LUCHA BROS. vs. WORLD’S GREATEST TAG TEAM : Shelton Benjamin tagged Charlie Haas. They grabbed Rey Fénix and gave him their superkick into a bridging German suplex combo. The pinfall was broken up by Penta El 0M. Penta ducked an attack from Benjamin and gave him a sling blade. He did the same to Haas. He gave Benjamin a superkick, then took him out to the ring apron where he was setting up for a package piledriver. As he did his Cero Miedo hand gesture, he was clipped at the heels by a large man, who pulled him to the floor and gave him a ura-nage. In the ring, Fénix was whipped to the ropes. He did a handspring springboard cutter to Haas. Jim Cornette jumped onto the ring apron to grab the referee’s attention. The large man entered the ring and took Fénix down with a spinning heel kick. He picked him up and rag dolled him with a bearhug that it turned into an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. After he left the ring, Haas put Fénix in the Haas of Pain to make him tap out. (13:21) -- Winners by Submission: World’s Greatest Tag Team
Mean Gene spoke to Pete Dunne, who said that WWE finally knows who he is. Beating the “Phenomenal” AJ Styles was no fluke. Dunne plans to fast-track his rise to the top of WWE by winning a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match next week. Mean Gene asked Dunne if he was aware that his opponent will be the The Undertaker. Dunne asked if that was supposed to impress him. He said that another Phenom will fall to the Bruiserweight and at Money in the Bank, Dunne will be the man holding that golden briefcase in his hands.
KEITH LEE vs. FABIAN AICHNER : Fabian Aichner had a few good moments in this one. His best opportunity at scoring the victory came after he executed a missile dropkick followed by a double-springboard moonsault. Lee kicked out. Aichner tried to give him an Irish whip, but Lee was an immovable object. He eventually reversed it and nailed Aichner with a pounce. After executing a few more moves, Lee gave him a Spirit Bomb to get the win. (5:39) -- Winner by Pinfall: Keith Lee
MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFIER: NIKKI CROSS vs. BAYLEY : Nikki Cross hit Bayley with a diving shotgun dropkick and covered her for the pin. Bayley kicked out at two. Cross went back up to the top rope and executed a diving crossbody. He cover another cover for a two-count. Cross picked up Bayley and tried to give her a running bulldog, but Bayley pushed her away into the ropes and then executed a Bayley-to-Belly suplex on the rebound. She made the pin for a 2-count. Bayley climbed the turnbuckle and went for a diving elbow drop, but Cross rolled out of the way. Cross attempted a vertical suplex, but Bayley slipped free and took her down with a roll-up. She grabbed Cross’ tights for added leverage and got the 3-count. (10:35) -- Winner by Pinfall: Bayley
Mean Gene spoke to Bobby “The Brain” Heenan to get an upgrade on his scouting talent for the Heenan Family. The Brain said he has seen some good wrestlers but wouldn’t reveal who he has impressed him the most. Besides, there was a lot talent to scout, and it wouldn’t be right to get anyone’s hopes up. Joining the Heenan Family is a privilege for only the biggest and brightest superstars. Until he makes his final determinations of who those superstars are, he won’t be making any offers. When asked when he would begin recruiting talent, he told Mean Gene that he would find out when the rest of the world does.
KAIENTAI vs. FTR : Taka Michinoku and Sho Funaki convincingly argued that they would win their WWE debut because they are pure EVIL. INDEED they were evil, and that led to Taka executing a Michinoku Driver on Cash Wheeler and pinning him for the 1…2… Dax Harwood broke it up. Later, Wheeler and Harwood executed the Shatter Machine on Funaki. Harwood pinned him and they got the win. Just to be dicks, they attacked Taka when he was checking on his fallen partner and gave him a Mindbreaker spiked piledriver. (8:56) -- Winners by Pinfall: FTR
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns came to the ring accompanied by his advocate Paul Heyman. He stood silently and allowed Heyman to do his talking. Heyman claimed that he and his client calmly waited for Reigns’ next challenger to emerge last week on RAW, but no one came forward. A week later, still no one has put their hat in the ring. Heyman said that the only reason that could be is because no one is brave enough to give it the old college try because every in the locker room is afraid to challenge his client. They fear him because Reigns is no normal champion. He is the Tribal Chief and the head of the Anoi’a family table, the most honoured, respected, and feared family in sports entertainment. He is a man who was born and bread to become the best superstar this sport has ever seen and he is living up to that promise. Bret Hart – defeated. John Cena – beaten. Hulk Hogan – conquered. Roman Reigns has no peers and no one is crazy enough to dispute this one universal truth.
Bagpipe music filled the arena. Moments later, Rowdy Roddy Piper emerged on the entrance stage. He walked down to the ring, and all animated like only he can, disagreed that no one was crazy enough to dispute that so-called universal truth. Piper said that if Reigns was looking for a challenger, then buddy, you’re looking at him! Heyman agreed that Piper was out of his mind. Piper told Heyman that he didn’t know the half of it and slapped Heyman across the face for proof. Reigns immediately jumped Piper. They brawled until Reigns executed a Samoan drop and then a spear. He stood over top of Piper’s body, holding his belt in the air while looking down at him. Piper, clutching his ribs, began to laugh and shouted, “is that all you’ve got?!” Reigns sat down on him and threw several fists at him. The ring flooded with officials, who struggled, but eventually managed to pull Reigns off of Piper. Heyman was rubbing his cheek when Reigns picked up the microphone and told Piper he would get the next shot at the WWE Universal Championship. Not because he’s earned it, rather because anyone who puts their hands on his advocate will be made to suffer at the hands of Tribal Chief.
MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFIER: IVORY vs. RUBY RIOT : Ruby Riot executed a Riot Kick and pinned Ivory to get the 3-count and the victory. With the win, Riot became the second wrestler to qualify for the women’s money in the bank ladder match. (6:11) -- Winner by Pinfall: Ruby Riot
MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFIER: KEVIN OWENS vs. JOHN MORRISON : John Morrison got an early assist from The Miz to take control of the match and dictate the pace. While he is incredibly athletic and highly skilled at quick attacks and high-flying maneuvers, Morrison chose instead to ground Owens and try to keep him there. He applied cravats, chinlocks and headlocks, and peppered Owens’ body with knee strikes. It was a strategy that worked for a long time. When Morrison decided to go to the top rope to start an aerial attack, that is when Owens got back into the match. He tripped up Morrison and took him to the mat with a spinning fisherman’s superplex. That was the beginning of a rally that ended with Owens hitting a stunner to get the win. (12:42) -- Winner by Pinfall: Kevin Owens
Mean Gene spoke to AJ Styles, who said that he was looking to enter the title hunt. He wants to go after the Intercontinental Championship. Daniel Bryan entered the picture and said that Styles needs to prove himself first as if anyone should get the next shot at the title, it is him. Styles said that Bryan already had his chance at Wrestlemania and he blew it. Bryan challenged Styles to a match next week to find out who is most worthy of an Intercontinental Title match. Styles accepted. Mean Gene reminded them that if Guerrero wins tonight’s main event, he’ll get the next shot at Ricky Steamboat. They both laughed and said that he wasn’t winning tonight. When asked if they knew who his opponent was, they both said they did, but wouldn’t reveal who it would be.
RHEA RIPLEY vs. BRIE BELLA : Rhea Ripley made short work of Brie Bella. She wasted no time putting her in the Prism Trap and making her tap out. After getting the win, she got on a mic and said that if Mickie James wants to tap out to her at Money in the Bank, then she’s got it. (2:50) -- Winner by Submission: Rhea Ripley
REY MISTERIO JR. vs. EDDIE GUERRERO : The returning Rey Misterio Jr. was Eddie Guerrero’s mystery opponent. Misterio was all that was standing between Guerrero and a second chance to challenge Ricky Steamboat for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Misterio and Guerrero fought a very technical contest punctuated by moments of lightning quick speed and amazing offensive maneuvers. When holds were applied, they were frequently countered or reversed. For two men who knew each other so well, it was no surprise that the match was evenly contested and the action went back-and-forth. In the later minutes of the contest, they increased the frequency of high-impact attacks and pinfall attempts. After Guerrero executed the Three Amigos, he climbed the turnbuckle. Misterio quickly popped up and tripped him up on the top rope. Misterio attempted a frankensteiner, but Guerrero grabbed the top rope to block. He lifted Misterio up to his shoulders for a powerbomb, but Misterio broke free and brought Guerrero off the top turnbuckle with a facebuster instead! He went out to the ring apron and waited for Guerrero to get up before jumping onto the top rope to springboard off and execute the West Coast Pop. He hit it flawlessly. He had the legs hooked in. 1…2…3! Misterio was victorious in his return. Guerrero was pissed off and attacked Misterio during his celebration. He gave Misterio a brainbuster. He was going to give him another one, but Penta El 0M and Rey Fénix came to the ring and Guerrero fled from the ring. (14:48) -- Winner by Pinfall: Rey Misterio Jr.
