AEW Collision - April 20, 2024
Cody - “Last week, I was home in Atlanta watching Collision and playing with my beautiful daughter; hanging out with my beautiful wife. And watching my freakshow of a brother come out to the ring and make a fool out of himself yet again. When I was forced to wear a similar suit and similar makeup, I forced my way out of that promotion and went on a journey to find myself. And I have finally, completely arrived. Dustin, you accused me of riding on our dad’s coattails. I’ll admit that he greased the wheels for me years ago and helped me break into the business. But that only got me so far. I had to go out on my own and show the world that I have what it takes to be the top champion. In the course of that, the fickle fans eventually turned on me. Apparently, they don’t like goody-two-shoes wrestlers. I just never expected my own brother to also turn his back on me. In one week, Dustin, you’re getting your one last shot at MY AEW World Championship. I will leave you bloodied and broken.” His mic cuts out and the lights flicker. A video of a cloudy sky plays on the screen, punctured by some lighting and thunder, for about 10 seconds.
Cody looks concerned and whispers something to Brandy, as they walk off and we head to commercial.

Match 1 - Chad Gable (1-0) vs. LA Park (0-3)
Gable wins with an ankle lock in 8:29.
—
Sammy Guevara is backstage with Tay Melo, getting interviewed by Taz, who asks about next week’s matchup against Brian Cage. Taz asks if Guevara is trying to skip forward a bit by fighting Cage on his way back to title contention. Guevara reminds Taz that Cage called him out. He’s taking advantage of every opportunity he can get, and as long as he’s got Tay by his side, he’s going to achieve all of his goals.
—
Match 2 - Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta (BCC) (1-1) vs. The Young Bucks (7-4)
Before the match, the Bucks grab the mic and demand that Goldberg reveal who his two mystery partners will be next week.
Castagnoli uses their pre-occupation to attack early. Partway through the match, Goldberg comes to ringside and jumps on commentary. Pat McAfee tries to get him to reveal his partners for Dynasty, but he won’t. The Bucks let themselves get too distracted by Goldberg, and Yuta grabs the win with the Yuta Lock on Matt Jackson in 9 minutes. Goldberg laughs at the Bucks.
—
Beth Phoenix is out to the ring next. She replays last week’s main event, which shows Willow Nightingale beating three other women in a gauntlet match until running into Phoenix, who is able to pin her. Nightingale went wild afterward and attacked Phoenix, knocking her out and helping Statlander to get the victory and the shot at the AEW Women’s Championship. Phoenix says she didn’t get to where she is by letting slights like that slip by, and she demands another match with Nightingale.
—
Match 3 - Luke Gallows (1-0) vs. Big E (10-5)
Gallows nearly has the win after a Gallows Pole, but decides he wants to teach Big E a lesson prior to the OC’s Tag team title shot next week. Big E fights his way out of another Gallows Pole, then hits the Big Ending for the victory at 10 minutes.
—
AEW TNT Champion Dean Malenko is out next with Jake Hager. He talks about how unfair it is that Wardlow has a shot at the title next week, when Malenko was trying to prepare for Logan Paul. But Malenko doesn’t want to focus on that. Instead, he wants to focus on his ringside guest for Dynasty: Shaquille O’Neal. We see a clip of Malenko guesting on Inside the NBA after his February TNT Championship win, when Shaq got to hold the title. Malenko is proud to have Shaq as his special guest.
—
Match 4 - Bianca Belair (9-3) vs. Velvet Sky (1-12)
Belair gets the win with the KOD in 2 minutes.
—
The True Bloodline is out next, ahead of Jacob Fatu’s match against Miro. Rikishi, in a suit, grabs the mic.
Rikishi - “This past Wednesday, our Black Sheep of a cousin, Roman Reigns, made his oh-so triumphant return to AEW TV and came face to face with Jacob Fatu. Consider this a warning, Roman: Stay the hell away from the True Bloodline; stay away from my family. Or you will regret it.”
—
Main Event - Jacob Fatu (2-0) vs. Miro (8-2)
Fatu gets the win with a Pop-up Samoan Drop, followed by the Mighty Moonsault, at 14 minutes.
