The show opens with footage of the New Foundation winning the UWA Universal Tag Team Titles at the recent supershow. Because of that, the already booked match between the New Foundation and the nWo has been made a title bout. We then get a pre-taped promo of Hart and Neidhart talking about their surprise, but well-deserved victory and how they asked to put the belts up, because they want to be fighting champions and they want their first defense in WCW.

Promo from L.A. Knight on the upcoming ladder match with Bret Hart for the WCW Wild Card Title. He doesn’t need the nWo at ringside. L.A. Knight stands on his own two feet unless he’s taking those feet and kicking Bret in the face with them. Tonight he’s going to climb that ladder, just like he’s climbed the ladder of success here in WCW and when he looks down from both perches he sees the same thing, a lowly Bret Hart who just can’t keep up anymore and that’s just a fact of life.

Number One Contender for the WCW Women’s Title
“The Queen” Charlotte Flair vs. “The Unstoppable” Thunder Rosa
Referee: Molly Holly
Flair moves out of the way of a diving double stomp, kips up and lays in the chops to drive Rosa back to the near corner. Cross corner whip leads to a face wash. Flair brings Rosa out of the corner with an overhead belly to belly suplex. She whiffs on the Natural Selection and Rosa fires off a jumping neckbreaker. She goes for the Fire Thunder Driver, but Flair fights out into an inverted DDT, but Rosa twists out of that and gets a thrust kick followed by a jumping heel kick. Complete Shot to the Koji Clutch, but Flair fights to the ropes for the break. As they stand, Flair flips Rosa over the ropes to the apron. Rosa nails Flair with a forearm to the mouth and slingshots back into the ring, only to eat a big boot. Shinbreaker leads to the Figure Eight and Rosa taps out.
Winner: Charlotte Flair by submission via Figure Eight at 10:03.

Promo from Bret Hart telling L.A. Knight he needs the nWo more than he needs the Hart Foundation. Ladder matches are his thing. A lot of people might not know it, but Bret was having ladder matches in Canada before Knight was a twinkle in his daddy’s eye. Hulk Hogan then comes in and tells Hart he’ll make sure the nWo stays away from ringside. Hart tells Hogan to just patrol the backstage area and let him handle everything out there in the ring.

Ladder Match for the WCW Wild Card Title
All nWo and Hart Foundation members banned from ringside
L.A.Knight © vs. Bret “The Hitman” Hart
No Referee
Hart gives Knight the Sharpshooter through the ladder. He has it for a while, but lets it go so he can climb. Knight has enough in him to push the ladder over and Hart crotches himself on the top rope. Knight uses the ladder as a battering ram to knock Bret to the floor. Knight tries to climb, but his legs are weak. Bret gets back on the apron, but Knight catapults the ladder into him to knock him back to the floor. Knight starts to climb slowly, but Hart knocks him off the ladder with a seated top rope dropkick. Hart with his pendulum backbreaker and he climbs. Knight brings him off in an electric chair and turns it into a wheelbarrow face jam. He climbs.
Hulk Hogan emerges from the back. He’s not a member of the nWo or Hart Foundation, so he can be at ringside. Knight rocks Hart with a back elbow to the back of the head and hits a jumping neckbreaker. Burning Hammer onto a ladder. Knight climbs. Hogan tries to revive Bret who comes too and shoves Hogan. Hulk tries to let Hart know he’s trying to help him and he needs to stop Knight, but it’s more of a distraction and Knight recovers the belt. Hart shoves Hogan again and walks off while Knight celebrates on the ladder.
Winner and still WCW Wild Card Champion: L.A. Knight by belt retrieval at 20:47.

Dusty Rhodes cuts a promo for the main event “Steve Austin, I might not be as stunning as you. My belly might be a little big. My hiney might be a little big. I might not be as fast as you. I might not even be as good of a pure rassler as you. But, one thing the Dream’s got you don’t Austin, is heart. A heart that doesn’t quit. A heart that won’t stop. A heart that won’t stop pumping until there’s no blood left in Big Dust to pump anymore, daddy. Austin you might always be stunning, but I’ll always be the American Dream.”

The Ultimate Warrior vs. Kurt Angle
Referee: The Warrior Gods
Kurt Angle is seen floating in space and hears the disembodied voice of the Ultimate Warrior telling him the Warrior gods have chosen to judge them both to determine who is the Ultimate Ultimate. Angle then lands on a red, barren planet that looks like Mars. Warrior appears out of nowhere with a flying clothesline. He does the Gorilla Press on Angle and then goes for the splash, but lands on knees. Angle comes up with a handful of red dust and throws it in Warrior’s eyes. Warrior prays to the Warrior gods somewhere in the heavens. Angle smashes a rock into the Warrior. Angle with a double chicken wing face buster into the dirt. Angle gets Warrior up for an Angle Slam and goes over to a boulder to bash Warrior on it. Warrior flips out, kicks Angle in the gut and suplexes him. Warrior lays Angle on the boulder and climbs up to an overhanging cliff. He does a splash off and misses. Angle locks Warrior in a rear naked choke and he eventually dissolves like Thanos doing the snap in the Avengers movie. We then hear a disembodied voice telling Angle to rise and be born anew to be returned to earth. We see Angle with Warrior’s face paint and tassels. He’s now…The Ultimate Olympian.

Steve Austin cut a promo for the main event. “Dusty Rhodes, you say you’ve got heart. I’m going to put my hand down your throat, rip your damn heart out and stomp it under my wrestling boot. I’m going to stomp a mudhole in your heart and walk it dry. We’re both from Texas and you know what they say, there are only two things that come from Texas. And I’m a prized steer, damn straight, so I think we all know what that makes you. And that’s the bottom line because Stunning Steve said so.”

SoCal Val tries to catch Bret Hart, but he waves her off. Hulk Hogan tries to talk to Bret, but Hart shoves a finger in his face. He doesn’t need Hogan’s so-called “help” and doesn’t want it. It hasn’t helped him a damn bit so far. First, Bret felt guilty about Hogan being forced to retire from their previous match. Then he pitied Hogan. But, now, he’s just a pathetic punk that doesn’t know when to leave. Hart storms off and Hogan looks devastated.

But, he’s also showing some of that old nWo spirit in his comments against Hogan. Hart needs to come see Knight on Nitro, he might have something for him and holds up the nWo shirt to the camera.
