AEW Dynamite - April 17, 2024
As Jon Moxley is arriving at the arena, he gets blindsided by Scotty Flamingo with a lead pipe. Flamingo yells at Mox that he brought this on himself. The future is still Flamingo, but Moxley is awakening a darker personality. He walks off, leaving Mox on the ground.
Match 1 - The OC (6-1) vs. Public Enemy (3-7)
Gallows wins with the Gallows Pole after an 8-minute match. After the match, they hit Magic Killers on both members of Public Enemy until tag team champions The New Day run out to clear the ring.

FTR approaches GM JBL backstage to ask what he has in mind for them tonight. He smiles and says: Tonight, you’re in the main event against The Usos. The True Bloodline is on the verge of being a real problem here in AEW, and you can take the Usos to task tonight. If you win, I’ll get you the next shot at tag team gold.

Promo for Collision: AEW World Champion Cody Rhodes will respond to Dustin’s promo from last week, as they continue to march toward their Dynasty showdown. Chad Gable will be in action against LA Park, and Jacob Fatu will face Miro in the main event. Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta will also be facing The Young Bucks.

Match 2 - Wardlow (8-1) w/ Paul Heyman vs. Jake Hager (13-9) w/ Dean Malenko
As Wardlow is about to hit a Powerbomb Symphony on Hager, Malenko slides in and hits him with the TNT Championship to draw the DQ. Wardlow stumbles, then turns and roars at Malenko, whose eyes grow large as he starts to retreat. Wardlow moves toward him, but Hager grabs him from behind and tries for a German suplex. Wardlow spins around and hits one of his own. Hager rolls out of the ring before Wardlow can inflict more damage, and Malenko and Hager scatter up the ramp.

Video package showing International Champion Triple H training for his SuperBrawl match against either Stone Cold or Nick Aldis. He seems pretty pissed about having to go to WCW, but vows to come back to AEW, still International Champion.

Universal Women’s Champion Jade Cargill comes out for commentary for the next match, a six-woman tag team match featuring the AEW Women’s Champion and TBS Champion and their challengers for Dynasty. Coach asks Cargill about Isis the Amazon, and Cargill reiterates she’s not afraid of Isis, and that the Amazon has a lot to do to prove she should be in the ring with Cargill.
Match 3 - Sasha Banks, Kris Statlander and Britt Baker vs. Alexa Bliss, Angelina Love and Madison Rayne
Baker gets the pin on Bliss following a back-and-forth match at 10 minutes. During the match, Statlander accidentally clotheslined Banks, almost costing them the match.
—
Cargill stays out on commentary as Isis’ match is next. She’s facing Skye Blue in a tryout match for AEW.
Match 4 - Isis the Amazon (1-0) vs. Skye Blue
Isis decimates Skye with a big boot and leg drop for the win in 1 minute. Following the match, she beckons Cargill into the ring and the Universal Champion obliges, approaching Isis face-to-face and glaring at her.
Cargill dodges a headbutt and hits 3 quick punches to Isis’ gut, then a dropkick. Isis is unphased and grabs Cargill by the throat and hits a chokeslam. Isis then steps directly on Cargill’s chest and walks over her on her way out of the ring. She walks to the side and demands a mic, which she uses to challenge Cargill to a match at Dynasty. Title or no title; and she will crush Cargill.

Backstage, Jon Moxley is causing a commotion and yelling for JBL. He wants Scotty Flamingo in the ring, and he wants him in a match that will cause as much pain as possible. JBL backs slightly away and says he'll see what he can do.
—
Rob Van Dam comes out to the ring after the break. He basks a little in his reception before turning his attention to Mick Foley. He says he’d be honored to face Foley in the ring, but questions which version of Foley he’ll be getting. He wants a Foley with fire. The match is set for Dynasty.

Main Event - FTR (1-0) vs. The Usos (3-1)
FTR nearly has the Usos beaten when the rest of the True Bloodline surrounds the ring. This distracts Cash Wheeler and allows Jimmy and Jey to hit him with simultaneous super kicks, followed by a 1D for the win at 15 minutes.
After the match, Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa and Rikishi get in the ring and prepare to continue laying the beatdown on FTR…when Roman Reigns’ music hits. Reigns runs out, wearing a combat vest and carrying a chair (think old Shield gear) and he races down the ring to a big pop, as Rikishi is the first to leave the ring. The True Bloodline backs off FTR, but doesn’t leave the ring, as Reigns approaches Fatu. They go nose to nose as the show ends.
