This week’s show began with the new Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch coming to the ring. She spoke about her win over Bayley at the Royal Rumble. She said this gold on her shoulder proves that without a doubt she is The Man in WWE. If you want to be The Man, step right up and take your best shot. But to be The Man, you’ve got to beat The Man and there ain’t no one man enough to beat the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. Lita came out to congratulate Lynch and tell her that she was ready to beat The Man. Bayley came out and told Lita that she inspired her to become the positive Role Model she is today, but respect aside, she needs to get in line. As the ex-champ who had her title stolen from her, she gets the first title shot. She wants her re-match. Lita said that for someone who claims to be a Role Model, Bayley is excruciatingly bad at it. Bayley didn’t like that comment and attacked Lita. Lynch pulled Bayley off Lita. Bayley grabbed the belt and tried to hit Lynch with it. Lynch ducked and dropped Bayley to the mat with the Dis-arm-her. Bayley tapped.
Roman Reigns defeated Penta El 0M by pinfall at 7:26 to qualify for a spot in the Elimination Chamber match. Penta tried to give Reigns a diving double-foot stomp, but Reigns rolled out of the way and connected with a Superman punch. After that, he gave Penta a spear for the win.
WWE United States Champion WALTER defeated Bo Dallas by pinfall at 5:13. WALTER lit up the Social Outcast with devastating chops until his chest looked like raw meat. Adam Rose tried to help Dallas. It was moderately successful, but in the end, WALTER brought Rose into the ring and powerbombed him. Then, he powerbombed Dallas onto Rose. WALTER pinned them both to get the win.
In a backstage interview with Mean Gene, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin blamed John Cena for his loss to Sting at Royal Rumble, and said he’ll open a can of whoop ass on him if he sees him anywhere in this building tonight. Also, because he isn’t the World Champion, now he’s got to wrestle a qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber to another chance at the title at WrestleMania, so next week, ol’ Stone Cold’s gonna stomp a mudhole into John Morrison and there ain’t nothin’ he can do about it, and that’s the bottom line ‘cause Stone Cold said so!
Ember Moon defeated Paige by pinfall at 11:13. Paige had Moon set up for a Paige-Turner, but Moon slipped free and countered with a snap DDT. After that, Moon went to the top rope. When Paige got to her feet, Moon dove off and executed the Eclipse to secure the win.
Randy Orton defeated Irwin R. Schyster by pinfall at 10:26. IRS got help from Bobby Roode and James Storm before the bell rang to beat down the Apex Predator. Only a few minutes in, IRS went for the Write-Off, but Orton ducked, hit the breaks, and executed a snap powerslam for a 2-count. Orton battled back, leading to IRS leaving the ring and suckering Orton into following him. IRS threw Orton into the barricade to regain control. Orton managed another comeback. He executed a superplex and pinned him. After IRS kicked out of the ensuing pinfall attempt, Orton waited for him to get up before executing the RKO and pinning him for the 3-count.
In a backstage interview with Mean Gene, John Cena said that Steve Austin only had himself to blame for his loss at Royal Rumble. Cena said he didn’t want to see Sting’s title defense come to an end because of Austin’s cheating. Worse yet, Austin eliminated him from the Royal Rumble when he wasn’t even a legal participant in the match! Cena says that he isn’t looking for trouble, but if Austin wants it, Cena will give it to him. Then, we heard “Stone Cold” Steve Austin calling him out from off screen. The camera turned to see Austin headed in his direction. A large number of officials flooded the scene to keep these two superstars separated.
Mean Gene welcomed Royal Rumble winner Daniel Bryan to the ring to congratulate him on his win and for earning a shot at the UWA Universal Men’s Championship at WrestleMania II. Bryan spoke for a few moments, but his celebration was interrupted by “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, who said that Bryan didn’t outlast 29 other men in that match. DiBiase pointed to video evidence that showed him fall under the ropes on a Daniel Bryan running high knee. He was never officially eliminated. DiBiase told Bryan that he wants the title shot and he’s prepared to give Bryan enough Benjamin Franklyn’s to turn him into his very own Million Dollar Man if he relinquishes the title shot opportunity to him. Bryan said his WrestleMania title shot wasn’t for sale. DiBiase said that everything’s for sale. He just needs to figure out Bryan’s price. DiBiase told him he would double the offer. $2 million for the title shot. The offer is on the table for a week. Next week, DiBiase will bring the money and all Bryan has to do is bring the contract.
Kenny Omega defeated Jose Estrada Jr. by pinfall at 4:42 to win his first official singles match in WWE. Omega executed a V-Trigger to knock out Estrada and get the easy pin. Savio Vega and the other members of Los Boricuas tried to attack him after the match but the Young Bucks came to the ring for the save.
Mean Gene got a word in with Rowdy Roddy Piper, who made a big return to the WWE at Royal Rumble. Piper gave Mean Gene the big scoop – there would be another big return next week on Smackdown. The Piper’s Pit will be back and he’s landed the biggest guest possible – the Smackdown World Champion Sting!
The Undertaker defeated John Bradshaw Layfield by pinfall at 13:17 to qualify for a spot in the Elimination Chamber match. JBL went for a Clothesline From Wall Street, but The Undertaker knocked him down with a big boot instead. A chokeslam and the Tombstone piledriver quickly followed.
