Welcome to "PWX Rush"! We are here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with the PWX ready to perform in front of this sold out crowd! We see a recap of the last couple of weeks running by over some instrumental beats. We see Darby Allin beat Paul London and then get confronted by Brian Pillman, with Eric Bischoff making a match between them. We see Bill Goldberg yelling "YOU'RE NEXT!!!" We then see Kurt Angle tapping out Shinsuke Nakamura and challenging Chris Benoit, and then show Chris Benoit accepting. A quick flash of Damian Priest hitting the Reckoning on Roderick Strong and then accepting Matt Riddle's challenge. Next is the Briscoes pinning War Machine and challenging the Undisputed Era to a match to determine the first PWX Tag Team champions. The next shot is Shawn Michaels delivering the Superkick to Andrade and then a cut up of him saying, "Kenny Omega, I got two words for ya... Knock, knock".
We then cut to ringside as the crowd cheers and we are greeted by Jimmy Smith and Josh Barnett at the announcer's table.
They talk about how things are heating up in a big way heading towards the PWX's cable television debut, "PWX 9", and tonight we will see title challenger Bill Goldberg in action, taking on hard hitter Low Ki! Josh Barnett then points out that Chris Benoit is going to be action tonight against former amateur wrestling stand out Charlie Haas, who is affiliated with and trains with Kurt Angle, Benoit's opponent for "PWX 9". We will also be hearing from Brock Lesnar, who will be speaking to Dasha about title defense in Philadelphia on Thanksgiving night. And finally, we have "The People's Champion" DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE in the main event of the episode, taking on the sinister Kevin Kross.
They send things over to Tony Chimel in the ring, who is ready to introduce our first competitors of the evening!
MATCH ONE
STANDARD RULES
1 Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Bill Goldberg (2-1) vs. Low Ki (0-1)
Referee: Tim White
The announce team are hyping up Goldberg a bit here, as they talk about his title match at "PWX 9". The bell sounds and Goldberg turns and yells at Low Ki to bring it...
THE ENTIRE ARENA IS JUMPING! GOLDBERG HAS BEEN KNOCKED OUT COMPLETELY!
"HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!"
The commentary team at first is yelling out, and then they go quiet, as this was clearly... unexpected.
Low Ki looks like he is going to continue to attack Goldberg, but Tim White gets in between them and calls for the bell.
Winner by Knock Out: Low Ki
The video cuts back to the announcer's table, as they try to cover for this and banter, as they clearly have some time to fill here. You can hear Goldberg yelling after about 15 seconds, as the fans are chanting and raucous. Jimmy Smith makes sure to remind everyone that anything can happen in the PWX.
We go backstage, where we see Kurt Angle huddled up with Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.
The camera tries to sneak up on them and we can hear Angle talking about attacking Chris Benoit's leg and trying to snap it before Angle notices the camera.
"HEY, PAL, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOIN'? GET THE HECK OUT OF HERE! MIND YOUR OWN FREAKIN' BUSINESS! JESUS!"
Angle settles down a bit.
"Can a guy get a little privacy around here!? Forget it! It's time for the match, anyway..."
Angle grabs Benjamin and Haas by the shoulders and pushes them down the hall, looking back and mumbling something else under his breath towards the camera.
MATCH TWO
STANDARD RULES
1 Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Charlie Haas (0-0) vs. "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit (1-1-1)
Referee: Chad Patton
The match starts off with some pretty good back and forth chain wrestling, but Benoit starts to light up Haas with the chops and it gets pretty hairy. Benoit grabs Haas from behind and is looking for a German Suplex, but Haas reaches back behind him and catches Benoit in the eye with a finger! Patton breaks it up and gets between them. Haas is protesting it was an accident, while Barnett on commentary says he isn't so sure about that. He thinks Haas might have been panicking as he felt the tide turning. After Benoit is given a period to regain his vision, we get back at it, but Haas delivers a basement dropkick, taking Benoit down. Haas grabs Benoit's ankle and locks him into the Ankle Lock! Benoit is hurting, but he manages to get to the ropes... but Haas isn't letting go! Haas just keeps cranking it on! Patton gives him the five count, but Haas is just going crazy, cranking the Ankle has hard as he can and Patton calls for the bell. Haas continues to crank the Ankle as Patton screams in his face, and the bell is ringing.
Winner by Disqualification: Chris Benoit
Kurt Angle and Shelton Benjamin run down, as do other officials and security personnel. Angle and Benjamin tell Haas to let go and he lets go. The security guard look like they want to grab Haas, but Angle and Benjamin ask them to back off and let them take him to the back. Angle can be heard saying he kind of lost it there and they are going to go talk to him about it, and he is sure he is really sorry. The fans are booing the roof off and chanting, "YOU SUCK!" at Kurt Angle as Benoit is selling the ankle injury on the ground, holding it and rolling on the mat.
Angle and Benjamin walk Haas to the back, as Haas looks unhinged. The doctors are checking on Benoit, but Benoit is shoving them away and rolls out of the ring, yelling about this being "BULLSHIT!" Benoit asks for a microphone, and Dasha approaches with one. "Chris, I don't think this is a good idea..."
"SHUT UP!!"
The fans are cheering Benoit as Dasha looks taken aback, while Benoit looks tonbe in intense pain.
"Angle! You're a dead man!"
Benoit limps to the back, hopping on his good leg, as the fans chant his name.
We go ringside, where Jimmy and Josh explain that they were going to have a pre-taped interview with Brock Lesnar shown, but after the events of the opening match, they have decided not to show it. It is at this point that Eric Bischoff makes his way out to the ringside area, and approaches the announcer's table.
Bischoff takes the microphone and talks to Jimmy and Josh.
"Hey guys, I'm sorry to interrupt here, but I have a major announcement to make. Due to the circumstances surrounding the opening match of the evening, and the events directly following, we have been forced to make a drastic change to 'PWX 9's' main event. As you all know, it was going to be Brock Lesnar defending the PWX Premier Championship against Bill Goldberg. We now are openly scouting a new challenger for the championship..."
A HUGE CHEER FROM THE CROWD, and a "FUCK YOU, GOLDBERG!" chant breaks out. Bischoff stoically stands and listens, waiting for the chaos to die down.
"We will be weighing our options, talking to agents, and seeing what we can do, but I promise you all, from the bottom of my heart, we are going to give you a night you will never forget at 'PWX 9', and as you all found out tonight... expect the unexpected."
The fans are chanting for "PWX" now, as Bischoff walks off and leaves this in the hands of Jimmy Smith and Josh Barnett.
MATCH THREE
X DIVISION RULES
1 Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit, No Holds Barred, No Count Outs
Diamond Dallas Page (2-0) vs. "The Tollman" Kevin Kross (2-0)
Referee: Charles Robinson
The fans are going crazy for DDP, who has them eating out of the palms of his hands. Kross gets in some good offense early, and really works DDP over, smashing him into the corner and working the crowd. Kross delivers a Running Boot and goes for a cover, getting a two count. DDP pulls himself up on the ropes as Kross taunts the crowd. "The Tollman" turns and runs, trying to attack Page, but DDP drops down and pulls the top rope with him, sending Kross out over the top, getting a huge pop! DDP then heads up top, and every is on their feet! DDP flies off the top and to the floor, smashing Kross with a Double Axe Handle! DDP is the one taunting the crowd now. He goes to grab Kross, but Kross sends a chop up into his throat! DDP drops down, holding his wind pipe. Kross looks down on DDP like he is pathetic, before walking over to the time keeper. Kross grabs the ring bell and then looks over at Jimmy and Josh.
"TIME'S UP!"
He then turns and viciously bashes Page to the back of the head with the ring bell!
The fans are going berserk, booing the hell out of Kevin Kross, who is just laughing like a villain in a James Bond movie. Kross tosses the bell off to the side as DDP is being checked by the ringside doctor. Page is shoving him off and kicking upwards in Kross's direction. Page grabs the apron and is pulling him up and Kross decides to go back in for the kill. Kross pulls up Page and after taking a few blows to the body, Kross lays into Page with a knee and then sends him flying into the ring steps!
Kross is smiling again, as DDP wretches in pain on the floor. Kross makes a big sweeping motion, calling for the end. Kevin pulls DDP up by his hair and slaps him across the face, very hard and disrespectfully, before rolling him into the ring. Kross then slides in. He stalks DDP... he's waiting for him to get up, and Page is pulling himself up, willing himself to keep fighting. The fans are chanting, "DDP! DDP! DDP!" as Josh Barnett comments on just how tough DDP is. Jimmy Smith says that once you start talking about a guy in a match like that, it's usually a bad sign. Kross closes the distance as Page gets up, looking for the Doomsday Saito, but Page THUMBS HIM IN THE EYE!
Jimmy Smith yells out that it is legal in an X Division match!
Kross is holding his eye in pain as the fans cheer and Page grabs him...
DIAMOND CUTTER! It's all over, as the fans are on their feet! ONE, TWO, THREE!
Winner by Pinfall: Diamond Dallas Page
After the match, DDP motions for Dasha to get in their with him. The fans are buzzing as Kross rolls out of the ring, looking pissed but also accepting defeat. Dasha is smiling and congratulates Page. Page pulls her in close and wraps his arm around her shoulders.
"YOU KNOW WHAT, I LOVE THIS PLACE! LOOK AT THESE PEOPLE!"
The fans are chanting, "DDP! DDP!"
"And you know somethin', Dasha? When I hear these fans out here goin' ballistic night in and night out, I feel like I'm already champion of the world!"
The chants are just getting louder.
"Brock Lesnar! The vanilla gorilla! Yo, monkey boy, you need a dancin' partner at 'PWX 9"!? Brotha, I'm ready to tap dance all the way to Philly! You and me for the belt! People's champ versus the Premier CHUMP! How about it!?"
The fans are wanting to see that, as Dasha and DDP look around these cheering fans.
Dasha responds.
"I think these people would love to see that."
"Yeah, well, Eazy E better make it official in the back, cause it's time for Brock Lesnar to FEEL. THE. BANG!"
And with that, Jimmy Smith signs off for himself and Josh Barnett and this show comes to an end.
