#DIY vs. TH2 : The craftiness of Jack Evans gave his team the advantage through a large portion of this match as he had a way of breaking the rules and always getting away with it. It enabled to bring his team to the verge of a victory, but went for a corkscrew 630-degree senton, Johnny Gargano moved out of the way and immediately put him in the Gargano Escape. Angelico broke it up, but Gargano tagged out to Tommaso Ciampa, who went on a run culminating in giving Angelico the Fairy Tale Ending. Jack Evans went to break up the pinfall, but Johnny Gargano cut him off with a slingshot spear. With the win, #DIY advanced to the end round of the NXT Tag Team Championship tournament. (14:04) Winners: #DIY
An injury report on the status of American Alpha’s Jason Jordan aired. It told us that Jordan would be out of action for 2-3 months. At the end of the injury report, there was a backstage interview with his tag team partner, Chad Gable, who said that Jordan was already well on the road to recovery, and when he returns, they will be going after the NXT Tag Team Championships. In the meantime, Gable is going to look for singles success. His first match in singles competition will be next week against the NXT Champion, WALTER. Gable said that he is an intimidating man and one of the best wrestlers in the world, but he cited his amateur credentials, including competing at the Olympics, as a reason not to sleep on Chad Gable.
TONI STORM vs. PEYTON ROYCE : Billie Kay garnered a lot of attention by being loud and shrill, but she wasn’t much of a factor in this one. She attempted to stop Toni Storm’s momentum, but Storm moved out of the way of Peyton Royce’s attempt to attack her from behind and Royce accidently knocked Kay off the ring apron. Just after that, Storm hit Royce with a thrust kick and executed Storm Zero for the win. (7:53) Winner: Toni Storm
“The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne was interviewed about competing in the NXT Tag Team Championship tournament. Dunne said that he wasn’t a tag team wrestling, but he doesn’t mind giving it a try if it means he has a shot at gold. He was asked about his tag team partner, Adam Page. He has seen some of his matches and thinks Page is a fine wrestler, but he’s never met nor spoken to Page, so isn’t sure what to expect from him as far as a partnership is concerned. Just then, Adam Page walked in on the interview and said he’d been looking all over for Dunne. He said he just found out that he’s teaming with Dunne next week. Page said that he doesn’t like tag team wrestling and prefers to do things his own way, but he’ll work with Dunne to get some gold. He asks Dunne if he wants to go out to a bar to grab some drinks and get to know each other. Dunne isn’t particularly interested in drinking. Page then asked if Dunne was hungry and said he knew of a great steakhouse nearby. Dunne told him he was vegan. The segment ended on a long awkward pause as Page wasn’t sure what to say.
KEVIN OWENS vs. ALEXANDER WOLFE : Kevin Owens and Alexander Wolfe engaged in a stiff brawl that spilled out to the floor on more than more occasion. When Wolfe missed a senton bomb, Owens rallied, hitting cannonballs, clotheslines and suplexes on Wolfe. He gave Wolfe a pop-up powerbomb, but wasn’t able to make the pin as Fabian Aichner jumped into the ring. Owens took care of him in short order with a stunner. Marcel Barthel also tried to attack, but he also received a stunner. When Owens turned his attention back onto Wolfe, he received a bicycle kick and a bridging fallaway slam for a 2-count. Wolfe lifted Owens onto his shoulders, but Owens elbowed and kneed him to the head. When he was back to his feet, Owens immediately kicked Wolfe in the abdomen and gave him a stunner. He pinned him for the win. As Owens was getting his hand raised, WALTER hit him with a lariat from behind. As he stomped on Owens, other members of Imperium joined in. WALTER gave Owens a folding powerbomb. Imperium posed over Owens’ fallen body with Dvorak’s 9th Symphony playing as the show went off the air. (10:26) Winner: Kevin Owens
