CCW Superstar Saturday: Episode 48
Commentators: Bob Caudle and Ivory
Ring Announcer: Mike McGuirk
Interviewer: SoCal Val
Referees: Tommy Young, Joey Marella and Aubrey Edwards
Bob Caudle welcomes Ivory as his new broadcast partner for Superstar Saturday. As announced on the last Wednesday Warfare, Shane McMahon will be doing color commentator duties on that show and he has a special announcement for today’s program. They go to Shane already in the ring.
McMahon said he feels privileged to be here in Continental Championship Wrestling as a color commentator and special consultant working with Executive Vice President of Operations Robert Fuller and Associate Vice President of Talent Relations Ivory. If the recent KaufMania proved anything, it’s that CCW is just overloaded with talent. March Madness is already packed full of matches for March 27, even though there are plenty of other potential matches available. With that being the case, Shane McMahon has been given approval by Fuller and Ivory to stage a secondary pay-per-view on March 30, resurrecting the WWE In Your House name.
McMahon hopes to have the entire card figured out by the end of today’s program, but he announces Terry Funk vs. Ronnie Garvin will be on the show and the main event will be Hulk Hogan vs. Billy Graham.

The first bout is a rematch from last week of Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith vs. Ivan and Nikita Karloff. The match last week ended in an 11 minute time limit draw as television time expired. Caudle said because of that, it was decided to give them the full 20-minute time limit of a main event at the top of the program.
Maybe with the extra time, the Koloffs don’t seem to be in a hurry as they isolate and wear down Hart, making him suffer. However, when they try to put him away, they can’t. Owen makes the hot tag, Smith cleans house, then everybody brawls. With Tommy Young trying to get order, Nikita nails Smith with the chain. He covers, but Young taps him on the shoulder, because time has expired. The Koloffs are livid, but Hart gets the chain and chases the Koloffs off.

Chris Candido and “Pretty Boy” Sean Casey with Sunny defeated Psycho Circus (Kizarny and Crazzy Steve) with “Voodoo Queen” Roxxi Leveaux by pinfall of Casey on Steve via superkick at 7:20. Sunny seems miffed that her kiss with Roxxi two weeks ago isn’t going to be repeated. With her guys losing, maybe she needs to absorb more of Sunny’s managerial prowess.

SoCal Val is with Eli Drake at ringside. “I haven’t said much the past couple of weeks because I haven’t had to. I brought Mike Bennett and Mike Kanellis-Bennett into CCW and that speaks volumes. I won back my World’s Television Title from Bob Backlund, dummy, yeah, a week after he stole it from me and that was a pretty loud statement. Then, last week, Jock Samson, dummy, yeah, stuck his nose in where it doesn’t belong. I thought I was done with him, but now we’ve got a never-was and a has-been challenging two of the greatest grapplers in the world today. But getting a good match out of either of these guys would be a miracle. It’s a good thing we’re a couple of Miracle Workers. And that’s not me bragging, that’s just a fact of life.”
“Miracle” Mike Bennet with Maria-Kannellis Bennett and Eli Drake defeated “The Appalachian Outlaw” Jock Samson by pinfall via Box Office Smash sitout side slam at 9:30. Drake nailed Samson with a low blow while Maria had referee Joey Marella distracted. Bob Backlund then runs out with a steel chair to prevent a beatdown, echoing Jock saving him last week.

Bob Holly defeated Ax with Smash at 8:38 by pinfall via O’Connor Roll. Smash gets on the apron and Ax goes to whip Holly into him, but Bob reverses and the partners collide. This allows for the rollup. Ax and Smash beatdown Bob after the match. It’s mentioned Crash is still out injured. Molly Holly runs out to protect her cousin. Demolition gives her the Demolition Decapitation.

“Soulman” Rocky Johnson with Dr. of Style, Slick defeated The Gambler by pinfall via scoop slam off the ropes at 6:26.
Slick talks with SoCal Val post match with Johnson in tow. “I’m tired of coming out here and flapping my gums about the Ultra Black Scorpion being Tony Atlas. Any child with half a brain can tell who it is. The Soulman here beat his former tag team partner at KaufMania to send that meathead out of CCW. So, he throws on a mask and is not only flaunting it in our faces, but the faces of management. Shane McMahon, if you got power around here booking In Your House, we want the so called Ultra Black Scorpion and we want his mask on the line.”
The Ultra Black Scorpion then comes out to the entrance stage with a microphone.
“You want me at In Your House? You want this mask of mine on the line? Well, you got to put up something back. Rocky Johnson, if you want my mask, I want your hair.”
Johnson starts running his fingers through his afro and freaking out. He then speaks, “This is the greatest head of hair in professional wrestling on the top of the best body belonging to the best wrestler. Me being bald will never, ever happen. But, since there is no way you can beat me. You got it and once we get that mask off you, Tony Atlas, you will be gone from CCW finally with no way of coming back.”

The Varsity Blondes (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) defeated The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers) by pinfall at 13:20 of Pillman on Rogers with a diving clothesline/powerbomb combination. The commentators mention how Sunny is suspiciously absent.
In the back, Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith still have the Koloffs chains. If they want them, come get them. They’re more than willing to face the Koloffs on their own turf in a Russian chain match. A few weeks ago, Hart said he and Smith needed to find their new direction and maybe this is it. Kicking ass and taking names without abandon.

Layla El vs. Dr. Britt Baker, DMD, ends in a no contest at 3:33 by interference from Nikki Cross. During the match, Cross comes out with a kendo stick to the commentary position and complains about how she’s had no challengers since beating Cherry Bomb at KaufMania and she will not be ignored. Her hardcore presence will rule the CCW women’s division. She then attacks both women with the kendo stick. Ivory, from commentary, calls for the rest of the women in the back to come out and Cross runs out through the crowd.
Sunny is just lounging in the back when the Varsity Blondes ask if she saw their win tonight. Oh, she was too busy doing her nails. Chris Candido and Sean Casey come up and tell the Varsity Blondes to get their bags and pull the car around. Pillman said they can do it. Oh, the Blondes get one win and act like their hot sh*t. Okay, you guys want to prove yourselves. Then it’s time for Sunny’s Boys to implode and see who the better wrestlers are.
