Back live, Medusa Micelli is on the entrance stage. She recaps how she’s been sitting ringside for the past several weeks and texting notes to someone who has hired her to keep an eye on WCW talent. It’s someone she knows well and has a history with in the old WCW — the UWA Universal Men’s Champion “Ravishing” Rick Rude.
Rude comes out to the stage in a business suit with the Universal title belt over his shoulder. He takes Madusa’s microphone. “The last time I was seen here in WCW it was February at Destination Dallas III, hanging off the side of a helicopter after I whipped David Von Erich in a match he didn’t deserve to have. And ever since then I haven’t had much competition anywhere in the UWA. I called Madusa here and said ‘find me somebody in WCW worthy of a title shot.” She said there isn’t anybody in this hell hole of a promotion worthy. So, I just came here tonight to give Madusa what she’s got coming to her (sensual look). And let all you snot nosed, overweight, doughnut eating, Coca-Cola swigging Atlanta assholes that you will never see me in World Championship Wrestling ever again.”
Rude turns to leave with Madusa and their way is blocked by “The Prizefighter” Kevin Owens holding a microphone. Rude tells Owens to get his fat ass out of the way. Owens speaks. “My whole life I’ve been told I didn’t have the body to be a professional wrestler. I didn’t have the look to be a professional wrestler. I wasn’t chiseled out of stone like a Rick Rude. That I was nothing more than a snot nosed, overweight, doughnut eating, Coca-Cola swigging asshole. And while that all might be true. There’s something else true about me. I’m a fighter.”
Owens slugs Rude and they fight to the back. Madusa picks up the fallen title belt and chases after.
