CCW Superstar Saturday: Episode 43
Taped at the Andy Kaufman Studios in Dothan, Alabama
Commentators: Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel
Ring Announcer: Mike McGuirk
Interviewer: SoCal Val
Referees: Tommy Young, Aubrey Edwards and Joey Marella
The show opens with Col. Robert Fuller, Vice President of Operations, and two security team members viewing the line of people outside the studio from earlier in the day. Everyone seems to be holding a “Phil was Xtreme” sign. The phrase was spray painted on Fuller’s wall at the end of Wednesday Warfare when the Gulf Coast title belt was stolen. Fuller asks a fan where he got the sign. He said two guys in hoodies and sunglasses were passing them out. He points to the end of the line where two guys are handing out the last of their signs.
Fuller yells at them and runs toward them with security in tow. The men run off and a van pulls up, Another man in a hoodie and sunglasses is driving. The side door slides open and another man helps to pull the other two in. The Gulf Coast Title belt can be seen in the back of the van. The door closes as the van speeds off. “Phil is Xtreme” is painted on the side of the van in red. Fuller curses as they drive off.
We go live into the studio with Caudle and Mantel. Mantel talks about how he’s feeling after getting attacked by Braun Strowman on Wednesday Warfare. Footage is shown, including the challenge from Big E Langston to Strowman for Winter Wonderland.
Nikki Cross defeated “Voodoo Queen” Roxxi Leveaux in 5:37 by pinfall via swinging fisherman’s neckbreaker. Afterward, she talks with SoCal Val about how she will win the Women’s Terrific Tussle and go onto KaufMania to challenge for the UWA Women’s Title.

The Patriot and The Junkyard Dog defeated The Varsity Blondes (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) with Sunny by pinfall of Patriot on Garrison via Patriot Missile at 9:13. Sunny throws a fit post-match, so JYD takes her over his knee and spanks her.
Bob Holly confronts his cousin, Crash Holly in the back. He wants to know what the hell he thinks he’s doing facing Nikita Koloff in a singles match. Crash wants to prove he doesn’t need Bob and he can carry his own weight. Crash is going to get destroyed. Well, if he does, it will be as a man on his own two feet and he won’t bring Bob down doing it.

“The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff destroys Crash Holly in 3:23 via pinfall by Russian Sickle. Crash uses his speed to keepaway from Nikita to start and even knocks him down with a dropkick, but as soon as Koloff catches Holly, it’s over. Nikita looks for a post match beat down, but Bob runs out and pulls his cousin out of the ring while jawing at Nikita.
SoCal Val is at ringside with Ronnie Garvin and Billy Graham again. Graham said he’s sick and tired of standing at ringside flapping jaws with Garvin. He’d rather be in that ring jacking some jaws with these meat hooks of his. He shows his big right hand. Garvin said that’s what he wants to talk about and challenges Graham to a match at Winter Wonderland. A little friendly match. As Garvin says this he puffs up his chest and gets in Graham’s face. Graham repeats ‘a little friendly’ match as he moves closer to go nose to nose with Garvin. They scowl at each other to the break.

Terry Funk is with his brother at ringside with his brother. Eddie Kingston wants to put a hat on a hat with a branding iron bull rope match at Winter Wonderland. He thinks he can go more Texas than Funk? Not possible. You wear your cowboy boots, you wear your cowboy hat, you bring your branding iron to the ring. You go ahead and play dress up, because Funk is the real thing. Santan and Ortiz then run out. Ortiz and Dory go into the ring for their match. Terry and Santana fight off.
Ortiz defeated Dory Funk Jr. by pinfall at 8:40 via fireman’s carry brainbuster.

Ron “The Truth” Killings and Chris Candido with Sunny defeated Bob Backlund and “Marvelous” Marc Mero by pinfall at 12:33 of Candido on Backlund. Backlund has Candido in the crossface chicken wing. Killings goes around the outside and pulls Mero off the ring. That draws the referee’s attention and Sunny sneaks into the ring and nails Bob with her loaded purse. Candio escapes the hold and hits a double arm DDT.
A pre-taped promo from Hulk Hogan has him talking about the inferno match with Yokozuna. Hogan had a dream that he and Yokozuna were standing on top of a towering inferno. Flames were licking all the way around. Hogan could hear the Hulkamaniacs screaming from inside the burning building. “Help us, Hulkster. Help us, Hulkster,” they screamed. Then Andy Kaufman appeared in the fire dressed as the devil holding a pitchfork. He laughs with delight and that upsets Hogan. So, he picks up the 1,000 pound Yokozuna and body slams him straight through the building, smothering the flames and saving all the Hulkamaniacs. You may be laughing now Kaufman, but you won’t be after Winter Wonderland.

Dr. of Style, Slick is at ringside with SoCal Val. Power Station will win the title belts at Winter Wonderland. Then they’ll go onto KaufMania to fight the UWA Tag Team Title Champions and take those belts too. Then they’ll defend both titles against the Funks, the Koloffs, the Hollys, everybody and their brothers, their grandmothers and their dogs. And don’t think Slick has forgotten about Junkyard Dog and the Patriot, that non-team will get there’s too. And don’t think Slick has forgotten about Rocky Johnson vs. Tony Atlas. Johnson is off getting bigger, badder and meaner than ever and when they hear what they’ve got in mind for you Atlas at KaufMania, you won’t like it all.
Molly Holly defeated Mickie James by disqualification at 10:28. Molly blocks a tornado DDT and slams James back first into the near corner. Monkey flip. Flying head scissors. Jumping facebuster. Molly goes up up for the Molly Go Round. James sees it as she comes up, hits the mat and rolls to the floor. Molly adjusts and tries to go for it on the outside, but James grabs a chair and brings it around to nail Holly as she flies out. This draws the disqualification. James screams that it shouldn’t, don’t you know who her husband is. She yells until the break.

The York Foundation (Martin Jannetty and Nicholas Nemeth) with Kamille York defeated “Lionheart” Chris Jericho and “Mega Man” Tom Magee by pinfall at 15:15 via pinfall of Jannetty on Magee. York trips Magee from the floor and Jericho goes out to get in her face. Bagwell runs out and steamrolls Jericho. This distracts the refere and Nemeth runs in for a Zig Zag on Magee. Jannetty gets the Rocker Dropper. Everyone brawls with the heels having a numbers advantage, but Jericho backs them off up the aisle with a chair.
Chris Jericho gets the microphone and from the ring yells at the York Foundation on the entrance stage. He challenges them to a six man tag team match at Winter Wonderland. Bagwell laughs. Who are they going to get? Nobody in CCW is dumb enough to tag with them against the York Foundation. Well, that might be true, because their partner will be…”Wildfire” Tommy Rich from ETW!
We then cut to the back where Col. Robert Fuller signs for a registered letter. He opens it and in bright red letters, easy for the camera to see, on a large piece of paper is “Phil Was Xtreme…And He’s Coming to Winter Wonderland.”
