AEW Dynamite - March 8
But that doesn’t excuse Joe’s attack. Or MVP’s continued meddling in his affairs. Rey’s music hits, and he walks out to a large ovation.
Rey - “I’ve been watching you for a long time, hombre. You’re absolutely right — Sammy Guevara is the future of professional wrestling. Hell, you’re close to being the present. But I’ve still got a little bit of time left. And I’m going to make the most of it.”
Guevara says that it’s completely bogus that Rey was even in the Face of the Revolution match. If Rey is the Face of the Revolution, then it’s doomed to fail. Rey walks down to the ring. He tells Sammy that, if he thinks Rey doesn’t deserve his spot, then he can put his money where his mouth is — Rey will put his All-Atlantic Championship shot on the line tonight. But when he wins? Sammy shuts his mouth and moves on. Sammy nods his head and walks off. We head to commercial.
Match 1 - Anthony Bowens w/ Max Caster vs. James Storm w/ Bobby Roode
Storm gets the win in 7:39 with the Eye of the Storm.
—
Matt Riddle and Jeff Cobb are backstage, going through a pile of board games. Riddle holds up Battleship, and Cobb shakes his head; then he holds up Sorry, and Cobb says no; the next game is Twister, and Riddle has a big, goofy grin, but Cobb just gives him a look.
Riddle - “Bah, what are we doing, anyway? We need one more person to join us for the trios tournament. We really shouldn’t be playing games right now. Keep your mind in the game, bro.” Cobb says he’s got an idea and they walk off.
—
Match 2 - Willow Nightingale (1-1) vs. Riho (5-10)
Nightingale puts up a good fight against the more experienced Riho, but the match gets thrown out at 6:32 when the Beautiful People attack and beat down both women until Sasha Banks runs out to a large round of applause, and the villains scatter. The Beautiful People say that they’re just making good on their promise from last week to make an impact in the women’s division. Banks responds that she’s here now. She’s tired of sitting back and watching women attack other women with sneak attacks and numbers advantages. Why don’t they have a six-woman tag team match now that the odds are even?
Angelina Love scoffs and says they aren’t even in their wrestling gear. She’ll see them on Friday.
—
Match 3 - Jon Moxley (4-4) vs. Davey Richards (1-0) w/ Eddie Edwards
Mox gets the win in 6:02 with the Paradigm Shift. Following the match, Jeff Jarrett, JBL and Shawn Spears emerge from the crowd. Spears spins Mox around, and Jarrett smashes him over the head with an acoustic guitar. He pulls a piece of paper out of his back pocket and lays it on Mox’s back. He says that Mox wanted another match, and he’s got it. He’ll see him next week for March Madness for their rubber match. And, this time? It’s anything goes. Jarrett is bringing along his guitar.

We see a recap of Jake Hager interrupting Taz last week on Rampage, as well as a promo for Taz vs. Hager on this week’s Rampage.
—
Match 4 - Jurassic Express (8-5) (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) vs. The Outsiders (4-2)
Nash hits a vicious Jackknife Powerbomb on Jungle Boy to get the win in 12:28 after a great back-and-forth match.
—
After the break, Hall and Nash are backstage talking about how overrated Jurassic Express is when Rick Steiner walks by. Hall yells after Rick, asking about the state of tag team wrestling if Jurassic Express is the future. Rick responds that Hall and Nash are just lucky to be here still in 2023. This makes Hall mad, and he grabs Rick and tosses him into the wall just as Scott Steiner is walking around the corner eating a sub. He looks down at his brother on the ground, then at Hall and Nash standing above him. Scott Steiner tosses his sub at Hall, then runs and tackles him to the ground. Security is nearby and pulls the four men apart.
—
Match 5 - Dean Malenko w/ RVD vs. Homicide w/ Hernandez
Malenko wins in 8:49 after a Double Underhook powerbomb.
—
Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks come out to the ring. Cody says he isn’t taking his eyes off of the AEW World Championship — he fully intends to regain the championship again by the end of the year. But he’s got to earn that opportunity. In the meantime, he’s going to work like hell with Nick and Matt to win the King of Trios Tournament and earn his shot at the All-Atlantic Championship, and their shot at the tag team championships.
—
Main Event - Sammy Guevara (12-5) w/ Tay Melo vs. Rey Mysterio (1-0)
Guevara and Mysterio have a fast-paced and high-flying match. Both have scouted each others’ big moves and pull off a lot of reversals. Guevara says something to Melo, and she pulls out the Dynamite Diamond Ring. But before she can slip it to Guevara, MVP runs down and grabs it from her hand. Guevara slides outside to confront MVP. Rey runs and hits a senton onto Guevara, as MVP backs off. Rey slides Guevara into the ring, where he hits the 619 and gets the pin at 18:38.
Melo checks on Guevara after the match, and MVP stares them down with a smirk.
Rampage -
This brings out Goldberg — “Mick. Jack. Mankind. Dude Love. I don’t think it matters a whole hell of a lot what shirt you’re wearing. I’ll destroy you regardless. And, though I don’t think you really deserve it, I’ll even put this championship on the line. Because if you can somehow defeat me? You deserve to be champion.”
Cactus Jack smiles and says it’s a deal. The match is set for next Friday night, on the Rampage leg of March Madness.
—
Match 1 - Sabu (0-0) vs. Konnan (1-0)
Konnan gets the win with a Tequila Sunrise, turned into a roll-up pin, at 8:32.
—
Matt Riddle and Jeff Cobb are in the hall, talking to someone around the corner. Riddle says “Welcome to the team, bro!” and they shake hands. The camera moves around to reveal Gable Steveson.
—
Sammy Guevara vs. MVP is announced for March Madness, with Tay Melo banned from ringside.
—
Match 2 - Taz (1-1) vs. Jake Hager (9-5)
Taz gets the win with a Taz-plex on the bigger man after a hard-fought match. Taz kicked out of a Hager-bomb, and Hager started arguing with the ref, allowing Taz to lock in his move for the win at 12:38.
—
Beth Phoenix comes out to the ring as a replay of her win over Alexa Bliss recently airs. She gets a mic and says that Alexa has all of the talent in the world, and she’s wasting it by following around a woman who is just using her. “Abadon doesn’t care about you, Alexa. If she did, she wouldn’t have left you hanging against me.”
—
Main Event - The Beautiful People (Love, Rayne, Sky) vs. Willow Nightingale, Riho and Sasha Banks
AEW/UWA Women’s Champion Jade Cargill came to ringside for the match. She and Banks argued on the outside. While they argued, the Beautiful People took advantage and pinned Nightingale at 7:29. Riho walked off in a huff, yelling that Banks wasn’t actually there to help them out. She’s more interested in the title.
This left a 4-on-2 attack on Nightingale and Banks, as the Beautiful People and Cargill laid them out. The show ended with Cargill standing over Banks, holding both belts high in the air as we got a final preview for March Madness:
