WCW Monday Nitro episode 42 for 11.06.23
Live from the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine
Commentary: Gorilla Monsoon and Wade Barrett
Ring Announcer: Gary Michael Cappetta
Interviewer: SoCal Val
Referees: Tommy Young, Joey Marella and Molly Holly
The show starts out with the nWo and Stud Stable in the ring. Steve Austin and L.A. Knight do a mock Mega Powers handshake. They’re not allies, but each stable has agreed to stay out of the other one’s way. They’ve all got a lot of gold and they can make their own rules here in WCW.
Shane McMahon comes out and he doesn’t like how Austin and Knight won their title matches the night before at Halloween Havoc, so he books a tag match for the main event of Austin and Knight vs. Nick Aldis and, the only man to have success against either stable at Halloween Havoc, Dusty Rhodes. Bret Hart can’t compete tonight due to injuries from Havoc.

During the break both factions go to leave the ring. The Southern Boys of Steve Armstrong and Tracy Smothers come out and challenge any two nWo members to a match, because the nWo has interrupted two Nitro matches in a row for them.
Will Hobbs and Killer Kross of the nWo defeated the Southern Boys by pinfall of Hobbs on Armstrong via rotating spinebuster at 6:05.

In the back Col. Robert Fuller is talking to Bobby Roode. He might have lost to Dusty Rhodes last night, but that’s okay. They’ve got bigger fish to fry. Roode is the only one without gold in the Stud Stable and he needs to claim some. Fuller wants Roode to target Nick Aldis and the WCW U.S. Title.

The next pay-per-view is hyped. Capital Combat on Nov. 26 from the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C.

Mickie James is in the ring and says she came back out to explain her actions last night at Halloween Havoc. She wasn’t going to hitch her wagon to Aldis again. If James is going to be with any man in WCW, it might as well be the world champion. Steve Austin might be Stone Cold, but he’s also always been stunning.
Madusa Micelli then marches to the ring, a referee shows up and a bell sounds, but James seems surprised as to what is going on. Monsoon on commentary says Madusa was once managed by Robert Fuller, but was seemingly phased out of the Stud Stable and now James has taken her place.
Madusa Micelli wins by count out over Mickie James at 5:43. Madusa catches James’ leg on a Mick-Kick and delivers a Dragon Screw leg whip. James sides to the floor and walks away. Micelli yells at her to come back, but James throws up her hands, she is done with her.

L.A. Knight is talking with Mike Bennett in the back. Everyone in the nWo has a title belt, but they can always use more hardware. They are saying Bennett is the weak link in the nWo and he needs to prove himself. Who is they? You know, they. Doesn’t matter. Bennett needs to take the U.S. Title off of Nick Aldis.

“Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels defeated “Latino Heat” Eddie Guerrero by pinfall at 12:32 via Last Rites and some interference by Frankie Kazarian. The Eliminators run out after the match and brawl off with Bad Influence.

SoCal Val has Magnum TA on the interview stage. Chris Jericho might have beaten him at Halloween Havoc, but it’s not over between them yet. It’s convenient that Jericho isn’t at Nitro tonight, using his being UWA Universal Men’s Championship as an escape clause. Well, there is no escaping Magnum TA and Jericho’s title reign will be coming to an end soon, one way or another.

Brian Pillman Jr. with Brian Pillman Sr. defeated Ricky Morton with Robert Gibson by pinfall at 9:45. The older Pillman grabs Morton’s leg from the floor on a crisscross, making him stumble into a flying crossbody by the younger Pillman for the win. Gibson comes over and complains. Pillman Jr. wants to know what happened, but his dad just drags him to the back and says don’t worry about it.

SoCal Val has the mystery man seen at ringside recently during William Regal matches. He reveals himself to be Charlie Dempsey and his mother just recently revealed to him that his father is William Regal, who had a one-night stand with his mother years ago. All he wants to be is a part of his dad’s life and, to encourage that, he’s been training to wrestle.
William Regal and David Taylor come out. Regal tells Dempsey that whatever his mother told him is a lie. He’s not his father. Now, did Regal have a one-night stand with Dempsey’s mom at some point, maybe, who knows, there have been a lot of ladies who wanted to get with his Lordship over the years. He just needs to go home now and cut his losses before he embarrasses himself worse. Taylor wants to teach Dempsey a lesson in the ring, but Regal waves him off. However, this is Dempsey’s last warning. Don’t show up again next week.

Tessa Blanchard defeated Amber Nova by pinfall at 3:11 via Buzzsaw DDT. Lady Frost comes out and hypes her OnlyFans Page, something Tessa Blanchard doesn’t have because nobody wants to see her in the bedroom. Where she belongs is the bathroom, drinking out of the toilet like the dog she is. Frost does a strip tease, but Blanchard runs to the entrance stage and scares Frost off.

Chiseled and Grizzled of Ronnie Garvin and Sam Houston are with SoCal Val on the interview stage. The WCW World Tag Team Champions of Pretty Wonderful took a weak way out last night at Halloween Havoc. Garvin had the win and Hennig pulled him to the floor. They got the win, but not the titles. Curt Hennig and Paul Orndorff then come out. Hennig said they wrestle smarter, not harder and wins and losses don’t count, who holds the title belts is all that matters. Garvin challenges them to a rematch. Hennig says okay, but only if Garvin can beat him next week. And if he does win, Chiseled and Grizzled can even name their own stipulation.

Rhea Ripley defeated Kamille Kaine to become number one contender for the WCW Women’s Title by pinfall via Riptide at 14:21. The women were put into this match since they both won the night before at Halloween Havoc.
Charlotte Flair comes out to the entrance stage with a microphone. She’s got nothing against Rhea Ripley, but the WCW Women’s Title is hers to win back. Thunder Rosa then comes out and tells Flair to get to the back of the line. Flair thinks that’s funny coming from the woman who lost the U.S. Women’s Title and hasn’t been able to win it back. Oh, Flair wants to talk about losing titles and not winning them back. They both had their shots at Halloween Havoc and now they both need to earn them again. The Queen doesn’t have to earn anything, she takes what she wants. She then attacks Rosa and they fight.

We get a vignette of Kurt Angle wandering through the desert of Parts Unknown. Suddenly he sees an oasis, it could be a mirage, but he runs for it and starts drinking out of the water. Angle notices something odd and looks around him and as the camera pulls out we notice the oasis pond and the palm trees around it form the Warrior logo. We hear the disembodied voice of the Warrior. “Drink from the water of my generosity, Kurt Angle. Seek shelter from the trees of my nobility, Kurt Angle. Your journey through Parts Unknown is of a 1,000 steps, but it begins with just one, Kurt Angle. The one of the one Warrior.”

“American Dream” Dusty Rhodes and “National Treasure” Nick Aldis defeated L.A. Knight and “Stunning” Steve Austin with Col. Robert Fuller by pinfall of Rhodes on Austin by bionic elbow at 11:35. Fuller distracts the referee. Roode and Bennett both run out at the same time to attack Nick Aldis and get into it on the floor. Knight tries to keep the peace, but this allows Aldis to block a stunner and shove Austin into the ropes to take an elbow from the apron by Rhodes. Tag to Dusty for the finish.
