WCW Halloween Havoc for Oct. 29, 2023
Live from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts
Free-4-All Pre-Show
Kamille Kaine vs. Lady Frost
Referee: Molly Holly
The show starts out with Lady Frost in the ring bragging about how she’s been hired back, because she’s such a hot commodity based on her OnlyFans page. Kamille Kaine then comes out and says Frost only got her job back, because Kaine asked for it. Why? So, she can do this. Kaine spears Frost out of her boots and pins her in under 10 seconds. Kaine then strips Frost post match and plugs her still on sale Playboy issue.
Winner: Kamille Kaine by pinfall at 8 seconds.

SoCal Val has L.A. Knight on the interview stage. He promised Shane McMahon that the nWo will play nice on the entire night or they’ll lose their title matches. Knight knows sometimes you have to go along to get along and they’ll do that, because the nWo will be standing tall at the end of the night, and that’s just a fact of life. He’s holding his towel for the match later with the nWo logo on it.
McMahon then comes out and talks about the main event, the designated terminator electrified steel cage match for the WCW Wild Card Title of Bret Hart with Hulk Hogan vs. L.A. Knight with Maria Kannelis-Bennett. That match from the first Halloween Havoc in 1989 had another stipulation to it, a special guest referee. So, he’s adding that to this match too, and the guest referee will be…Shane McMahon.

“Lionheart” Chris Jericho is back and will defend the UWA Universal Men’s Title against Magnum TA. Magnum has been running his mouth a lot and politicking a lot behind Jericho’s back. Now that he’s looking him square in the eye we’ll see what Magnum has to say. What does Jericho want to say? He’ll do his talking in that ring tonight.

Referee: Molly Holly
Blanchard blocks the Riptide and nails a Codebreaker. She gets a double arm suplex and a jumping cutter for a two count. She goes to the top rope, but Ripley meets her up there and lines up a superplex. Blanchard blocks, shoves her off and goes for diving senton, but misses. Magnum TA tells Chris Jericho that he’s one to flap his gums about someone who does a lot of talking but doesn’t say anything. Jericho’s reign as UWA Men’s Champion has been more than uneventful, more than a disgrace, it’s a disaster of epic scale and it ends tonight.

Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart are together. Hogan is holding the designated terminator towel, with the Hart Foundation logo on it. “The Hulkster and the Hitman are strange bedfellows, dude, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend and we’ve both got it in for that no-good, two-timing L.A. Knight. He’s not leading my New World Order, brother, he’s got that New Worse Odor.”
“Hogan and I don’t get along and never have. It’s kind of hard to believe we were both nWo at one time. But, I’m back to where I need to be with my family in the Hart Foundation and the only reason I’ve got Hogan with me tonight and not one of my brothers is because I owe him one and the Hitman pays his debts. Knight screwed Hogan at Fall Brawl, but tonight the only one getting screwed is you, Knight, right through the mat.”

Kurt Angle vs. the Boogeyman
Referee: Tommy Young
Kurt Angle walks to the ring very hesitantly, frightened by every sound and person trying to slap his back or give him a high five from over the ring barrier. Once in the ring, the lights go out. When they come back on, the Boogeyman is standing there. He beats Angle around the ring, and he tries to run away. Angle takes over when he catches the Boogeyman coming back into the ring with a knee lift. Belly to belly overhead suplex leads to a series of European uppercuts. Boogeyman reverses a whip to the corner and gets a Stinger Splash. Angle elbows out of a chokeslam and goes for the Angle Slam, but Boogeyman drops out of the back and tries to run Angle into the ropes, but he blocks it and gets a mule kick to the junk Young misses. Angle Slam for the win. The lights go out again post match. They come on and the Boogeyman is gone, but the Ultimate Warrior is there. Angle looks like he craps his pants. The lights go out again and when they come back on, both are gone.
Winner: Kurt Angle by pinfall at 7:13.

SoCal Val is in the back with “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. “WCW Phantom. You can hide behind your mask. You can hide behind your padded black suit. You can hide behind that dirty old egg sucking dog, Col. Robert Fuller. But, tonight, all the hide and seek games are over, baby. All the games are over. No more tricks on Big Dust, only treats as I’ll get that lead pipe down and give you, Phantom, a taste of your own bitter medicine.”

Lead Pipe on a Pole Match

The Phantom climbs and retrieves the pipe, but Dusty comes up from under and gives the Phantom an electric chair drop from the second rope. Rhodes is bleeding. Dusty gets the lead pipe, nails the Phantom with it and scores the victory. He unmasks the Phantom and it’s…Robert Roode. Fuller tries to jump Rhodes, but he catches him and bounces him from the ring. He pulls the dazed Roode out and they exit.

SoCal Val has Nick Aldis. He’s privileged to be the WCW U.S. Champion, but he’ll be more honored to hold it and the WCW World Heavyweight Title before the night is over. He might be the former UWA Universal Men’s Champion, but he’s never held the big gold belt in his own home promotion and that’s where his sights are today. Steve Austin your reign will be short and pitiful. The National Treasure will become a World Treasure shortly.

WCW World Trios Titles
Hart Foundation (Keith Hart, Bruce Hart and Harry Smith) vs. nWo (Mike Bennett, Killer Kross and Will Hobbs) with Maria Kannelis-Bennett
Referee: Joey Marella
Winners and new WCW Trios Champions: The nWo by pinfall of Hobbs on Bruce Hart at 11:32
— — — — —
SoCal Val in the back has Bad Influence. They’re new to WCW and wanted to make a big impact. They decided to go after the last team to come into the company before them. If Guerrero wound up getting his ass kicked because of that, oh well, collateral damage. Guerrero then comes in, still selling his beating, but he challenges Daniels to a match tomorrow night on Nitro.

WCW World Heavyweight Title
“Stunning” Steve Austin © with Col. Robert Fuller vs. “National Treasure” Nick Aldis
Referee: Tommy Young

SoCal Val has Chiseled and Grizzled of Ronnie Garvin and Sam Houston in the back. They’re going to take the WCW World Tag Team Titles tonight from the Dud Stable and there’s nothing Mr. Dreadful and Mr. Not-So-Perfect can do about it. They’re going to handle the tag champs like their buddy Dusty Rhodes took out the WCW Phantom, who we know now is Bobby Roode, and just like Roode, Hennig and Orndorff will run off with their tail between their legs.

WCW Women’s Title Boston Street Fight
Wendi Richter © with Cyndi Lauper vs. “The Queen” Charlotte Flair

She checks on Lauper and that allows Flair to get a hair pull takedown and a series of kicks. She wedges the chair in the corner and goes to whip Richter into it, but it gets reversed and Flair takes it in the back. Richter gets a swinging arm wrench facebuster and then a buckle bomb into the chair still wedged in the corner. She wants the True Colors DDT, but Flair drops out of it and rolls to the floor. SoCal Val has Steve Austin and Mickie James in the back. James is hanging all over Austin. “Nick Aldis, you stupid jackass, did you think your wife would go back to you all of a sudden after being against you for the past few months. She realizes what I’ve been telling everyone since I came back to WCW. I might be Stone Cold, but I’ve also always been Stunning. The women can’t get enough of me and one woman in particular is this one right here. Austin 3:16 might say I just kicked your ass, but Austin 3:17 says I just banged your old lady.”

An unmasked Bobby Roode is with SoCal Val. He says Dusty Rhodes didn’t beat the man, he beat a gimmick that was a cheap attempt at mind games. Okay, it didn’t work. But now Bobby Roode is really here as himself in WCW and his tenure with the Stud Stable will be Glorious. He knows Perfectly Wonderful will retain the WCW World Tag Team Titles next and Austin still has the WCW World Title, that leaves only one thing for him, Nick Aldis and the WCW U.S. Title.

WCW World Tag Team Titles
Perfectly Wonderful (Curt Hennig and Paul Orndorff) © with Col. Robert Fuller vs. Chiseled and Grizzled (Ronnie Garvin and Sam Houston)
Referee: Joey Marella
Winners: Chiseled and Grizzled by disqualification at 12:50.

We see Kurt Angle lying unconscious in the desert. He comes too and we hear the disembodied voice of the Ultimate Warrior. “Kurt Angle, Olympic hero, but not an ultimate warrior. You have not undone the Warrior, only made me stronger in my exile. I have returned to my native lands to replenish myself in the powers of the ancient warriors and now, Kurt Angle, I have brought you to me here, here in where I rule, here to Parts Unknown!” Angle looks around at the bleak nothingness and then runs away like crazy.

Nitro Girls dance as they complete bringing in the cage and the commentators talk about the main event.
WCW Wild Card Title
Designated Terminator Electrified Steel Cage Match
Bret “The Hitman” Hart © with Hulk Hogan vs. L.A. Knight with Will Hobbs
Special Guest Referee: Shane McMahon
L.A. Knight says Maria is injured from earlier and can’t be his second at ringside. He replaces her with newest nWo member, Will Hobbs. Hart and Hogan don’t care, so McMahon allows it.
Knight climbs the cage and gets Hart to chase him. Knight kicks Hart several times in the head by having the high ground. He then pulls the dazed Bret up the cage until he gets shocked by the electrified portion and falls to the ground. Knight drops down with a knee strike to the gut. Knight picks up the floor mats and goes for a Gravy Train on the bare floor, but Hogan cuts him off. This brings Hobbs over and they slug it out. Both men drop their towels while fighting. McMahon breaks them up and tells them to get their towels.
Hart recovers and backdrops Knight on the concrete. He gives him an inverted suplex into the side of the cage. Gutwrench backbreaker onto the ring apron. Hart bashes Knight’s knee into the ringpost and puts on the ringpost figure four. Knight is screaming and flailing away and winds up grabbing McMahon and throwing him to the floor. Hobbs throws in the towel and boots Hart in the head to break it off. Hogan attacks Hobbs and launches him into the cage wall. Knight finally delivers the Gravy Train on the concrete floor on Hart.
McMahon comes back in and sees the towel…but it’s the one with the Hart Foundation logo, not the nWo logo. Hogan protests he still has a towel, but it’s the nWo logo towel. Gorilla Monsoon on commentary theorizes the towels got mixed up earlier when Hogan and Hobbs dropped them while fighting.
Knight tells McMahon Hogan threw in the towel after Knight broke the figure four and made a comeback, but then stole Hobbs’ towel so he could claim he didn’t. Hogan protests. Knight protests back. Hogan lays in the punches on Knight. He launches him into the cage wall. McMahon tells Hogan to cool it. Hogan blasts Shane one. Hobbs comes in and brawls with Hogan. Knight comes around and they double team Hogan, giving him a spiked Gravy Train. The Hart Foundation run out and try to climb the cage, but are held back by the electric zaps. McMahon comes back around and declares Knight the winner.
Winner: L.A. Knight by referee declaration of towel throw-in at 24:11.
