Randy Savage promo for the main event. “What it is is what it is and what it is at Slamboree in the main event is the Macho Man cashing in his Money in the Bank contract for a WCW World Heavyweight Title shot against Mr. Not-So-Wonderful Paul Orndorff, uh-huh, yeah. Orndorff said I’m stupid for doing this, yeah, that I show no logic doing this, yeah, that I’m crazy for walking right up to him and looking him in the eye and saying ‘I want my world title shot now, please, sir,’ yeah. Well, the Macho Man is crazy alright, crazy like a fox, yeah. And tonight this fox is walking right through the front door of the henhouse and coming out of it the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion, dig it!”

Promo from Paul Orndorff. “If anybody has a Martian to English dictionary, translate what Randy Savage just said and get back to me. I’m going to say this so plain and simple, even someone with the IQ of a toddler like Savage can understand it. I’m the superior athlete, I’m the superior wrestler and I’m the superior ring general. That’s three important factors in my favor and zero for Savage. That equals me retaining the WCW World Heavyweight Title here tonight at Slambroee.”

Jake Roberts promo. “The question for the longest time has been what’s better than perfect? Well, look into my eyes and you’ll see it. Pure evil. There’s an old saying that one would rather be lucky than good. Well, I’ve never been lucky and everybody knows I’ve never been good in a certain sense. Now, Curt Hennig. Has he been good in his career? Yeah. Has he been lucky in his career? Yeah. Will Mr. Perfect tonight witness and understand what is better than Perfect? Yeah. Mark my words he will realize that what is better than perfect is just three little letters. DDT.”

Curt Hennig promo. “Jake Roberts was out here spouting cliches about what’s better than perfect and it’s better being lucky than good. Well, I’ve got a cliche for your Roberts. You’re all sizzle and no steak. You talk a good game. You talk riddles wrapped in enigmas. When it comes to that ring, you’ve always fallen short. You say you’re not good in a certain sense. I agree, but not in the way you mean. You put the list of championships I’ve won, big matches I’ve won, big time feuds I’ve won and put it next to a list for you. You’ll see that you come up a little short, just like your wife has always said. You’ve got three letters for me in DDT. I’ve got three numbers for you, the referee counting your shoulders to the mat and declaring me the winner after a PerfectPlex and the one-two-three.”

The Nitro Girls dance on the entrance stage. Magnum TA walks to the ring and pays them no mind. He gets on the microphone and demands that if Dusty Rhodes can’t wrestle him tonight because of a broken arm, then whoever Rhodes dug up to face him better get out here right now.
Dusty Rhodes comes out with his arm in a sling. He said it’s just contused, baby, and he should be back in the ring within a couple weeks. But tonight, Magnum TA is going to find out that Dusty Rhodes has more than one friend in WCW. Out walks “The Man with the Hands of Stone” Ronnie Garvin. He’s been out for a couple months due to injury. Magnum tells Garvin to bring it while we transition to the main ppv.

SoCal Val has Jimmy and Terry Garvin in the back. They complain about how Ronnie didn’t tell them he was coming back. He’s talking more to that prima madonna, egotist Dusty Rhodes than his own blood. In fact, Jimmy and Terry couldn’t get a WCW contract until Ronnie was out of the picture. Was he blocking them signing? Maybe. He doesn’t want to be family to them. He’d rather be brothers with Dusty Rhodes. Fine. Ronnie will find out that blood is thicker than water when they spill his all over the ring.

Tonight she proves she belongs in WCW and she deserves to have the WCW Women’s Title around her waist. Tonight is the first night in the rest of her career. Gorilla Monsoon talks about the empty arena match that was taped earlier in the day between Hulk Hogan and Kevin Owens. The only people present were the two grapplers, referee Tommy Young and the cameraman. The only other person outside the two of them that knows the results is Shane McMahon. In order to keep the secret, Hogan nor Owens are in the building tonight. Although, Monsoon is sure each will have a lot to say about it tomorrow night on Nitro.

SoCal Val has Charlotte Flair in the back. Lady Frost is talking about one night only. Well, diamonds are forever and so is the Flair family. Her father is one of the greatest champions of all time. Who does Lady Frost claim on her family tree? Tony Marino, who ran around in a fake Batman costume just to get booked in Pittsburgh. And now Frost is running around as a fake Elsa and the only reason she got a job in WCW in the first place was to draw in the little girls. It fits because Lady Frost is nothing, but a little girl and Charlotte is a grown-ass woman who will be taking her title back tonight.

That doesn’t matter now, what matters is that Martel is the new champion and he’s got all night to celebrate. He’s got a hot tub built for 10 back at his hotel room, so why doesn’t Val round up the Nitro Girls and come see him. The champagne and the good time is on the new U.S. Champion.

SoCal Val has Dusty Rhodes in the back and asks him about getting his arm healed and going after not only Magnum TA, but the Garvin Brothers now and Ronnie Garvin being at his side.
“I know there’s pain, but no one can change your life except for you. Don’t ever let anyone step all over you. Someday somebody’s gonna make you turn around and say goodbye. Until then, baby, are going to let them hold you down and make you cry? Don’t you know things can change. Things will go your way if you hold on for one more day. Can you hold on for one more day? That’s what I’m asking all the fans and Ronnie Garvin to do right now. Hold on for one more day, because the American Dream is coming back.”
