Flyweight (under 200 lbs)
Television title (catch weight)

** BCCW produces a 70-minute block of programming on the Comcast Sports channel (home of the Boston Celtics) with ads for other Mash-Up Wrestling network features. This is pre-recorded footage from this weeks BCCW TV Episode, and is included in the DVD/mp4 resale of each event. Commercials come in top-heavy loads throughout and matches continue uninterrupted (DVD/mp4 reissues contain no commercials). There are strictly enforced TV time limits of 15 minutes. **
** BCCW Fight Night is inspired by UFC events of the same name, but also shares similarities with WWE Main Event (in that usually one particular main event match is hyped throughout the show). Tonight is 3rd annual BEST of the BEST Flyweight tournament! Opening ceremonies and 4 exciting Triple-Threat matches to get us started! Stay tuned! **
** Post match protocol calls for the bout winner to be granted a 90-second interview piece with in-ring correspondent MSD (like Joe Rogan in the UFC, or Larry Nelson on AWA ESPN classic reruns). **
** All matches sanctioned by Mash-Up Wrestling. **
THIS IS BCCW!! and this is "BEST of the BEST 3"!!

In the Mash-Up Wrestling hemisphere, BoB3 is the Easter Bunny/ Fjøsnissen of our holiday season. It is our stylistic nod to everything from WWE King of the Ring to ECWA Super 8 to Bellator to the CZW event we bit the name from. “Best of the Best” says it all. The single greatest Junior Heavyweight tournament in Fantasy Wrestling happens but once a year! That time is NOW! 16 of the greatest underground junior heavyweights in the game have been invited to participate. These athletes represent states, styles & organizations from around the world. This year, the key word is "POTENTIAL". The athletes chosen to compete this year are on the cusp of their excellence. This tourney will either make or break their careers in fantasy wrestling. It is only with the all-knowing prescient power of 20/20 hindsight are we able to compose a tourney of this magnitude.

** Match #1 **
Dynamite Kid (1984) def. BLKJeez (2011) vs. Jay Briscoe (2013)
To accurately predict such outcomes, we must take into account many variables. One of these most intangible qualities is the raw ability of each superstar. How good are they right *now*. The specific vintages I listed with each each superstar associates them with their purest potency. The raw truth stares at you hard when you see Dynamite Kid, fresh off his amazing overseas tour with the WWF Light Heavyweight title where he rewrote history with Tiger Mask. It pimp slaps you in the face when you see Urban Wrestling Federation-era BLKJeez, swagged out on your screen with his BLKOut/Phillyz Most Wanted/Rotten Wildaz pahtnah JOKER by his side. Or when that urban militaristic mind state is met head-on by #demBoyz, with Jay Briscoe’s accredited (yet highly controversial) ROH title reign fresh in the rearview.
Jay Briscoe hoists BLKJeez high over head in this explosive opening bout
This ability is on full display tonight as we get the BoB3 tourney started with a BANG. Hard-hitting, stiff and cruel doesn't even begin to describe the action. BLKJeez won this whole thing last year, and parlayed that victory into a run as the 1st ever Flyweight champion in BCCW history. So he’s here to defend his crown against these two newbie, whitebread impostors. He nearly does it too, especially with the aid of his gangbanging stablemate Joker. But brother Mark Briscoe is quick to counter him at ringside, and suddenly both of them are ejected from ringside by the referee. That leaves Jay Briscoe on the verge of victory, as commentators rail about the ROH title he never technically *lost* (he was stripped of the title 7/3/13, allegedly for an expiring contract or explosive twitter remarks). The Briscoe Bros are also no strangers no the BCCW stage, having competed in the Marciano Cup Tourney back in 2010. All these CZW scars are one thing, but so to is the grimy Manchester punk rock scene that helped birth Dynamite Kid. His growing momentum in BCCW came shortly after that magical evening of February 7, 1984, when Dynamite Kid captured the WWF Junior Heavyweight Championship by winning a tournament in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Recognized by the #1 company in the world and defended all throughout Japan, the JHW title helped propel Dynamite Kid to a new level of national notoriety. He's competing tonight in his natural weight class, and while drug & steroid use is still rampant at this time, the Kid's body has yet to swell up to unnatural levels. It is his innate prickishness and smashmouth offense that allows him to prevail in this chaotically cruel encounter. Piledriver/diving headbutt combo to BLKJeez finally gets the win, putting Kid strong over the most BCCW-credentialed competitor in the tournament this year. Impressive showing for Jay Briscoe as well, but Dynamite Kid set trends where others just follow.
Winner: DYNAMITE KID

** Match #2 **
Chris Sabin (2010) def. "Wild" Red Berry (1954) vs. Sabu (1995)
This is a battle of 3 of the most buzz-worthy prospects in Junior Heavyweight history. Each is known not only for their ring-work, but for the charisma they exude. Using these specific vintages, Chris Sabin comes to us tonight in the midst of his TNA title reign with MCMG where they redefined tag-team wrestling. A near-incalculable blur, Chris Sabin takes a high-octane offense honed on the Indy scene and turns it up full throttle on tonight's biggest stage. Not only is Chris Sabin a tag-team master, he is a solo sensation with at least 4 X-Division title runs to his credit at this point. But if there's one man that can match Chris Sabin's flair for the Xtreme, it is Sabu 1995.
Previously only heard about in hushed whispers, or from international tape trading, or from staying up ridiculously late in some obscure Northeast television market, Sabu is the glittering hidden gem of the Xtreme scene. With a body covered with scars from his FMW run as "Sabu the Elephant Boy" with his uncle The Sheik, he is an immediate & intimidating threat. Sabu exploded onto the ECW scene where he quickly became *the face* of Xtreme. But controversy quickly followed. Sabu no-showed a scheduled 3-way Tag Team title match and was very publicly (and messily) fired by ECW bossman Paul Heyman. Sabu was able to take his brand to a new level of awareness when he crossed over to WCW and began appearing (albeit short-lived) on their live TV shows with his table-breaking/ fire-throwing antics. Anything to get a pop, Sabu is willing to torture himself (and his enemies) to inhuman levels. Expect plenty of tables to break in this encounter. Sabu is savage, animalistic & downright hostile... but can he be tamed by somebody as equally "Wild"? Enter Red Berry, vintage 1954.
This guy was so involved in maintaining his character, he once climbed a tree and acted like a Wild maniac to draw attention to himself (he was arrested). Think Mos Def performing "Katrina Clap" outside the MTV VMAs in 2006. But Berry was no simple "wildman", he just lived in the days of kayfabe. In fact, he was already a boxing champion and would go on to carry the NWA World Light Heavyweight championship a remarkable 9 times. He comes to us on the tail-end of his wrestling career, but still bearing the NWA Arkansas Junior Heavyweight Championship (1954). While a remarkable in-ring competitor, "Wild" Red Berry is best known for his managerial run where he adopted the wordy, angry & nerdy style Bob Backlund would popularize almost 40 years later.
The match itself is a hodge-podge of styles, techniques & eras that can only be coined "Mash-Up Wrestling". From the air to the mat each man gets a chance to shine. We even get a space-age submission seminar, with every man becoming a tangle of limbs, and culminating with Red Berry's famed "Gilligans Twist" (Double arm pull with a knee to the back of the neck). It is only through retrospect, can we decide a clear winner. Sabu flamed out after ECW went out of business, and while he had a run in my beloved XPW, his next few years were low-key, until his brief WWECW revival. Even then, he was removed from the Elimination Chamber last minute @ December to Dismember, a decision that helped wreck the show and sink the WWECW branch. Wild Red Berry went on to manager such superstars as Killer Kowalski & Gorilla Monsoon. Meanwhile Chris Sabin would survive two career-ending knee injuries to win the TNA championship in 2013. In the end it is a combination of all this, when Sabu crashes & burns through a table, allowing Chris Sabin to finish Wild Red Berry with "futureshock". Appropriately named.
Winner: CHRIS SABIN

** Match #3 **
Flyin Brian Pillman (1992) def. Paul London (2004) vs. Bobby Fish (2013)
Great flyweight wrestling is like revolutionary rap music. The rawest, realest shit - and every once in a while there comes a huge groundswell of support for the movement, that you think the game has finally been elevated to new levels. One of those instances came in WCW as 1991 turned to 1992, and the future of wrestling was upon us once more. WCW helped institute a revolutionary new "Light Heavyweight" division that preceded their cruiser weights by years. It helped showcase a new style of wrestling ("new" to American TV fans at the time). The stalwart sensation they chose to help build the division was a young up-and-comer named Brian Pillman. Nicknamed "Flyin" because of his high-wire style, the BoB3 tourney (along with the LHW title he has held for the 2nd time) is going to be Pillman's launching point in Mash-Up Wrestling.
The kind of high-light reel wrestling provided by Pillman was a blueprint for things to come. Never is that daredevil spirit more apparent than in the form of Austin TX & ROH sensation Paul London. This man was *rewarded* with sincere chants of "PLEASE DON'T DIE!" from audiences familiar with his dangerous aerial wizardry. I myself witnessed this incredible fighting spirit when I saw Paul London fight AJ Styles live in Cambridge from ROH Night of Grudges (circa 2003), and I maintain to this day it is the best match I've ever seen from literally 10 feet away.
Pro-Wrestling has also been "revolutionized" a few times by the MMA movement, and here I've chosen Bobby Fish to represent that hybrid style. Why Bobby Fish? He's a former NECW champion (New England Championship Wrestling) and has been part of our little scene for quite a while. He fought his way up from national jobber status to reinventing himself as a gritty cage-fighter with championship credentials (he held the NECW championship again as recently as 2012, and the ROH tag straps in 2013. While technically not as "young and up-coming" as the other two combatants in this equation, Fish has nonetheless found himself on a new brink of national relevance. Only time will tell if he can elevate above the herd and find his own spot in the pantheon. For now, all 3 of them will have to settle for writing a Flyweight masterpiece between them. Up, down, over & out - with BFish's tactical striking helping to counter the aerial maneuvers of his opponents. Paul London is credited as a former BCCW Flyweight champion, and comes close on numerous occasions to getting the win (longtime BCCW fans cheer for him the hardest). But in the end, it is Brian Pillman's NFL place-kicking versus Bobby Fish's kick-boxing for the win - diving corkscrew bodypress from Flyin Brian picks up the pin!! 1!.. 2!.. 3!! All 3 men wind up shaking hands in a display of great respect, while Brian Pillman gets a chance to announce himself on the stick! Flyin Brian Pillman is in Mash-Up Wrestling!! And the future has just begun!!

Senshi (2005) def. AR Fox (2015) vs. X-Pac (1998)
Talk about attitude & outlaw spirit - look no further than our star-studded main event tonight. Chosen to represent "Lightning Kid" or maybe even "1-2-3 Kid", Sean Waltman instead chose to buck direct orders (violate a contract in the meanwhile) and go into business for himself: enter crotch-chopping DeGenerate X-Pac (1998), fresh off his white-hot crossover from WCW. Take that BCCW, and your "potential". X-Pac is also a decorated champion in Mash-Up Wrestling (see UCW Dragongate champion) and satellite member of the Insiders/Illuminati.
X-Pac is going to need that attitude tonight though when he collides with 3x Flyweight champion LOW-KI, and his menacing Rotten Wildaz entourage. Fresh off his gold-winning TNA run, Low-Ki has returned to his roots with an ROH Rottweilers heel turn (reflected in Mash-Up Wrestling by his "Rotten Wildaz" crew). Low-Ki's actions against Paul London & Gus Sonnenberg in the chase to become FW champion were unforgivable, like The Walking Dead's Governor, and Low-Ki has embraced his own dark code of honor. Add a little flash & sizzle to all that and you get AR Fox, the next best "IT" thing in Indy wrestling today. His runs through Evolve, Dragon Gate & CZW, not to mention series of matches with Sami Callihan and Ricochet have really cemented his appeal. We look even further into AF Fox's future and untold catalogs of classic encounters. All 3 of these guys are no stranger to weed smoke, so I'm sure they can picture this as clearly as I can! Classic Flyweight encounter!
Rude, crude, intense & borderline TV-14! Attitude Era, EC-DUB!, MTV Wrestling Society-X all in one! Fans get their fill, AR Fox has an incredible introductory bout to Mash-Up Wrestling, and X-Pac is at the hottest point of his entire career (before the most sincere "XPAC SUCKS!" chants you could ever hear from wrestling fans). Who is the best? Who has the most potential? Who has gone in Fantasy Wrestling Drafts no less than #1-10? (before WWE NXT) Why, that would be our winner tonight... Let the debate continue. Meanwhile, Ki-Krusher/Warriorz Way from Low-Ki to Fox for the pin.
Winner: LOW-KI
