CCW Wednesday Warfare Episode 28
Commentators: Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel
Ring Announcer: Mike McGuirk
Interviewer: SoCal Val
Referees: Tommy Young, Joey Marella and Aubrey Edwards
Caudle and Mantel rundown the program for the day and then welcome “Lionheart” Chris Jericho to talk about his Universal Title Match at KaufMania: What’s Causing Aldis with Nicholas Aldis of the York Foundation. Jericho says Aldis could be in CCW more than he is, but he’d rather run and hide. It means he doesn’t have to face Jericho and he doesn’t have to make excuses when his Dork Foundation gets their asses kicked. This draws out Marcus Alexander Bagwell who challenges Jericho to a match next week. Jericho agrees if the Dork Foundation is banned from ringside. Bagwell agrees if Tits Magee is banned from ringside too. Bagwell runs down Magee, who comes out and stands behind him. Magee then says, “That’s Tom.” Bagwell screams and backs off. Before leaving he tells Jericho he’ll get his next week.

Twizted Sizterz ("The Beautiful Nightmare" Katarina Winter and "The Midnight Diva" Roxxi Laveaux) and Cherry Bomb defeated Nikki Cross, Victoria Vachon and Leva Bates with Downtown Bruno at 7:18 by pinfall of Laveaux on Bates. Cross spears Bomb and goes ground and pound on her before the bell. They roll out to the floor. Bomb gets free and runs out through the crowd with Cross following. The bout then becomes a regular tag match. The finish comes when Downtown Bruno has the referee distracted and Roxxi attempts to spray Bates with the purple voodoo mist before she can cheat. Leva ducks and sprays Vachon on the apron, who falls to the floor. A shocked Bates eats a kick to the gut, swinging neckbreaker, Voodoo Drop for the victory.
Crash Holly sits on a bench in the locker room and stares straight ahead as Bob Holly gives him advice for the upcoming tag team battle royal where the winning team gets the UWA Universal Tag Team Title shot at KaufMania. Bob says to don’t be aggressive, hang back, watch what’s going on, stay away from the ropes, try to go after guys your size like Simon Gotch or Bobby Fulton and, for the love of God, don’t go after a giant like Yokozuna. Crash jumps up, tells Bob that this is his match to win or lose, not him. He’s not going to be Bob’s robot in the match, he's going to wrestle it his way and win. And when he wins, not only will he get the title shot, but Crash will have more say in their partnership. Bob reminds him if he goes out first, then he follows what Bob says no matter what. Crash laughs, not going to happen.

“The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff with “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff defeated “The Appalachian Outlaw” Jock Samson in 3:34 by pinfall. Standing toe to toe with the Big Russian slugging away just makes him mad. He damn near takes Jock’s head off with a Russian Sickle. Gorilla press slam. Leg drop.
Post match, Ivan for Nikita, challenges Hogan to a flag match at KaufMania, but not the usual capture the flag crap. The winner will have their country’s flag hung high above the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida, and their anthem played. Nikita then growls about how he will break Hogan for good and we can see if he truly bleeds red, white and blue as he claims.
Marc Mero addresses Kurt Angle in a pre-taped promo: “Everyone has me as the underdog going into KaufMania, facing Kurt Angle for the CCW Gulf Coast Title belt. I’ve been the underdog my whole life. My parents divorced when I was 8-years-old, a broken nose ended my boxing career, and, yeah, as Angle said, I was saddled with some bad gimmicks and bad luck in the wrestling business, including the end of my marriage. But I never complained. I just kept moving onto the next, better thing for myself. Angle, since you’ve been back, all you’ve done is whine about how you were a victim of budget cuts and deserve to still hold the Gulf Coast Title on a technicality. That doesn’t sound like a man with intelligence, integrity and intensity to me. But, me, I’ve lived your Three I’s my whole life without wanting to be praised for it like you. I’ve got the intelligence, integrity and intensity to beat you at KaufMania and this underdog will finally be the top dog.”

Bob Backlund defeated Big Bully Busick with Downtown Bruno at 5:58 via submission. Busick hits a body slam, but misses a knee drop. Backlund with a spinning toehold. Busick kicks him off into the ropes. Bruno jumps up and drops Bob neck first over the top rope with the referee looking the other way. Busick with a Dominator and goes up to the second turnbuckle for an elbow drop and misses that. Backlund with the Crossface Chickenwing for the victory.
Post match, Backlund talks with SoCal Val on the outside. Val mentions Backlund is undefeated in singles competition the past several weeks since losing to Ron Killings at Winter Wonderland. Backlund feels like he’s on a good road in Continental Championship Wrestling. He’s on a champion’s path, but he knows you have to crawl before you can walk. He didn’t get that shot at the Gulf Coast Title, but he feels there’s another belt he’s proven himself worthy of going after, the CCW Television Title. This draws out “Sensational” Sherri Martel who represents Eli Drake, the TV Champion.
She tells Backlund that he’s washed up and old. Drake is the new hotness. He looks amazing and he wrestles even better. Backlund couldn’t last five minutes with Drake. Backlund tells Sherri to give him a non-title bout on Superstar Saturday. If he lasts five minutes, then he gets the title shot at KaufMania. Sherri scoffs and agrees.

Taya Valkyrie defeated Layla El at 5:19 by pinfall. Taya ducks the Lay Out and catches Layla as she gets up with a roundhouse kick. Road to Valhalla. Valkyrie bends Layla over her knee and teases spanking her, the crowd encourages her to do it and she does to a pop.
“Superstar Billy Graham walks by “The Man with the Hands of Stone” Ronnie Garvin sitting on a bench in the locker room taping his hands. Graham laughs at him. He doesn’t have a match tonight, what is he getting ready for. Garvin shakes a taped fist at Graham. He wanted a little visual aide for his challenge to Graham at KaufMania. It’s time to see who has the hardest punch in CCW. The best way to do that is a taped fist match. Graham accepts and hopes Garvin has dental insurance for when his teeth go rolling across the mat like chiclets.

“Superstar” Billy Graham defeated “Mega Man” Tom Magee by pinfall at 8:50. Graham is befuddled by Magee’s strength and agility for most of the match. Magee has Graham up for the Mega Driver, but Bagwell comes out on the entrance stage talking trash. This allows Graham to slip out the back and shove Magee into the referee, knocking Joey Marella down. Bagwell runs into the ring and hits the Blockbuster on Magee. Graham with a belly to belly suplex and Marella recovers to count the pin. Jericho runs out and chases off Bagwell, then he checks on Magee post match.
Pre-taped promo from “Mr. USA” Tony Atlas: “Rocky Johnson, for weeks, I’ve just wanted to know what you and Slick were planning. You want a loser leaves town match at KaufMania. You want that to also be an I Quit match. There is no quit in me. I don’t know the meaning of the word. You might remember a referee had to stop a match between us in the past because I wouldn’t give up. We were friends, we were partners, but no more. Pack your bags, Rocky, because you’re taking a slow train back to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, after I beat you at KaufMania.”

Big E Langston defeated Bad News Brown at 7:43 via pinfall. Brown goes for a kick and Langston catches his foot. Brown tries the Ghetto Blaster and Big E ducks it. He shakes his head ‘no’ as Brown stands and Langston impresses with his own Ghetto Blaster. Big Ending for the finish.
Pre-taped promo from Universal Women’s Champion Sasha Banks: “Tessa Blanchard wants to prove how bad she is by wrestling two nights in a row. Tessa Blanchard says she’s going to leave KaufMania as Tessa Two Belts. Blanchard talks a lot and says very little. I’m not saying Blanchard isn’t a great wrestler, but she doesn’t know her limitations. She’s a big fish in a little pond, but I’m the biggest fish in the biggest pond as Universal Women’s Champion. I’m the first lady to hold this belt and I’ll be the best ever. Blanchard is just a peon here in CCW and I’m the Boss of the Universe.”

Crash immediately goes after Yokozuna at the bell and is tossed first thing. He throws a fit on the floor. Everyone then gangs up on Yoko and pushes him out all together, with Keirn and Gotch also falling out as collateral damage. Jannetty goes for a flying cross body on Smith, is caught and thrown out with a fall away slam. Ax and Mutilate team up to toss Fulton and Garrison. Fish and Ortiz eliminate each other and brawl to the back. Hobbs with a double clothesline on Ax and Mutilate. Smith is caught on a Thesz press and eats a spine buster. JYD dumps Dory Jr. He comes over to help Hobbs with Ax and Mutilate. They get the Demolition contingent out. Hobbs offers a handshake, the fans tell JYD not to take it, he does and eats a short arm clothesline. Hobbs delivers the Big Thump on Dog and mocks his barking. He goes to throw JYD, but he grabs the top rope and holds on tight with one arm and collars Hobbs with the other arm. This allows Smith to slip in from behind and upend both to the outside. Smith and Hart get the UWA Universal Tag Team Title bout at KaufMania. The officials try to seperate Hobbs and Dog on the floor as we fade.
