CCW Superstar Saturday on SCA, episode 34
Taped at the Andy Kaufman Studios in Dothan, Alabama
Commentators: Bob Caudle and Dutch MantelRing Announcer: SoCal Val
The show opens with highlights from the CCW World Title match at Destination Dallas with Eddie Kingston winning over Nicholas Aldis in a ladder match. Caudle said we’ll hear from the new champion and the former champion on today’s show. We’ll also see the man who made his presence known in the contest, Ronnie Garvin. However, right now, Andy Kaufman and Thunderlips are in the ring. We see the segment from Destination Dallas where they are surprised by Mr. T coming out.
Andy Kaufman is dressed like normal with Thunderlips standing behind him. The invitation for Destination Dallas was for Rocky Balboa, not Clubber Lang. If he wants to stick his nose into business where it doesn’t belong, fine. Thunderlips can and will destroy any opponent put in front of him. If he’s got to go through Mr. T to get to ‘Rocky Balboa,’ so be it. And they will do it on Kaufman’s home turf. Everyone knows he’s from Hollywood and he’s going home for Hollywood Homecoming. In the land of the stars, Mr. T will be seeing stars. He demands Mr. T to be on Superstar Saturday next week to either commit to the match or admit he’s overstepped his boundaries and he’s backing down. Oh, and bring Balboa with you, but we doubt that will happen.

We get a vignette of Magee waking Jericho up at 5 a.m. for a run. Chris puts the pillow over his head, but Magee yanks the blankets off and throws a bucket of water on him. Jericho leaps to his feet and looks like he wants to fight Magee, but Tom reminds him that he has to do what Magee says or he sits out the rest of his contract. Okay, okay, let Jericho get a cup of coffee and a cigarette. Here’s a protein bar and a smoothie. It’s time to run. He’ll start Y2J out slow this morning, they’ll just do five miles.
Back to the ring, our next competitors are ready to go. Sunny said Chris Jericho nor Tom Magee has the fitness and the stamina where it counts, if you know what she means. “Pretty Boy” Sean Casey thinks he’s handsome, knows he’s hot and all the girls want him whether they like it or not.

Eli Drake is the Honky Tonk Man’s guest on Honky’s Chateau. Drake says he’s undefeated since returning to Continental Championship Wrestling and he’s been given nothing. He deserves at least a TV Title shot against “Superstar” Billy Graham and better get it. Jock Samson comes out and tells Drake he’s also undefeated in singles matches since coming to CCW. Yeah, by count out. That’s like kissing your sister, which Samson probably knows all about. Jock challenges Eli to a match next week with the winner getting a TV Title match.

Test of strength to start. Busick is winning, but Garvin comes back and takes a kick to the gut. Busick with clubbing forearms to the back. Gutwrench suplex. Busick flexes. He goes to pick Ronnie up and he delivers several punches to the gut. Busick gets thrown into the ropes and eats a shoulder block. Garvin off the ropes, but misses a knee drop. Busick with punches. He whips Garvin into the corner and nails a spear. He sits Garvin on the top ropes and goes to climb, but Ronnie punches him away. Top rope sunset flip gets a two count. Garvin puts his shoulder into Busick as they stand. He has the big man up on his shoulders. He turns to each side of the crowd and then delivers an F5. One…two…thr…Bruno jumps on the apron. Garvin breaks the cover and goes over to him. Garvin with a Superman punch to knock Bruno off the apron. He turns around to find a wobbly Busick trying to get up. He stumbles into the Stone Cutter (inverted stunner).
WINNER: Garvin by pinfall at 7:13
Ronnie Garvin goes over to the commentary position and is immediately interrupted by Nicholas Aldis. He tells Garvin he didn’t interrupt the world title ladder match out of a sense of right and morality, but because he was trying to leapfrog the rest of the roster in getting a world title match. Garvin denies that. If that’s true, then forgo any offered world title match for Hollywood Homecoming and face him instead. Ronnie agrees. He’s then jumped from behind by Buff Bagwell. Aldis proclaims Marcus Alexander Bagwell the newest member of the York Foundation.

WINNERS: Funks by pinfall of Dory over Dick at 10:20
The Funks go over to the commentary position. Terry opens the briefcase and shows the $20,000 they won from the Ewing Family King of the Trios Tournament (the other $10,000 went to Serena Funk). Terry said they’re willing to put the money up against the new tag team champions Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith at Hollywood Homecoming. The Funks’ money versus their belts.

As we come back from the break, Carmella is ranting and raving at the commentary position about her loss at Destination Dallas. She blames the referee, JR Ewing, the fans, Lita cheated, she had something in her eye, etc. Baker comes out and Caudle mentions how she had a guaranteed title shot for winning the fatal fourway at Destination Dallas. Baker is an expert when it comes to mouths and Carmella needs to shut hers. Maybe the only person Carmella should be blaming for her loss is her. Carmella slaps Baker. Baker slaps Carmella. They start catfighting and work into the ring for an impromptu bout.

Blanchard gets a mic and says she doesn’t care who won what or who slept with who to get a CCW Women’s Title match. That’s her belt and she wants it back.

Big E Langston
Langston gets in the ring and Eddie hands him the microphone. He was serious about what he said at Destination Dallas after winning the dog collar match against Junkyard Dog. Big E smells like smoke, because he’s walked through fire. He’s done dressing like a unicorn and tossing pancakes to the crowd. He knows people said he went the comedy route, because if he failed it wouldn’t matter. Well, it matters to him and he’s not laughing now. If Eddie Kingston is the man of integrity and respect he says he is, he’ll let Big E prove he’s the serious, career focused wrestler he claims to be now. Kingston says ‘that’s what I’m talking about.’ He shakes hands with Langton. Big E then pulls Eddie into a short arm clothesline. Big Ending. Big E takes the belt off of Kingston and holds it up to a booing crowd as we fade.
