CCW Superstar Saturday on SCA, episode 31
Taped at the Andy Kaufman Studios in Dothan, Alabama
Commentators: Bob Caudle and Dutch MantelRing Announcer: SoCal Val
The commentators preview today’s show, including the start of the Ewing Family King of the Trios Tournament and the first TV Title defense by new champion, Billy Graham. They’re cutoff as music hits and Andy Kaufman leads Thunderlips, the Ultimate Male to the ring. He’s dressed like he was in Rocky III and has women hanging off each side of him.
Kaufman talks about how Thunderlips is the new face of CCW and will make Continental Championship Wrestling the top promotion in the Mash Up Wrestling Universe. Thunderlips gets on the mic and demands another match with Rocky Balboa. He’ll make the ultimate meatball into the ultimate chump if he has the guts to show up at Destination Dallas. Kaufman tells Rocky (with a big wink to the camera) that he better show up or everybody will know what a coward he is. Caudle and Mantel are super confused and don’t know what to say. They do mention how Rocky Balboa is a character played by Sylvester Stallone, so are they calling him out for Destination Dallas?

Ewing Family King of the Trios Tournament opening round match
Holly Cousins (Bob, Crash and Molly) vs. The Vaudevillians (Aiden English, Simon Gotch and Leva Bates) with Downtown Bruno
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Everybody works with each other a bit through quick tags. Leva winds up working Crash and gets the better of him by blocking a hip toss, then reversing into one of her own. She then follows with a basement dropkick to the back. Bob just hangs his head on the apron. Tag to Gotch, who misses a back elbow off the ropes and Crash nails him with a flying crossbody. Leva then hangs her head on the apron. Tag to Bob. They do a double team gut buster. English runs in to take the same. Bates charges at both, but they part and she takes the Molly Go Round from on high. Alabama Jam on Gotch for the victory.
Winners: Holly Cousins by pinfall of Bob on Gotch at 10:10
Cherry Bomb is sitting in the back when the Legion of Doinks come up. Matt Borne said they need a woman for the trios match later tonight and they think they have found her. They start putting on the white greasepaint and doing up her lips in bright red. They fit her with a green wig. Cherry looks really apprehensive.

CCW TV Title Match
“Superstar” Billy Graham vs. Big Bully Busick with Downtown Bruno
Referee: Joey Marella
Test of strength is a stalemate. Lockup goes nowhere for a bit. Busick gets a hammerlock, but Graham impresses by dropping down and flipping Bully over for a rear chinlock. Busick works up and elbows out. He goes into the ropes for a running big boot, but Graham catches the foot, spins him around and gives an atomic drop. Busick turns around into a clothesline. Leg drop for a cover, but Bruno gets up on the apron. Graham goes over and grabs him by the jacket. Busick nails a double axe handle from behind. He works Graham over a bit. Big Bully gets a full nelson, Graham powers out. Slug fest. Whip to the corner, followed by an avalanche from Billy. Bruno gets on the apron again and Graham whips Busick into him. He falls down. Bully trips back into a full nelson slam. Big wind up elbow drop.
WINNER: Billy Graham by pinfall at 7:43
Graham goes over the commentary position and proclaims he will be a fighting champion. He heard Tommy Rich will be out at least three months with a wrenched lower back. He hates to hear that, but Kamille York was more trouble than she’s worth and Rich was only in the bearhug so long because she distracted the referee. Kamille then walks out and then just stands there, staring at Graham. She doesn’t speak, which has been her thing. Graham tells her if she wants a go at the Superstar, just say the word. He shoulder checks her as he exits, but Kamille doesn’t budge at all.

Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith take the ring, minus their Machine masks as Samoa Joe outed them at Phoenix Re-Rising. They’re here in CCW as themselves now and will be the cream of the crop of the tag division. They won the tag team title match against the York Foundation by disqualification. That gave them the win, but not the title belts. A rematch is needed. Nicholas Aldis comes out with Martin Jannetty and Nicholas Nemeth. Aldis tells them that since they’re foreigners (even though he’s from England), they might not understand how the United States is the land of opportunity. Singular, not plural, not opportunities. They had their shot and they didn’t get the job done, just like Eddie Kingston.
Kingston takes the ring and challenges the York Foundation to a six-man tag tonight. If the York Foundation wins, they go away. If they win, it’s title rematches at Destination Dallas with them picking the stipulations. Aldis laughs, they don’t call the shots, the York Foundation does. If Aldis knows they can’t win and, even if they do, can’t take the belts at Destination Dallas, then what does he have to lose? If the York Foundation doesn’t face them, what they lose is credibility. Aldis might say he doesn’t care what the fans say, but Kingston thinks he does. Murmurs of them being cowards, whispers of the York Foundation maybe not being as good as they say they are. Prove what you’re saying or leave that question mark hanging for everyone to wonder about. Aldis scoffs. Yeah, they’re nothing to fear, so why not. Six-man in the main event.

Eli Drake vs. “Candyman” Brad Armstrong
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Armstrong uses his speed and agility to get the advantage to start. Drake catches him on a crossbody and delivers a backbreaker. Arm trap neckbreaker. He goes for the Gravy Train, but Armstrong flips out, makes his feet and turns it into a backslide. Drake flips over to his feet while still holding on and goes for a modified butterfly powerbomb, but Armstrong turns it into a rana for a two count. Into the ropes, Drake telegraphs a backdrop and Brad gets a sunset flip. Drake is flailing his arms trying to stop it, winds up grabbing onto Edwards and this allows him to sit down on Armstrong. He grabs his legs and holds on for the three count. The commentators discuss if Audrey should have called off that pin since she inadvertently helped block the sunset flip…or was it inadvertent?
Winner: Eli Drake by pinfall at 5:12

Funk Family (Dory, Terry and Serena) vs. Legion of Doinks (Steve Keirn, Steve Lombardi and Cherry Bomb)
Referee: Tommy Young
Cherry Bomb is in full Doink face makeup with wig. Keirn and Lombardi get a double atomic drop on Terry, which he comically oversells. He turns around into a double clothesline. They pick him up and tag Bomb who comes off with a vertical splash onto Terry. This gets a close three count, but Terry stands while holding onto Cherry rapped around his face. He stumbles back and tags Serena, who flies in from on high with a clothesline into a powerbomb by Terry. Serena covers while Dory and Terry take on the Doinks.
Winners: Funk Family by pinfall of Serena on Cherry at 8:30

The Soul Patrol come up to the New Day in the back. Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas went and got the only sister on the roster to be their partner for the trios tournament. Layla El comes in and tell New Day that’s she’s sorry about their luck, they should have courted her first. Say that again, she repeats herself. Wait…are you British? A Brit ain’t no sister. They then mock Layla’s accent. Suddenly, Big E turns his head, pats Kingston to turn and look, then he taps Woods to turn and look. Langston points and says that’s a sister. The camera turns to show Taya Valkyrie’s rear end as she’s bending over rooting around in her bag. They go over and ask her if she’d like to ride some big, black stallions down the road to Valhalla. Johnson said Taya’s a white girl. Woods replies hey, it’s not about what’s in your genes, it’s about what’s in your jeans. Taya seems to like the attention and says they can talk about the offer.

“The Man with the Hands of Stone” Ronnie Garvin vs. “Iron” Mike Sharpe
Referee: Joey Marella
“The Man with the Hands of Stone” Ronnie Garvin vs. “Iron” Mike Sharpe
Referee: Joey Marella
Lockup into a side headlock for Sharpe. Garvin breaks with a back suplex. Both up and Mike tries a big boot off of the ropes. Garvin grabs it for a leg whip and works a grapevine on the mat. Sharpe breaks by raking the eyes from behind. He’s admonished by Marella. Sharpe pounds on Garvin and scores a body slam. A knee drop gets a two count. He goes to a bear hug, but Garvin slugs out. Superman punch off the ropes. Garvin Stomp. Figure four leg lock.
WINNER: Garvin by submission at 5:37
Garvin goes to the commentary position after the match. Chris Candido beat him at Phoenix Re-Rising, but it took his three friends and Sunny to do it. Ronnie’s mama told him if he didn’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. So, he’ll keep his mouth closed on that female dog. A crowbar might hit hard, but the Hands of Stone can hit even harder. Sunny’s boys can enjoy the Cadillac they won from the match, but as long as Ronnie Garvin is in CCW, they will never be able to ride easy.

Six Man Tag
York Foundation (Nicholas Aldis, Martin Jannetty and Nicholas Nemeth) with Kamille York vs. Eddie Kingston, Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith
Referee: Tommy Young
Aldis surprises by saying he wants to start with Kingston. Eddie goes in for a lockup, but Aldis doges and gets a drop toehold. He keeps Eddie grounded and tags Jannetty, who comes in with a series of stomps. Into the ropes and Marty telegraphs a backdrop, to take a big kick by Kingston. Hooking lariat. Kingston brings Jannetty up with an arm bar into an arm wringer. Tag to Hart. Owen comes in from the top with a double ax handle to the arm. He works the arm for a bit and then tags Smith. Davey Boy takes over on the arm, going into a hammerlock slam. Dropping headbutt for two. Whip to the corner, but Marty gets a turnaround crossbody off the second turnbuckle. Tag to Aldis. Nick with boots to Davey Boy and he bring him up into a butterfly hold, but before he can do anything, Smith backdrops out. Aldis moves on a knee drop. Blockbuster gets a two count. Side Russian leg sweep gets a two count. Tag to Nemeth. He wants the Zig Zag, but Smith blocks and turns it into a uranage. Tag to Kingston. Fisherman’s suplex gets two. T-bone suplex gets two. Into the ropes, Eddie gets a jumping lariat. He gets Nemeth up in a fireman’s carry. Jannetty and Aldis run in, but Kingston spins Nick around and he knocks into the other two and sends them to the floor. Hart and Smith fight with them on the outside. Kingston stops the spin and turns it into a fireman’s carry gutbuster. Backfist to the Future.
Winners: Kingston and the Foundation at 17:58 by pinfall of Kingston on Nemeth.
