AEW Dynamite
Aug. 30, 2023
The show starts with a replay of the end of last week’s show, when Diesel and Razor Ramon emerged from backstage to point at the Chosen Bros. The classic duo opens the show to a raucous ovation. Diesel grabs the mic and says that he and Razor felt the need to get back to where they were when they first broke it big in this business. They’re here now, and ready to take the tag team gold from the Chosen Bros. Razor grabs the mic and says it’s time for the bad guys to ascend to the throne.
They’re interrupted by the current tag team champions, and Jeff Cobb has the mic. He says he knows that Diesel and Razor smell blood in the water. That he and Matt Riddle have been having some issues. But they’re going to pull it together and end this little throwback before it gets off the ground. Cobb challenges Razor to a match right now.
Match 1 - Jeff Cobb (7-8) w/ Matt Riddle vs. Razor Ramon (2-0) w/ Diesel
Ramon gets the win after Riddle accidentally tripped Cobb, and Ramon hit the Razor’s Edge for the win at 8:30. After the match, the tag team champs argue and Cobb storms off. The Chosen Bros vs. Diesel & Razor Ramon is announced for All Out on Sept. 9.

The Apex is out to the ring next, with Jeff Jarrett responding to Roman Reigns’ challenge last week. He says Reigns is out of his mind if he thinks Jarrett will just let him set up a match.
Reigns and the Bloodline walk to the ring, where Reigns approaches Jarrett. Wardlow gets between them. Reigns says he wants the match so much, he will even let the Apex come out to ringside. Because the Bloodline will be there, too. He challenges Jarrett to a Lumberjack match at All Out, with the two stables as Lumberjacks. Jarrett makes eye contact with the members of the Apex, then nods his head in agreement. “You’re on, slapnuts.”

Match 2 - Beth Phoenix (7-4) vs. Angelina Love (5-5) w/ The Beautiful People
Love gets the major upset victory with some major help from Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky on the outside. Alexa Bliss runs down after the match before the trio can injure Phoenix, as The Beautiful People scatter and have a staredown with Phoenix and Bliss.

Dean Malenko is out to the ring next, surrounded by security. He mentions last week and how neither Miro or Ken Shamrock could get the job done. So Malenko should have the night off at All Out now.
This brings out Tony Khan, who reminds Malenko that the match was thrown out due to Malenko’s own interference. And, since this whole situation was Malenko’s idea in the first place, Khan is going to go ahead and book the match for All Out - Triple Threat between Dean Malenko, Miro and Ken Shamrock. Khan also books matches for Shamrock and Miro tonight, and says if Malenko interferes in any way, he’ll be suspended indefinitely. Malenko looks upset as we head to commercial.

Match 3 - Ken Shamrock (1-1) vs. Jake Hager (11-7)
Shamrock gets the win in 14:19 with the ankle lock.

We see a video of AEW Women’s Champion Paige VanZant training in the gym. She takes a break and tells the camera that she and Ronda Rousey have been battling for nearly a year now. She used to look up to Rousey; then Rousey attacked her unprovoked and broke her arm. VanZant trained like a beast to get back to the ring, and made Rousey tap out in February at Revolution. VanZant went on to become just the second women’s champion in AEW history, yet still has the specter of Rousey hanging around. It’s time to put the feud to bed. It’s not good enough to make Rousey tap out again; this time, she wants to hear Rousey shout “I Quit” in agony.

Match 4 - The Usos (2-0) vs. The American Wolves (7-9)
The Usos get the win at 10:38 after a superkick on Davey Richards.

Miro and Shamrock pass each other in the hall, with Shamrock headed to his car and Miro on his way to the ring. Miro tells Shamrock to stay out of his way. As the Redeemer, it’s his destiny to slaughter Dean Malenko at All Out. Shamrock stares at Miro and says he’s known as the World’s Most Dangerous Man for a reason. He wishes Miro luck against Gable Steveson tonight.
—
Main Event - Miro (3-0) vs. Gable Steveson (9-4)
Steveson tries shaking Miro’s hand before the match, but Miro slaps it away and takes the early offensive. The former All-Atlantic and Olympic Champion (Steveson) mounts a comeback, but Miro gets the win with The Accolade (Camel Clutch) at 13:19.
AEW Rampage
Sept. 1, 2023
TNT Champion Sammy Guevara starts the show alongside Tay Melo. He talks about being proud to be the TNT Champion, and he has his sights set on even bigger and better things like winning the Casino Battle Royale at All Out and going on to become AEW World Champion.Mick Foley (as Cactus Jack) comes to the stage, and after a quick “Bang Bang!” he says that Sammy and his gal pal are sure causing a ruckus in AEW. Jack is in the battle royale, as well. And he’s crazy enough that all he might care about is spoiling Sammy’s night. While Sammy is focused on Foley, Britt Baker slides in the ring from where she was hiding under the ring and tackles Tay Melo to the ground, in retaliation for Melo’s attack on her last week! Sammy pulls Britt off of Melo; Britt slaps Sammy, but he doesn’t retaliate. He just grabs Melo and they get out of the ring.

Black gets the win with the Black Mass in 8 minutes.

AEW World Champion Bill Goldberg is shown riding in a limo, wearing a suit and with the championship on his lap. He laments that Cody Rhodes had to stay home this week on concussion protocol. He’s really hoping that Rhodes is ready for their match at All Out. Goldberg pauses and tells the driver to pull over. They just passed a lemonade stand, and he’s parched.
Goldberg gets out and buys some lemonade from a little girl. A woman off-camera asks what he’s doing there, and he replies that he’s just supporting a little girl’s dream and quenching his thirst. The woman walks closer, and it’s Brandi Rhodes. She tells Goldberg to get the hell away from her daughter. He sneers at her, then crumples the paper cup and says the lemonade tastes like piss anyway. “Say hi to Cody for me. I hope you’re ready for the unemployment line.”
—
Match 2 - Harley Race (0-0) vs. Matt Jackson (2-1) w/ Nick Jackson
Race is able to fend off Nick Jackson’s interference to pin Matt after a diving headbutt at 7:19.
Race grabs the mic after the match and says he remembers Kenny Omega well from when Omega was a young punk, hungry and wild. Race says that he is the Alpha Male, and a real man’s man. Omega has never looked across the squared circle at an opponent like Race. If Omega wants to get dangerous, Race can get dangerous. He accepts the match.
