WCCW Black Friday
From Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Friday, November 25th
Promoter: Paul Boesch
General Manager: William Regal
Announce Team: The Professional Brian Myers & Pat McAfee
Pat and Brian Welcome us to Globe Life Field, the home of the Texas Rangers, for World Class Championship Wrestling's return to the Metroplex! They run down the massive card and we go straight to the ring to get the action started!
The Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff w/ Ivan Koloff vs. Buddy Murphy - Winner Enters the Double Ladder Title Match Tonight!
Crowd is accepting of both men at first, since neither has presented himself as much of a heel or babyface so far. Murphy goes for a more stick and move style offense, trying to avoid the lethal right arm of the big Russian. Murphy hits a Zig Zag for a 2 count. Nikita eats an enziguri before he can get to his feet, and Buddy hits a running knee that lays the bigger man out. Koloff rolls to the floor to regroup, and We get An Airborne Aussie as Murphy somersaults over the ropes and levels Koloff. He climbs back in and Nikita has to stagger to his feet and climb under the ropes just before the 10 count. Murphy goes for another knee, but Nikita rolls out of harms way and starts to kick and stomp Buddy in the corner. A Belly to Belly suplex tosses Buddy across the mat.
Koloff is in firm control now, and Ivan is on the floor shouting instructions at his nephew, when he is suddenly SUPERKICKED out of nowhere by Chris Adams! The Gentleman points into the ring, where Nikita is furious and starting to climb through the ropes to get at Adams. Gino Hernandez is now here as well, and he tosses powder in Nikita's eyes! The referee was out of position, yelling at Adams to get out! Nikita staggers back into a Fireman's carry, and we get a Death Valley Driver from Buddy Murphy! 1...2...3!
Your Winner, via Pinfall (9:12) Buddy Murphy!
Murphy, Adams, and Hernandez retreat up the aisle as Ivan gets to his feet and rolls into the ring to check on Nikita. Brian wonders if we're going to have another crazy night like we had in San Marcos last month. Pat certainly hopes so. Brian is asking if this is all part of the plan The Dynamic Duo was talking about a few weeks ago in Corpus Christi.
Speaking of things that happened in Corpus Christi, Brian throws us to a video package recap of the McDaniel/Rhodes feud and the odd stipulation placed on them here tonight.
Wahoo McDaniel & Dustin Rhodes vs. The Blackjacks - WCCW Tag Team Tournament Qualifying Match
A brief debate about who is starting the match ends prematurely as Mulligan says 'F this' and avalanches both men in the corner. He trades punches and chops with Wahoo, and Dustin powders out, only to be greeted by Lanza on the floor. The brawl this match has begun as seems to be right in each man's wheelhouse, but the Blackjacks are getting the upper hand for now. Mulligan powerslams McDaniel and drops a big leg across his chest for a 2 count.
Tag to Lanza, who opens up Wahoo with black-gloved punches. The Blackjacks get in quite a bit of double team offense, and the official threatens a DQ. The delay allows Wahoo to crawl to the corner. Dustin tags in and is a house of fire, clearing both Blackjacks out of the ring. Lanza is now legal, and Dustin bulldogs Lanza for a 2 count. Follow up with a spinning suplex and Rhodes props Lanza up for the Golden Globes. Mulligan cuts that off, and Wahoo chops him until his chest bleeds. Dustin with a knee strike to Lanza, which puts him in position for a Impaler DDT and 1...2...3!
Your Winners, via Pinfall (6:39) Wahoo McDaniel & Dustin Rhodes
Pat honestly can't believe it! These two have tried to kill each other for weeks and weeks, and here they are, getting their hands raised, together. Wahoo and Dustin eye each other wearily, but eventually shake hands. Brian notes that they seem to have developed some mutual respect, although we still don't know the genesis of their feud.
Brian tells the fans that the World Class Tag Team Title Tournament will officially get underway in 2 weeks at Lone Star Live in Waco, Texas, with four first round matches that night. He notes that teams from across the UWA have been invited, so the World Class fans will be seeing matchups they could have only dreamed about. Pat throws us to backstage, where a very angry General Manager is standing by.
Regal has no idea what the Dynamic Duo are planning, but he is here to nip it all right in the bud. Buddy Murphy will keep his spot, but he bans Chris Adams and Gino Hernandez from ringside for the ladder match tonight. If they interfere, they will forfeit their entry in the upcoming tag team title tournament. Gino and Chris walk up, and Hernandez makes sure to verify they are banned from ringside "For the Ladder Match" Regal, who gives him a bitter look, quietly confirms that statement.
The World's Strongest Man Mark Henry w/ Miss Tessmacher vs. Andre The Giant
Miss Tessmacher prances over to the announce desk to inform Pat & Brian her TessMonsters, The Japanese Invasion, will be part of the tag team title tournament.
In the ring, Henry tries to prove his moniker. He and Andre go test of strength, no sell each other's shoulder blocks, and trade punches with no effect either way. Tessmacher screams at her man from the apron, and Andre swats at her to go away. Henry uses the distraction to tie the giant in the ropes and nail him with several good shots before the referee steps in and works to free the Eight Wonder. Once Andre is up, Henry scoops him for the WSS, but Andre blocks and reverses the leverage for a 2 count. Henry rolls to the floor, and Andre pursues him. They trade blows and headshots on the apron and ring steps until the referee's count reaches 10.
Official Decision (4:22) Double Count Out
The crowd is not happy, but the combatants hardly seem to notice as the fight continues up the ramp. It takes most of the locker room to keep the behemoths apart.
Brian is disappointed. He wanted to see a finish there. Pat echoes that, but he is thinking we'll get another dose of these Big Meaty Men Bumping Meat in the near future. They then throw us to a video package as the crowd settles back to their seats
The Fabulous Freebirds vs. Doom & Bam Bam Bigelow w/ Sensational Sherri
This one threatens to get out of hand as well. It is definitely brutal, as the two Bam Bams start us out and within minutes, they are both bleeding. Hayes and Roberts keep Doom off balance for the most part, using their speed and some blatant cheating for good measure. Buddy finds himself set up for a double choke slam. Hayes with a chop block on Simmons, Gordy levels Butch as Bigelow clotheslines Hayes over the ropes and he tumbles with him. Roberts with a backslide on Simmons for the shocking 1...2...3!
Your Winners, Via Pinfall (10:10) The Fabulous Freeebirds!
Brian is shocked, but Pat knew that you couldn't keep Badstreet down for long! We will be seeing both the Freebirds and Doom in the tag team title tournament, so there's a good chance we will be running this one back again.
Pat says and speaking of the Tag Team Tournament, here are two more teams that clashed at Wrestling Star Wars. If you like stiff and hard hitting, this next match is for you.
The Road Warriors vs. Demolition
Road Warriors charge down the ramp where Ax and Smash meet them outside the ring. Multiple officials are there and break it up in record time. Brian notes that William Regal must have seen this coming and was prepared.
Ax and Animal are in the ring as the bell sounds, and the fists fly furiously from both men. Smash with the first tag and he uses his relative agility to keep the Warriors off balance as he hits clotheslines and running knee lifts, then darts across the ring to size the man up for the next shot instead of staying within arms reach. Ax tags in and he and Hawk get introduced the old fashioned way, trading slams and biels across the ring. Ax doubles him over for a piledriver, and Hawk bounces back and is on his feet no selling it before Ax gets up. Hawk with the shoulder block dive for 2. Demolition gets Animal in the Decapitation, but Hawk breaks that up and in the skirmish, Ax and Smash run head first into each other. Ax is hoisted on Animal's shoulders, and it is Doomsday for Demolition
Your Winners, via Pinfall (11:47) The Road Warriors
Wow is all Pat can say. Brian wants to sign up for more of that. Pat hopes this pairing faces off in the tournament, because imagine that match with added stakes involved.
Speaking of tag team matches, this next one has ben building for months. You know both teams will be in the tournament, but tonight is all about revenge for the Von Erichs
The Mercenaries w/ General Skandor Akbar vs. Kevin & Kerry Von Erich w/ Lacey Von Erich
Brian notes that Lacey wasn't afraid to get in Akbar's face before, so perhaps we will have a fair fight on our hands. Pat hopes not.
Kevin starts out with one of the masked men. Actual wrestling for a short bit, headlocks and arm drags and some criss-crossing of the ropes. Kerry comes in and goes to town in the corner on the legal Mercenary. Kerry beils his man out of the corner and hits a discus Lariat for a 2 count. The other Mercenary was on his way to break it up, so Kevin is on to neutralize the second. A bit of a four way fight breaks out. Kevin head scissors one of the Mercenaries out of the ring, and the brothers take advantage of the numbers game.
On the outside, the crowd buzzes with the appearance of Akbar's other charge, Vader. Akbar points and Vader grabs Lacey from behind and heaves her onto Akbar's shoulders. They beat a retreat through the crowd. The brothers don't see what happened right away, and David come charging down the ramp and tries to follow Akbar and Vader into the stands.
The Mercenaries vanish as well, and the referee is standing in the middle of the ring alone. He seems to not know what to do, so he calls for the bell
Official Decision (3:26) No Decision
Brian is shocked. The crowd is stunned and silent. They can't believe Akbar actually KIDNAPPED Lacey Von Erich. Pat thinks that could come back to bite him, as the Von Erich brothers are already a little off their rockers to begin with. You mess with their family, and it could get ugly in a hurry.
The cameras cut back to the parking area, where we see the Von Erich brothers on foot chasing down a speeding white van. David smashes a nearby car window with his fist, and is bleeding badly. Kevin walks him to medical while Kerry dials 911 and reports his daughter missing.
Brian again cannot come up with a really good way to talk about the next match. Pat hypes up the historic ties to the Funks and Blanchard promotions again as the announcer begins his introductions and music brings wrestlers to the ring.
Mustafa Ali vs. Rick Martel vs David Von Erich vs Buddy Murphy vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. vs TBA vs TBA
Double Title Ladder Match - Southwest Heavyweight Championship and Western States Heavyweight Championship
The first five men are introduced. David Von Erich does not come out with his music. Buddy Murphy indeed comes out alone. There are two participants still to arrive. The Ring announcer continues
"From Stone Mountain Georgia... Apollo Crews!"
The crowd erupts with this surprise. Crews comes bounding down the aisle. Brian is shocked to see Crews in WCCW. Pat thinks this guy has all the athletic tools to be a world champion.
Apollos's music cuts out, followed by silence. Someone is walking onto the ramp alone. Stringy wet hair is covering the face. As the camera gets closer, the face becomes clear. Pat blurts out "That's.... that's PAC!"
Indeed, The Bastard is the final entrant. He comes to ringside slow and deliberately. He steps through the ropes and the bell sounds to start the match. No one moves right away. Pac sucker punches Ali, and that gets the ball rolling. Brian swears this is the fastest paced match he has ever seen. Pat thinks this makes crash TV look pedestrian. Crews slams Murphy into the ring post. Rey has the first ladder of the night propped up on the floor, and climbs up. Martel gives chase, and Rey leaps from the Ladder over the ropes and into the ring to catch Pac with a splash. Ali dives though the ropes to clear out Crews and Martel.
Murphy drags a ladder into the ring as he sets it up, Crews dropkicks it into his face. Martel has a ladder in the ring now as well, and Ali uses it to Tornado DDT Rey. A ladder bridge is built from ring apron to barricade, and Crews sentons Pac into the apparatus. Ali with an 054 from the top turnbuckle to the floor to wipe out the rest of the participants. The crowd gives the six gladiators their appreciation.
Martel is the first man to his feet, and is climbing a ladder below one of the belts. The crowd buzzes... Tito Santana is in the ring! He knocks Martel to the mat and pulls off his belt. He's whipping Martel again like a dog! Over and over before Rey intervenes. Tito nails Rey, and Ali and Crews double dropkick Tito over the ropes. Security has made it to ringside and they restrain Santana. Martel is writhing in pain and rolls to the floor. As the insanity unfolds, no one sees Pac scramble up the ladder and pull down the first title!
Your Winner (12:54) and NEW Southwest Heavyweight Champion, Pac!
Pac flips off the remaining participants and storms up the ramp dragging his newly won title. Murphy tries to copycat him, scrambling up the ring while the others seem to be gathering their wits. Rey catches him and they trade fists on top the ladder. Crews tips the ladder over, and they take the big bump all the way to the floor. Ali and Apollo both climbing the ladder now, and battling at the top. Now both men grab at the remaining title belt, and the ladder gets kicked away! They are dangling in mid air, with a death grip on the belt and hanger! They kick at each other. Crews tries to headbutt Ali, and he swings off balance. A well timed kick from Ali knocks Apollo to the mat, and after a few seconds dangling in mid-air, Mustafa is able to rip the strap open and fall to the canvas clutching the Western States Title.
Your Winner (16:38) and NEW Western States Heavyweight Champion, Mustafa Ali!
We see Rey helping Rick Martel to the back, deep & nasty red welts forming on the Canadian's skin. Pat is losing his mind at the action we just saw. Brian goes through some highlights. He notes David never arrived for the match, and is hoping for an update on both his hand and the Lacey Von Erich situation.
Pat and Brian narrate some of the many highlights of the match, then congratulate Ali and Pac for their big wins. They wonder what William Regal will do to Tito Santana as he has twice now attacked Rick Martel in the middle of a match.
The Nature Boy Ric Flair vs. The American Dream Dusty Rhodes - World Class Heavyweight Championship Best of Seven Series - Match Five.
Flair Leads the Series 3-1
Lots of punching and kicking as this one gets going. Pat mentions this one is looking less like a wrestling match and more like a bar fight as Dusty and flair continue to slug it out despite the referee's warnings about the continual use of closed fists.. Brian reminds us of the tremendous odds Dusty is trying to overcome. The rights and lefts and kicks and stomps continue as the momentum swings and back and forth. This is as ugly as it could be, and Brian notes it reflects the personal history between these two great competitors. Flair gets busted open to the surprise of no one. We finally get some wrestling moves after a while. Flair takes the big delay suplex. Dusty eats a Russian leg Sweep. Flair to the top... yeah, you know the drill. Big slam down and Dusty hits the ropes for an elbow drop and a 2 count.
Flair traps him in a sleeper for an extended sequence, then goes to chopping away at the Dream. Dusty responds by peppering Flair with Bionic Elbows until he takes a powder. Rhodes gives chase, and they trade blows on the floor, The referee gives up on the count and goes to the floor to get in between the two. Flair with a thumb to the eye down there over the referee's shoulder and Dusty is reeling. Flair bounces his head off the ring post before rolling him in. Flair hooks him for a suplex, but Dusty blocks it. Flair's turn to block a suplex lift. Sudden small package by Rhodes 1..2..No! REVERSED! Flair with the 1...2..No! REVERSED AGAIN! 1...2...3! Dusty held on!
Your Winner, via Pinfall (16:45) The American Dream Dusty Rhodes!
Flair protests, first saying Dusty had pulled his hair and then that he pulled his tights, but his pleas fall on deaf ears. Rhodes celebrates up the ramp, and Brian says that this one just got interesting. Pat talks about the Big Mo in sports and how that can carry a team, and Brian emphatically states that all the momentum is clearly on the side of the American Dream.
Seth Freakin' Rollins (C) vs Curt Hennig - Texas Heavyweight Championship Match
Collar and elbow to start. Henning overpowers Rollins to start, using clotheslines, arm drags and a Perfect dropkick to have the champ reeling. Rollins takes a couple shortcuts and turns the tide after some hair pulling, a low blow and a German Suplex into the turnbuckles. Rollins preens and cackles before delivering an enziguri and ripcord knee for a quick 2 count. He comes right back with DDT for another 2, and Hennig kicks out and rolls to the floor. He dodges a plancha and Rollins crashes into the barricade.
Henning pounces with a spinebuster and a backstabber. He goes for a middle rope elbow, but Rollins rolls out of the way. Henning crashes hard and both men struggle to a standing 8 count. The referee checks with both men, then calls for them to resume. The crowd is buzzing, and each man takes a moment to soak it in. Rollins with a charge. Kick to the gut by Curt. He's got him hooked, and attempts a Perfectplex, but Rollins over rotates and lands on his feet behind Hennig. Kick from Seth, Pedigree attempt No! Backdrop out and Henning dumps Seth on the floor. Curt's turn for a dive and they both hit the concrete hard. Referee counting when a flurry of action comes through the crowd... Someone is attacking Seth Rollins! That's Buddy Murphy! What is he doing here! And Murphy isn't alone. SUPERKICK from Chris Adams! Rollins is laid out in a heap! Henning is to his feet with a wry smile. Adams and Murphy pull Rollins up and Gino Hernandez blasts him with a chair! That's the last straw and we get a bell.
Your Winner, via Disqualification (13:14) and still Texas Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins
The bell stops nothing, as Henning, Hernandez, Adams and Murphy just lay into Seth Rollins mercilessly. Security is on the way to the ring, and the four men head up the ramp on their own accord. Regal meets them at the top of the ramp. He starts to lecture the Dynamic Duo, when Gino puts his hand up and tells him "We didn't interfere in the Ladder Match, just like you said" Regal is furious as the 4 men laugh it up and head backstage.
Brian narrates some highlights, and wonders what kind of trouble those four men will be causing WCCW. Pat says the sky is the limit there, they are all cunning and talented enough to make things interesting.
Chris Jericho (C) vs Vader w/ General Skandor Akbar - UWA World Heavyweight Title Match
Brian notes that Jericho just had a physical, draining match at the UWF's Thanksgiving Beatdown less than a week ago. He wonders if that will have any effect on The champion tonight. Pat says football teams hate the short weeks after a Monday Night game, and even that one day can throw you off your routine. Chris is up against it here on a short week against a very intimidating opponent that his predecessor chose.
Vader charges Chris at the bell and levels him. Big boots and a huge powerslam. Pat says this one has all the earmarks of a potential squash. Vader is rag-dolling Jericho around. Corner Splash. Military Press Slam. Vader is confident and Akbar says to hit him again. Corner splash... NO ONE IS HOME! Vader staggers back. CODEBREAKER! 1...2.. NO! Jericho on the offensive now. repeated shots and a clothesline. He thinks about setting up the Liontamer, but can't get Vader's thick lower half into position. Vader kicks Chris away and gets to his feet for a black hole slam. Jericho is feeling every bit of that. The Mastodon with a big biel out of the corner. Jericho lands on his feet, and connects with a springboard enziguri! Vader staggers... Judas Effect! Vader goes down 1....2... and a kick out.
The Champion to his feet and snaps off a DDT. Vader ducks a clothesline and belly to back suplexes Jericho. Challenger building some momentum again. Headbutt. Repeated blows. Another corner splash. Suddenly, David Von Erich, bloody bandaging wrapped around his fist, comes charging down the ramp. Akbar doesn't see him and gets knocked out cold with one punch! David is screaming at Vader! He starts into the ring, when suddenly, The Mercenaries materialize on the stage! Lacey is between them, her hands and mouth heavily taped! David takes off after them, and they vanish behind the curtain. Vader screams at the referee about Akbar being unconscious. The Referee holds his hands up and shrugs, and Vader turns around into a Codebreaker! 1....2....3!
Your Winner, via Pinfall (16:59) and STILL UWA World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Jericho!
Jericho celebrates, but we cut back to the parking garage, where Kevin & Kerry are frantically scrambling about searching for Lacey or the Mercenaries. David unwraps his bloody hand bandage to reveal the piece of rebar concealed inside. The same white van rolls by slowly, and we see a Mercenary behind the wheel. The brothers give chase, and we see a window roll down. Lacey is screaming through the duct tape for help! The van speeds away again! Kevin and Kerry give chase out of sight. An irate David knocks over tables, garbage cans, and anything not nailed down in frustration as we fade to black
