Rey Haku lead his team of guerrilla warriors to the ring. He introduced them as his sons, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Hikuleo. He said they were not only princes of the Kingdom of Tonga, but trained guerrilla warriors, who served the very king who taught them how to strike fear in their competitors. They will be behind their father - behind their king - as he rises to take the one thing that proves you are the greatest warrior on the planet: the Lucha Underground Championship. Rey Haku said that he will take the title from whoever will be champion at the end of the night. But first, his sons will take their first steps to fulfilling their destiny, which is to show the world that they are the most fearsome, brutal luchadores in this Temple - and they will do that by becoming the next Trios Champions!
Not so fast! Rey Misterio Jr. appeared at the top of the Temple’s stairs with a microphone in hand. He said that Rey Haku stole his opportunity at a UWA Universal Men’s Championship away from him, so he was entering the tournament to steal the opportunity to win the Trios Championships away from his sons.
A blaring trumpet signaled the arrival of Dario Cueto, who stepped out of his ring side office. Cueto said that he gave Misterio two options last week, one of which was to compete for the Trios Champions, but he didn’t take that option. Misterio reminded him that the choice was to go directly to the finals. This wouldn’t be that. Instead, he is entering a team in the first round. Furthermore, he promised that this match would get violent because his team would be out for retribution. Violence and retribution just happen to be Dario’s catnip. He couldn’t resist. He allowed it to happen. Misterio pointed at the floor entrance, from where his trios teammates would appear, adding that his familia was here - but they aren’t only thieves. They lie. They cheat. And they steal!

Rey Misterio Jr. and Los Guerreros: Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero Jr.
vs.
Guerrillas of Destiny: Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Hikuleo
Eddie gave Loa the Three Amigos and shimmied before pointing to the turnbuckle. Hikuleo entered the ring and knocked him down with a running big boot. This brought Misterio into the ring by way of a springboard seated senton onto Hikuleo. Tama rushed in to attack him and Chavo came in to attack him. A pier six brawl opened up. Bodies flew over and fell under the ropes until it was just Loa looking at Eddie’s motionless body in the center of the ring. He went to pick up Eddie, but he was like deadweight. He kicked at him with his toe and he didn’t move, he decided to bend down to make the pin. That’s when Eddie came to life and pulled him into a small package. Loa barely kicked out. Eddie dropkicked him into the ropes and tagged in Misterio, who struck him with the 6-1-9. Eddie gave Hikuleo a slingshot plancha and Chavo entered the ring to cut off Tama with a spinning heel kick, leaving Rey free to nailed Loa with the West Coast Pop for the win.
WINNERS : Rey Misterio Jr., Eddie Guerrero, and Chavo Guerrero Jr.
Rey Haku didn’t retaliate. Instead, he threatened to get back at Misterio and Los Guerreros as he gathered his fallen sons to leave the ringside area.

Fénix vs. Santos Escobar
Fénix vs. Santos Escobar
Santos Escobar sent Fénix into the ropes. Fénix did a handspring, but couldn’t finish off the cutter as Escobar dropkicked him in the back. Escobar took Fénix into the corner and put him on the top turnbuckle. He went up to the top rope and gave Fénix a frankensteiner, but he used his athleticism to land on his feet. Fénix gave Escobar a superkick that sent him into the turnbuckles and followed it with a springboard spinning back kick. He put Escobar on the top rope and was kicked away. Escobar hit a diving crossbody into a lateral press for a 2-count. Escobar lifted Fénix into a fireman’s carry but when he tried to execute the Thrill of the Hunt (phantom driver), Fénix countered with a crucifix bomb. Fénix ran at Escobar, who went for a clothesline. Fénix ducked it and caught Escobar by surprise with a tiger feint hook kick, which he followed with a bridging O’Connor roll to get the 3-count.
WINNER : Fénix
Santos Escobar kicked out late and questioned the referee’s decision as Fénix celebrated his win. As Fénix came down from the turnbuckles, Escobar attacked him with a hard clothesline and started stomping on him. Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro came to the ring, and for a moment it looked like they were coming to save Fénix, but instead they joined the assault. Moments later, Aero Star and Drago rushed to the ring. Drago had nunchucks in hand, and that was effective for clearing the ring.

Back in the Lucha Underground locker room, Lince Dorado approached Gran Metalik and told him the good news. Lince Dorado spoke to Dario Cueto and got them into the Trios Championship tournament. But there is one problem. Their match is next and they still need another partner to join them in their trio.
That was when El Generico appeared. He said he couldn’t help overhearing them from the other side of the bank of lockers and said that he was the answer to their problems. He is so excited about being in Lucha Underground. After having his first match last week, he is ready to compete for a championship. Gran Metalik asked him, “Didn’t you lose in your debut?” That’s neither here nor there. The point is that they need a partner to help them win the Trios Championships and he needs partners to help him win the Trios Championships - so they’re a match made in heaven! El Generico shook their hands, and said, “Our journey to the Trios Championships starts tonight!” before singing, “Olé! Olé, olé, olé!” on his way out of the locker room.

We enter a cemetery at night. There is a low hanging fog. We focus on a row of headstones, panning by slowly until the names become more recognizable: “Ultimate Warrior,” “Damien Priest,” “Catrina.” Standing at the foot of Catrina’s grave, illuminated by the glow of the moonlight is the Man of a Thousand Deaths. He is silent. His body language reveals no emotion.
“Of all your victims, this one hurts the most, doesn’t it?
A left arm reaches around his back, and a left hand lands on his left shoulder. He turns his head to the right and looks the man in his eyes.
“Mourn no more, my friend. She was a false prophet. I, on the other hand, have the power to deliver you to your salvation. I am your Messiah.”
