AEW Rampage
Dec. 1, 2023
Bill Goldberg’s music starts the show and the former World Champion takes his time coming to the ring. “I’ve been in AEW for a year, and I’ve tried exerting my will and dominating here just like I have everywhere else. I came here on a mission to end Cody Rhodes’ reign and, ultimately, his career. I got halfway there, and then a funny thing happened: Cody earned my respect.” He takes a break as the crowd chants for Cody, and Goldberg nods his head. “I may have failed in that goal, but I have some other unfinished business now: Kenny Omega. First, I was pissed because you couldn’t beat Cody, but I could have let that slide. Then you and your little buddies cost me at Full Gear. You don’t know the beast you’ve awoken. Omega? You’re NEXT!”

Match 1 - Dean Malenko (12-13) vs. Dustin Rhodes (5-4)
Malenko defeats Rhodes with the Texas Cloverleaf following a match where he got the upper hand by poking Rhodes in the eyes and used the ropes for leverage multiple times. Match time: 10 minutes. On his way back up the ramp, Malenko spies a young fan wearing a Rey Mysterio mask. He goes over and yells at the boy that Mysterio is a fraud and Malenko is going to send him packing as the loser he always has been. Malenko rips the mask off the boy’s head, tosses it on the ground and stomps on it as the crowd boos.

Jeff Cobb heads to the ring next and says he’s been asked why he turned on Matt Riddle after a year of friendship. It’s simple, Cobb says: Riddle doesn’t take life seriously enough for him. This brings out Riddle, on his scooter, with a bouquet of flowers. Riddle says he still wants to be friends. Cobb tells him he just doesn’t get it, so Cobb is going to show him. Cobb attacks with surprising speed. He smashes Riddle’s scooter over his head and delivers the Tour of Islands. Cobb keeps up the sustained attack, with more Tours of the Islands; he puts Riddle through the announce table and more. After a lengthy beatdown, Rob Van Dam finally runs out to put a stop to it. Cobb says his fight isn’t with RVD and he storms off. RVD checks on Riddle and calls for a stretcher.

Tony Khan appears on the screen and says he has two special announcements: First, AEW Rampage is going away…and will be replaced with AEW Collision, which will air for two hours every Saturday night. With AEW continuing to expand, the company needed more time to give every wrestler more time to shine.
Collision will debut in January 2024, and will kick off with the Owen Hart Cup, a tournament that will crown a men’s and women’s cup champion during tournaments that will take place largely on Collision.

Main Event - TBS Championship - Sasha Banks © (13-3) vs. Willow Nightingale (8-6)
Nightingale gives her all to try to win the match, but can’t seem to put Banks away. About halfway through the match, The Beautiful People come out and surround the ring. Banks gets the win with the Bank Statement after a 12-minute match.
The Beautiful People pounce on Banks immediately following the match. Bliss hits her with the Twisted Bliss, then the other three Beautiful People lift Banks up, while Bliss holds the TBS Championship in front of her. Bliss says this little piece of jewelry will look pretty good around her own waist. She’s coming for it. Nightingale recovers and comes to Banks’ rescue, as the heels scatter and the show comes to an end.
