bit nervous when I saw the brackets. Let me say it again – I am surrounded by great wrestlers. And when the tournament started, I went into it with the mentality that every match was sudden death. Single elimination. One loss and you’re out, watching from the outside while your peers move on. I went into it knowing that an early-round loss meant the likelihood that a title shot wouldn’t be coming my way for a long time, if at all. I want to give credit where credit is due. Nigel McGuinness, Magnum T.A., Harley Race – what a road. Each one of them is amongst the elite in the sport, and to be honest, any of them could be standing in here right now, wearing this championship belt. Vader – what I just said goes double for you – and not just because you’re bigger than two of me put together. I’m sure we’ll meet in this ring again. I’m looking forward to it. Now, I don’t know who’s next. I’m sure that the AWA championship committee will figure something out and I’ll be defending this championship very soon. But in the meantime, I’m going to enjoy the victory, rest this beaten-up body, and represent you, the fans, as your AWA Heavyweight champion. RATINGS POP of the WEEK: Superstar Billy Graham sets the stage (AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night 1/25/14) (Appearing in his first match since his epic victory over Randy Savage at Mayhem in Montreal, Superstar Billy Graham opened AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night with a bang, and a victory over Canada’s own Petey Williams. Californication still holds all the Aces in AGPW, and Superstar Billy Graham is just the guy to lead their charge. With sights set on the International Heavyweight championship, could we see an inevitable explosion between the Californication Illuminati and Montreal Mafia? Canada shudders at the thought) TAG TEAM of the WEEK: Bad Influence (AGPW) (While they may have technically “lost” their match against Christian & Randy Savage on AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night (1/25/14), it was still a Main Event highlight of the week. Even against the combined forces of Christian, Macho Man and after the match, Leo Burke, the Californication branch of the Illuminati still rule the roost in Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling. This stable stands on its own even when the godfather Hollywood Hogan isn’t in town to bolster their ranks)-- AGPW 1/25/14 on demand click here --WOMAN of the WEEK: Natalya Neidhart (AGPW) cs314925.vk.me/v314925386/8107/-K1oFHFkIz0.jpg[/i]

January 26th - February 1st(“Another Fantasy Wrestling Renaissance”) Huge week in Mash up Wrestling as WWE delivers Royal Rumble and follows it up with another stellar week of TV programming. It was everything you’ve come to expect from the WWE; controversial, unbelievable and highly debated. Some huge landscape-changing developments we’ll cover on this show, as the Mash up Wrestling “Road to Wrestlemania” has officially begun. Speaking of controversy, and how it equals “cash”, comes Eric Bischoff and WCW with their most provoking episode of Nitro (#Control) yet. Plus a new Goat-face peoples champion has risen in the AWA and Mash up World champion Hollywood Hulk Hogan continues his rampant manipulation of AGPW. Meanwhile, the world continues to wonder “what happened to MSD?” after he no-shows his birthday party and vanishes for weeks on end. Twitter reports are scarce but scattered reports have him showing up everywhere from remote farm areas in Idaho to your grandmothers spare bathtub in the basement. While we await news of that development, let’s get right to the highlights for this week…) MATCH of the WEEK: Awesome vs. World’s Strongest Man (AWA) (In a huge week of action including PPVs and huge fantasy dream matches, I go with this unheralded sleeper hit from AWA Wednesday Night Warriors Week 5. Thinking back to such instant classics as Awesome/Tanaka from One Night Stand or some of Mark Henry’s work from 2011, I like the potential of this match. Plus I’m a sucker for two huge hosses throwing down in a rough and tumble slobber knocker! That seems to be a continuing trend in the AWA and I’ve got to say I solidly approve)-- AWA Wednesday Night Warriors Week 5 on demand -- click here WRESTLER of the WEEK: Mash up Wrestling World champion Hollywood Hulk Hogan (The Hulkster is still sitting on top of the Mash up Wrestling world with his Illuminati cohorts. He was victorious in his much anticipated title defense against Stone cold Steve Austin at WWE Royal Rumble. The win however was reminiscent of Hogan’s worst days in the N.W.O. as it was the result of mass interference and chicanery. Despite the screwy ending (somewhat offset by the surprise cross-promotional appearances of Miz (BCCW) and Scott Hall (AWA) while interfering), Hogan was able to hang with the younger Austin for 20 minutes of Attitude-era brawling and clawing. Rumors that Hogan pulled the dreaded “creative control” move prior to the finish are unfounded, but led to much internet accusation. Hollywood Hogan seems a lock to take the Mash up world championship into WWE Wrestlemania, but will Austin’s illegal Rumble victory stand? Despite the dearth of opposition from every corner of the globe, no clear opponent stands in Hogan’s path yet at Wrestlemania. Something tells me that’s just how the Illuminati likes it.)-- WWE Royal Rumble 2014 on demand --click here --PLAY of the WEEK: Stone Cold Stunner to WWE Commissioner Muldoon (The roaring bonfire that is Stone Cold mania refuses to be smothered. Not by Hogan and the Illuminati who left him battered and spray-painted at Royal Rumble, or by the WWE commissioner who announced the reversal of Austin’s later Rumble victory. We take you to WWE All-Star Wrestling 1/31/13 for that decision and Stone Cold’s harrowing reaction) RATINGS POP of the WEEK: Rock takes #control in WCW (In the last episode of WCW Nitro before the supershow Starrcade, all cannons were set off in the main event. In an 8-man tag match featuring an abundance of fantasy talent, Rock was revealed as the final entrant. Criss-crossing storylines and descriptive action from the best in the game resulted. In the end, Rock and Undertaker are ready for legendary combat while champion Randy Orton (despite bitchin new theme song adaptation) has his WCW title in serious jeopardy against HBK and Sting in the Triple Threat elimination at Starrcade! Bring on the Mash up wrestling supershow to end all super shows!)TAG TEAM of the WEEK: New WWE Tag Team champions David & Kerry Von Erich (The mighty Texan duo has risen through the WWE Tag team ranks like Tornadoes, culminating in their destruction of Demolition for the titles at WWE Royal Rumble. The Von Erichs went on to defend the title on the last Mash up Wrestling show of the month (WWE All-Star Wrestling 1/31/13) against the #1 contender Anderson Brothers. While Demolition may have left the Von Erichs lying at the conclusion of the show, horizons looks even brighter for the wildly popular champions. Von Erich fever has consumed the country)WOMAN of the WEEK: Awesome Kong (free agent) (There’s no official paperwork filed within Mash up Wrestling corporate headquarters to signify a talent switch, yet the woman of BCCW keep finding their way North to the Canadian haven AGPW. Following along in the path of her apparent business-partner “Top Shelf” Trish Stratus, personal protector Awesome Kong resurfaces with a fury in Canada. On AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night (2/1/14), Kong crushed former “Woman of the Week” Sensational Sherri while putting the rest of the AGPW woman’s division on blast. Nobody knows exactly where Kong or Trish’s loyalties lay, but it certainly involves a mass manipulation of all the woman’s divisions in Mash up Wrestling! Undisputed Woman’s champion Mildred Burke, though successful in title defenses of the past over Kong and Trish, must certainly be wary of this new coalition of talent hell-bent on dominating the woman’s fantasy wrestling landscape. Awesome Kong is back as “Woman of the Week”, but for how long? And where will she show up next?)-- AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night (2/1/14) on demand: click here --

I love the weekly highlights feature and I'm glad to see that it has been brought back for 2014. Thanks, Karl Hugo, for the effort you put into these. I love reading them and dig it when AGPW gets a nod here and there.

Special STARRCADE edition of the Highlight reelApologizes for the delay in my response, but thank you all for reading it. I enjoy reading such captivating material and I hope my feedback reflects that. I figured no place better to jump back into the fray than by updating the Highlight Reel for Season 2. We start with the biggest and baddest show of the WCW calendar year Starrcade XIX, a show so spectacular it deserves its own chapter in the Mash up Wrestling hall of fame. WCW Starrcade XIX -- mash up wrestling instant access -- click hereFrom the Starrcade XIX intro: MATCH of the WEEK: HBK defeats Randy Orton & Sting in a Triple Threat Elimination match for the WCW Title. HBK caps his incredible run in WCW with this heartfelt victory. Match was held under the much popular “elimination rules” as opposed to the Triple Threat one-fall variety of the WWE, and showcased some of the best talent WCW and Mash up Wrestling has to offer. Sting was eliminated first following 2 finishing moves from his opponents in joint succession. HBK and Randy Orton then wrote a clinic that culminated in an epic level Sweet chin music from Shawn for the victory. The Viper has been defeated for his precious WCW title. HBK may be soaking in the moment, but his 15 minutes of fame is about to end very shortly. Which segues way to our… PLAY of the WEEK: Illuminati on my mind, soul and body (Following HBK’s emotional and exhausting win, he is beseeched by the glory hound Hulk Hogan and his constant need for ego gratification. Randy Orton takes the opportunity to lay in one final RKO on HBK, laying him out for the count. Hollywood Hogan then completes the despicable display by spray painting an Illuminati triangle on HBK and stealing his PPV moment. Certianly it was deplorable, but it was also a huge impact by the reigning Mash up World champion Hollywood Hulk Hogan as WCW Nitro prepares to return to primetime TV. Hogan led them to heights unimagined before. Time will tell if Hogan will return to WCW and bring the World title with him. But for this one night, the Illuminati was definitely alive and well in Atlanta GA)WRESTLER of the WEEK: Undertaker (HBK may have won the WCW title, but he was disrespected by Hollywood Hogan. Austin Aries won a title while Legacy defended theirs. But the man who stuck out the most on this night was the Undertaker, who engaged Rock in an epic fantasy match up. This was prime Wrestlemania Streak-mode Undertaker, and whether this is just a one-off victory, or the beginning of his own Starrcade streak, it was a highly impressive victory. The scene of mutual respect shared between both men post match helped elevate the whole production. I look forward to seeing where both men go from here, especially with the fan chants for “one more match”)RATINGS POP of the WEEK: MSD smells what the Rock is cooking Still on his amazing odyssey to reach Moncton New Brunswick and his own PPV, that familiar BCCW microphone rapscallion MSD turns up in Atlanta GA for Starrcade XIX. His memorable exchange with the Rock is another cross promotional hit from the Mash Up Posse and one of the funniest moments of the year.TAG TEAM of the WEEK: Reigning WCW Tag Team champions Legacy (Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase Jr… and DH Smith??) (Well, somehow they did it again. The cultivated, spoon fed pretty boys Cody & Ted survive where others (namely I) predicted they would fail. Instead, they showed educated foresight could beat Chicago brawn on this night. Just as things seemed most grim, and Cody Rhodes sat perched in the Doomsday Device, another 2nd generation wrestler emerged to save their legacy. DH Smith, son of the British Bulldog, debuted by helping Cody & Ted steal a victory over the legendary LOD. It was a stunning upset, and while Legacy will be right back in the mix of things with a title defense against Powers of Pain on the next Nitro, they have now proven themselves to be betting favorites) (Bonus) MATCH of the WEEK: CM Punk vs. Kevin Steen (Three Stage of Hell Match) (we now take you to the 3rd and final fall in progress)

February 2nd - February 8th (Iceman Cometh)The month of February officially kicks off with a bang and a buzz in the air. The Road to Wrestlemania is picking up steam in the wake of Royal Rumble, MSD finally reveals the depths of his disappearance, and most importantly the first-ever UCW Draft shook the very foundation of the game and unlocked a whole new potential. All the while the Mash up wheel continues to turn in Atlanta, MN and Charlottetown PEI. Let’s check in and get right to the highlights for this week. Untouchable Characters Workshop official draft thread -- click here --
MATCH of the WEEK: Dean Malenko vs. Christian Cage (AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night 2/8/14) (The main event of this show featured an all-star bout between Piper & Yvon Robert, but a giant ringside brawl detracted a bit from the bout. On AWA Throwdown Week 5, Stan Hanson defeated Alexander Rusev in a brutish classic. Sammartino & Butch Reed fought for the TV title on WWE Championship Wrestling. But the winner of Match of the Week was an underrated sleeper from Dean Malenko & Christian Cage. It was a world-class encounter with a surprising victor. Dean Malenko makes Cage tap out to end his AGPW suspension) PLAY of the WEEK: WWE Live Event (2/7/14) The biggest play of the week didn’t even happen on TV. With the recent (as I write this) release of RAW: After the Show, I felt it was only fair to include a piece of “live” action from the Mash up Wrestling universe. This week, it was the exciting events of a live WWE show from Lowell MA on 2/7/14. In the opening bout, Zbyszko outlasted 20 men in a battle royal (last eliminating the Ultimate Warrior) to win a WWE title match later in the evening. Then, in the main event Zbyszko took WWE Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin through a 13+ minute battle that finally ended with an errant belt shot and a Stone Cold stunner. Exciting action and another reason why you can miss a moment of Mash up Wrestling programming, whether on your TV screen or live in your area! WRESTLER of the WEEK Ric Flair (“real” WWE champion) In another contemporary mash up of past and future events, Ric Flair has returned from his WWE suspension in style. Showing up on BCCW TV with the WWE title belt and claiming to be the “real world champion”. Even with his “enemy” affiliation and Illuminati connection, Ric Flair still cannot buy a boo against reigning BCCW Heavyweight champion John Cena. Interesting dichotomy there. While Flair may have been taken by surprise to have Sheamus answer his Open Challenge later in the night, he still pulled off the victory (albeit by countout) and is ready for Cena in a historic title-for-title match at New Years Revolution 4. Flair also stole the show with an introductory promo that put every other company in his scopes. Let’s cut to the highlights of Flairs speech from BCCW TV Episode #37: Polar Vortex: RATINGS POP of the WEEK: Untouchables return to BCCW On the same episode we learned the reason for MSD’s chilling absence (apparently he was lost in a “polar vortex” on the way to Canada), we witnessed the surprise return of BCCW’s favorite sons. First, Sheamus returned to answer Ric Flair’s open BCCW challenge. The ratings peaked for that finish and carried over into the main event segment where Muldoon & Crusher Casey arrived as Cena’s mystery partners against the Insiders. In one fell swoop, BCCW puts the finishing touches on their own PPV with a historic title-for-title match between Flair & Cena, and the Untouchables being granted a 6-Man title match against the Insiders. The Illuminati’s Northeast division may be suffering some serious setback at New Years Revolution 4! BCCW TV Episode #37: Polar Vortex -- Mash up Wrestling Instant Access -- click here
TAG TEAM of the WEEK: Miracle Violence Connection (AWA) Dr Death and Bamn Bamn Gordy represent the crème of the AWA tag team crop with their impressive title victory over the Bluebloods on AWA Throwdown Week 6. First they emerged victorious over a very game Badd Company earlier in the night, and showed great sportsmanship on the way. Then in the main event, they battled Regal & Williams in a typically-stiff AWA contest. Even with Layla in their corner and a champions advantage, the Bluebloods couldn’t get it done against the MVC. With no dearth of challengers on the horizon, the AWA Tag Team division is really beginning to take flight.
WOMEN of the WEEK: Mexican Canada (AGPW debut) From Live Events to online, we take you around the Mash up Wrestling universe. On this very special episode of AGPW Extra Explosives (available exclusively online) we witnessed the debut of two new talents in AGPW, slightly remixed to fit the Canadian theme. Let’s take you to some of the action now…

February 9th - February 15th (“Love, Hatred and other Human Emotions”)In a wild week of Mash up action, BCCW finally pulls off it’s delayed PPV showcase in Canada, Hollywood Hulk Hogan officially takes over WCW, the #YesMovement continues in AWA, and Valentines Day hangs in the air like a putrid smog. Meanwhile, Karl Hugo is suffering from internet lapses and intermittent connectivity but remains a Mash up wrestling stalwart nonetheless. I am an A+ player and ratings juggernaut! Now on with the Highlights for the week. MATCH of the WEEK: Daniel Bryan def. Harley Race to retain the AWA title (AWA Wed Night Warriors Week 7) [/span][/quote] -- AWA Wed Night Warriors Week 7 -- Mash up Instant access (click here) --PLAY of the WEEK: Zbyszko spikes Bockwinkel (WWE Championship Wrestling 2/15/14) WRESTLER of the WEEK: Triple H (BCCW) (The evil commissioner of BCCW gets the nod tonight for a historic return to the ring at New Years Revolution 4. In a battle of two of the biggest blood thirsty heels in wrestling history, HHH took down his former mentor and Mash up Wrestling Heel of the Year 2013 Killer Kowalski in a brutal Hell in a Cell match. Not only was his return a success, but HHH put down perhaps the last major dissident to his reign as Commissioner. Kowalski was on a warpath against HHH but in the end, after spending months destroying his own stable, Kowalski had nobody left to help fend off Triple H. The result was a barbaric battle with no true “winners”, only one survivor) RATINGS POP of the WEEK: Mash up World champion Hollywood Hogan (WCW Nitro Episode #8) (The man on top of the mash up mountain continues to make the rounds. He was in Canada for BCCW’s PPV, with more Illuminati big talk. But even bigger news was Hogan showing up on WCW Nitro (the post Starrcade episode) alongside Eric Bischoff. It was another brilliant political ploy by Hogan, as he knew Nitro ratings always spike in the wake of their yearly supershow, so now he can claim responsibility for that ratings increase himself and demand more money). -- WCW Nitro #8 mash up Instant Access (click here) ---- BONUS --WWE All-Star Wrestling Valentines Day EditionTAG TEAM of the WEEK: The SHIELD debut in WCW! (Beer Money had a great victory over Badd Company on AWA Wed Night Warriors. In BCCW, the Untouchables finally ended the Insiders reign as Tag Team champions, and the Funk Brothers are making waves in WWE. But the biggest tag team move this week didn’t even happen in the ring. It came from the stands, when the SHIELD (Reigns, Rollins & Ambrose) debuted in WCW to lay the smack down on the Rock! There were rumors Ambrose and Reigns might be on their way out of BCCW after Ambrose lost the Middleweight title, but nobody expected an impact like this, especially with Seth Rollins coming over in the UCW dispersal draft. Big things afoot in WCW as the Hounds of Justice are running loose!) WOMAN of the WEEK: NEW Woman’s champion Trish Stratus (BCCW finally presents… New Years Revolution 4) (So MSD finally emerges from his fog to drop what turns out to be a dud show. Not only was it late, he missed the mark with his attempt at “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” meets “Animal House” mash up. Especially with marijuana being damn near legalized in this country now you are hardly rebellious in your choice to cloak your work in THC. Time to move along my friend. You can start by changing your avatar. There was at least one bright spot on the show though, along with the Cena beat down by the Illuminati to end it. That was Trish Stratus finally getting a victory over Mildred Burke and ending her year-plus reign at the top. It was a screwy Canadian finish with a tip of the hat towards Burke vs. June Byers from years ago. Another historical moment mashed up in contemporary fashion. What happens to Mildred Burke now? Or the Woman’s championship after Trish claims she will never defend it again on American soil? Either way, there’s a lot to look forward to and this was an awesome ending to the entire Burke vs. Trish saga that began way back in XPW)-- BCCW finally presents… New Years Revolution 4 -- Mash up Instant Access (click here) --[/i]

February 16th - February 22nd (“Winter Olympics”)
MATCH of the WEEK: Wade Barrett vs. Barry Windham (AWA Throwdown Week 8) (In another week filled with big name stars and huge matches across the board, I am compelled to go with another underrated match from Throwdown Week 8. The AWA has been quietly putting out some of the hardest most intense matches on a weekly basis and this show is no different. I really liked the Mysterio/Jerry Lynn match from WCW Nitro but that ended with an Austin Aries attack, and Del Rio vs. Jay Briscoe from BCCW TV was an excellent technical bout. But I’m partial to big man slobber knockers and Barrett vs. Windham was all that plus a clean finish. Seeing Barrett lose was also a bit of an upset in my book, which made the overall experience that much better. Let’s go to the highlights of this bout) PLAY of the WEEK: The “Authority” comes to WCW (WCW Monday Nitro Episode #9 opened with Eric Bischoff introducing his new COO Logan Boggs and Terry Taylor as the “Authority”. I liked it when HHH and Stephanie did it in WWE, and I like the idea here as well. It’s a more streamlined version of all the old “corporation” and “powers that be” storylines. Here on Nitro, initial targets include Logan Boggs foe Kurt Angle and WCW champion Shawn Michaels. Though there may have been a wrench thrown into the Authority’s plans by some certain “hounds of justice” at shows end)-- WCW Monday Nitro Episode #9 -- Mash up Instant Access (click here) --WRESTLER of the WEEK: WWE TV champion Larry Zbyszko (The arrogant TV champion might have permanently crippled Nick Bockwinkel last week. This week, along with his manager The Grand Wizard, Zbyszko defied the rule of WWE Commissioner William Muldoon and decided to hand select his own title challenger for the evening. Let’s take you to the highlights for some action…)(From WWE Championship Wrestling 2/21/14) RATINGS POP of the WEEK: BCCW 8-Man Mega Tag & Cena’s Valentines Day Choice (BCCW TV Episode #38: Heart of the City) (Huge 8-man main event bout including the “return to the ring” of Buddy Rogers. Though he technically wasn’t involved in the match, Buddy’s presence was felt when he abandoned his team and dissolved the Insiders for good. New 6 man champions the Untouchables get a chance to show off their belts while Miz and Matt Morgan stay hovering in the main event picture. Sure Super Cena pulled off another victory, but the big ratings spike came in the overrun when Woman’s champion Trish Stratus showed up and was counteracted by Nikki Bella. Cena’s real life girlfriend is now his choice to compete in the annual Valentines Mixed tag match at My Bloody Valentine 4. Plus I love a good excuse to run pictures of Trish or Nikki. Preferably both.)TAG TEAM of the WEEK: LAX (BCCW) (Tough choice this week as I really love the Miracle Violence Connection in AWA and Demolition in WWE. But the lack of clean finishes this week made me settle on LAX who have been on a steady rise up the BCCW 6 man rankings. They defeated a variation of former champion the Headhunterz on BCCW TV Episode #38 and had some strong words for the current champions Untouchables. Homicide and crew are riding their controversial comments right to the blood bank in hopes of cashing in a title shot of their own)-- BCCW TV Episode #38 (Heart of the City) -- Mash up Instant Access (click here) --WOMAN of the WEEK: WWE Woman’s Champion Bull Nakano (from WWE-All Star Wrestling 2/21/14)

February 23rd 2014 - March 1st (“From Love to War”)
Another fruitful week on the mash up calendar. BCCW and WWE present free PPV worthy television cards. WCW fans are caught in the grip of Shield fever while another legend is poised to arrive on Nitro. AWA is in the midst of an unprecedented hot streak. Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling returns to action with an unbelievably stacked TV episode. This is mash up wrestling and I am your host for this evening. Let’s get right to the highlights for the week. MATCH of the WEEK: Gail Kim vs. Fabulous Moolah (Lumberjill Match) AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night 3/1/14 (BCCW featured two certified dream match classics at MBV4 when Dynamite Kid battled Gus Sonnenberg for the Flyweight title and Ricky Steamboat successfully defended his Middleweight strap against Alberto Del Rio. WCW featured an incredible cruiserweight contest while you know AWA has become my favorite for hardhitting slobber knocker action. But my pick for Match of the Week goes to AGPW for their main event Lumberjill contest featuring Gail Kim against the undefeated Fabulous Moolah. Let’s get right to the highlights)(Not only was it an exciting match, it also featured the show stealing appearance of Woman’s champion Trish Stratus and her bodyguard Awesome Kong! After teaming with Flair in BCCW to beat Cena & Nikki Bella, Trish has returned to Canada a national hero. She’s brings with her the Undisputed Woman’s championship and another level of credibility to an already deep AGPW Woman’s talent roster) PLAY of the WEEK: Illuminati runs the Coast (Hogan & Miz tear down the two #1 contenders) WWE Friday Night Main Event -- WWE Friday Night Main Event -- mash up wrestling instant access (click here) --WRESTLER of the WEEK: Nigel McGuiness (new AWA Intercontinental champion) (To join a belated discussion, I have only seen Nigel (aka “Desmond Wolfe”) during his TNA run against Kurt Angle and he impressed me in the short time I saw him. But perhaps never more so than on the Week 9 Episode of AWA Wednesday Night Warriors when he beat the incomparable Bruiser Brody to win the AWA IC title. With the rest of the Monarchy dropping some matches and titles going into tonight, it’s key for Nigel’s victory in maintaining credibility for that stable. He does that in spades tonight by defeating wrestling’s most notorious madman in a bloody slobber knocker. Huge victory for Nigel and that’s why he’s our “Wrestler of the Week”)See Nigel’s victory and subsequent discussion with mash up Wrestling instant access - AWA Wednesday Night Warriors Week 9 (click here) -- RATINGS POP of the WEEK: Bret Hart revealed as special referee (WCW Nitro) (In an unbelievable turn of events, Eric Bischoff on behalf of the Authority has signed a guest referee for HBK vs. Orton at Clash of Champions… BRET HART! The abrupt timeline clash and explanation of their respective motivations deserves its own highlight, as Boggs23 perfectly summarizes Mash up Wrestling in a nutshell. Observe…)TAG TEAM of the WEEK: BCCW 6-Man Tag Team champion Untouchables (William Muldoon, Sheamus and Crusher Casey) (After barnstorming back into BCCW, the Untouchables promised to clean up these mean streets, and started with a title win over the Insiders and haven’t slowed down yet. At MBV4 they took out the last vestiges of the great Insiders faction, and looked dominant in the process. Sheamus would go on to draw with Stone Cold on WWE Friday Night’s Main Event in one of the most memorable battles of the year so far. With Muldoon acting as Commissioner of the WWE, Sheamus has to be an odds-on-favorite to win the World title at Wrestlemania) -- BCCW presents My Bloody Valentine 4 -- Mash up Wrestling instant access (click here) --WOMAN of the WEEK: Undisputed Woman’s Champion Trish Stratus (Trish took the Woman’s title in Canada at New Years Revolution 4 and has been raising Hell with it ever since. At BCCW My Bloody Valentine, Trish teamed with Ric Flair to defeat John Cena & Nikki Bella in the Mixed Tag main event. Then Trish showed up in AGPW to put her stamp on the entire Woman’s division. Is the BCCW Women’s Championship now the AGPW Women’s Championship? And if so, does Trish just get to walk in here and declare herself the champion? Whatever the answers, one thing is certain: the Woman’s title has never been this hot or generated as much interest as it has now in the hands of Trish Stratus)-- AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night -- mash up wrestling instant access (click here) --Plus this is coming…

3/2/14 - 3/8/14The launch of the new Network approaches, and everything in Mash up Wrestling is coming to a head. The future of fantasy wrestling awaits, but first I will recap the past. My name is Karl Hugo and welcome to the Highlight show. What is the Mash up Wrestling Network? Mr Nitro the WWEFan explains it further on WWE All-Star Wrestling 3/7/14: MATCH of the WEEK: Lance Storm vs. Dean Malenko (AGPW 3/8/14) Am I biased? I’m not ashamed to say I’m an Iceman fan, and that bias may have earned the Great Malenko more “Match of the Week” nods than any other mash up wrestler. Nonetheless, I applaud Malenko & AGPW again for bringing the heat, this week against Lance Storm. After the bout, Malenko proved his ruthlessness by nearly crippling Storm and fighting with anybody in his way of becoming the International champion. Let's take you to some of the action now:-- AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night (3/8/14) -- click here --Honorable mention for Match of the Week: Daniel Bryan defends the AWA championship against Edge on Wed Night Warriors 10PLAY of the WEEK: HBK super kicks Bret Hart (WCW Nitro #11) (WCW champion HBK has a tall task on order when he defends the title against Randy Orton at Clash of Champions. Complicating matters further is the debut of Bret Hart in WCW as Special Guest Referee, with a future title shot against the winner. Complicating things the most? HBK superkicks Bret Hart to end an explosive episode of Nitro, and cast all kinds of speculation upon his championship match! Will Bret Hart call it down the middle? Or has HBK unintentionally sealed his own championship doom? Tune in to Clash of Champions Texas Shootout to find out!!)--Mash Up Wrestling Instant Access (WCW Monday Nitro #11) -- click here -- Honorable mention Play of the Week: Ted Dibiase dismantles Pipers Pit on AGPW Dynamite Saturday NightWRESTLER of the WEEK: Shawn Michaels (WCW Champion) Another main event performance for the Heartbreak Kid as he bests Batista in a thrilling contest to end the show. He also saved a Sweet Chin Music for his arch enemy (and the man who will be refereeing his title match at Clash of Champions) Bret Hart! RATINGS POP of the WEEK: Handsome Halfbreed & the NY Yankee (WWE All Star Wrestling 3/7/14) Gino & ARod continued their arrogant ascension with a victory over Mil Mascaras on WWE Championship Wrestling 3/8/14TAG TEAM of the WEEK: HoRsemen (AWA) Last week, Tully & Beer Money (HoRsemen) made an open challenge to any 3 man team that was answered on AWA Wednesday Night Warriors Week 10 by Michael Elgin, Rick Martel & Paul Orndorff. Despite the credentials of all 6 men, the HoRsemen came out victorious and built momentum in arguably the deepest tag team division in Mash up Wrestling right now. That’s why the HoRsemen are Tag Team of the Week) WOMAN of the WEEK: Trish Stratus (She’s got the Woman’s championship and she’s throwing her weight around in AGPW, even securing a match for her bodyguard Awesome Kong that will guarantee a contract if she wins. While dream matches against the likes of Moolah and Gail Kim await, Trish Stratus is busy fluffing her feathers and showing off her golden stroke all over the globe)

March 9th - March 15th 2014(“It was all a Dream”)MATCH of the WEEK: Sheamus defeats Killer Kowalski to end their blood feud once and for all on BCCW TV Episode #40 (Chasing the Dragon). The statement made by the Wyatt Family on Kowalski after the match is the exclamation point at the end. [Runner up for Match of the Week: Yvon “Le Lion” Robert defeats Dean Malenko on AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night) PLAY of the WEEK: Russians invade BCCW (The debut of BCCW’s newest 6 man superpower and the exit of Ryback)-- BCCW TV Episode #40 (Chasing the Dragon) -- click here -- WRESTLER of the WEEK: Stone Cold Steve Austin (For his stunner on Illuminati head honcho Toots Mondt on BCCW TV Episode #40)RATINGS POP of the WEEK: Gino Hernandez & Derek Jeter (From WWE Championship Wrestling 3/15/14)
TAG TEAM of the WEEK: Californication (More of a stable or faction than true tag team, Californication nonetheless wins this weeks award. On their behalf, Superstar Graham teamed with Bad Influence (managed by Freddie Blassie of course) to defeat the AGPW super team of Leo Burke, Christian and Randy Savage! The strength of the Illuminati can still be felt around the globe, even as Hollywood Hogan prepares to defend the World title on the grandest stage of Wrestlemania in a few weeks) WOMAN of the WEEK: Awesome Kong (Awesome Kong defeats Chyna to earn an AGPW contract)-- AGPW Dynamite Saturday Night 3/15/14 -- click here --

WCW Clash of Champions (Texas Shootout) Special Edition-- see the entire event with Mash up Wrestling instant access (click here) --MATCH of the WEEK: WCW Cruiserweight Triple Threat (Austin Aries defends his title and steals the show with a victory over Rey Mysterio and Jerry Lynn. The Cruiserweight title continues to gain credibility in the hands of the “greatest man alive”)PLAY of the WEEK: HBK super kicks Hart/ Hitman locks in Sharpshooter (Bret Hart was supposed to be just the referee for the WCW title match pitting HBK against Orton, but became a participant when HBK hit with an “accidental” super kick. This enabled a series of spots that culminated with HBK covering Orton for the pin. Only to have Bret Hart run him down with his own WCW title and lock in the sharpshooter to end the show! The HBK/Hart war is just starting a new chapter all over again in WCW)WRESTLER of the WEEK: Undertaker (His emphatic return to WCW was enough to influence the most important match on the card, the WCW title bout between HBK and Randy Orton. Taker wants the head of the Viper and nothing will stop him from accomplishing that)TAG TEAM of the WEEK: TIE A) The Shield (Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose are at the physical peak now with a win over Rock & Kurt Angle)B) Steiner Brothers (Became new WCW tag team champions with a win over Legacy that was somewhat expected. What was not foreseen was Dibiase & DH Smiths decision to walk out on Cody Rhodes)
RATINGS POP of the WEEK: Dusty Rhodes in Texas (His arrival was a genuine boon to the show and helped kickstart a face turn for Cody Rhodes, who squared off with his now-ex Legacy partners).
