BETH PHOENIX, BIANCA BELAIR & MICKIE JAMES vs. BAYLEY, NIKKI BELLA & RUBY RIOTT : The team of Bayley, Nikki Bella and Ruby Riott fell apart when Bayley and Bella couldn’t agree on who would get the pinfall for their team after Bella executed the Rack Attack on Mickie James and Bayley reached in to make the blind tag, then jumped in and tried to get the pinfall. Bella broke it up and they began to argue. Bayley tagged Riott and then walked away from ringside. However, if abandoning her team wasn’t enough, she ran back down, pulled Bella off the ring apron and gave her an arm trap headlock driver on the floor. Riott was left to fend for herself. That didn’t go well for her. She received a Mick Kick from James, a Glam Slam from Beth Phoenix and a 450-degree splash from Bianca Belair, who then hooked her leg and got the 3-count. (13:30) -- Winners: Beth Phoenix, Bianca Belair & Mickie James
Mean Gene Okerlund spoke to Paul Heyman, the advocate and representative of Roman Reigns to get his thoughts on Reigns’ upcoming match at Elimination Chamber against WWE Universal Champion Hulk Hogan. Heyman said that his client believes and he knows that he is the better man, the better wrestler, and the better role model for all the members of the WWE Universe. And what better way to be a great role model for the WWE Universe than by becoming the WWE Universal Champion – a task that isn’t too tall for Roman Reigns to do? Many men have quivered in fear and fallen at the hands of the great, immortal Hulk Hogan, but not this man. This man is taking his rightful place at the head of the table. The ring is his yard and Hogan is about to learn that lesson the hard way at Elimination Chamber. However, this is one little nagging question that keeps eating away at Heyman. What will John Cena do? We all saw at the contract signing that he attacked his client. Will he do it again? Heyman says he wouldn’t put that notion aside. Cena has shown his true colours – he is clearly biased against his client. It’s why he turned his back on Reigns and through him out of the Royal Rumble and it’s why he put Reigns through a table at last week’s contract signing. If Reigns doesn’t win the WWE Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber is will be because of the crooked officiating of John Cena. But if Cena would only do the right thing, then one thing is guaranteed: at Elimination Chamber, Roman Reigns will be the new WWE Universal Champion!
AJ STYLES, EDDIE GUERRERO & RODDY PIPER vs. JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD, TED DIBIASE & TRIPLE H : Unlike with the six-woman tag team match featuring all the Elimination Chamber competitors, this match didn’t see either team fall apart. Both teams worked well together. Triple H played nice with Ted DiBiase and John Bradshaw Layfield. AJ Styles, Eddie Guerrero, Rowdy Roddy Piper stayed on the same page. Beer Money Inc. joined commentary but got up from the commentary table to execute Drinking While Investing on Guerrero, on the floor in front of the commentary table. He was rolled into the ring for DiBiase to cover, but Piper broke it up and a brawl ensued. Piper and Triple H brawled outside the ring and into the crowd. DiBiase was sent out of the ring with a dropkick from Guerrero, who then executed a plancha on DiBiase, Bobby Roode and James Storm, who were helping The Million Dollar Man get to his feet. Back in the ring, JBL attempted the Clothesline From Wall Street, but Styles ducked it, then took JBL down to the mat into the Calf Crusher to get the submission win for his team. (21:54) -- Winners: AJ Styles, Eddie Guerrero & Rowdy Roddy Piper
Mean Gene Okerlund spoke to Hulk Hogan to get his thoughts on his upcoming title defense against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber. Hogan said that he felt betrayed by Reigns. He thought of him as a brother, but now that he’s gone into business with the snake oil salesman, Paul Heyman, he is a different person. He doesn’t recognize him. He doesn’t mean any harm to Reigns, but he knows that Reigns means him hard, and the Hulkster isn’t afraid to defend himself. He’ll do whatever it takes to win the match for all the Hulkamaniacs out there. Mean Gene Okerlund says that Paul Heyman doesn’t think John Cena will be a honest and fair officiant and wonders what Hogan thinks. He tells him that he knows Cena is an honest man and he trusts him to do the right thing. He’ll play it by the book because Cena has hustle, loyalty, and respect, and that’s something he can get behind, brother!
IVORY vs. JAZZ : Ivory gave Jazz a run for her money in the early going, but Jazz began to dominate with her power moveset on the way to making Ivory submit to Bitchlock. After getting the win, Jazz kicked Ivory out of the ring, looked at the camera, and said that she will dominate Ripley at Elimination Chamber. (7:16) -- Winner: JAZZ
Mean Gene Okerlund spoke to John Cena to get his thoughts on having been named the special guest referee for the WWE Universal Championship Match at Elimination Chamber. Cena said that he was surprised to be named the guest referee. He said he wasn’t expecting it, and if it were up to him, he wouldn’t be doing it. Mean Gene asked him about Paul Heyman’s concerns that he would exercise bias against his client Roman Reigns. Cena said that he hasn’t approved of Reigns’ actions as of late, but that wouldn’t play any role in how he officiated their match. He vowed to call the match straight down the line; fair and square. A backstage crewperson handed Mean Gene a note and he told Cena that he has just received news that, in preparation of officiating at Elimination Chamber, Cena will be refereeing tonight’s main event. Cena didn’t look too pleased about that.
HULK HOGAN & KEITH LEE vs. ROMAN REIGNS & MARK HENRY : Special guest referee John Cena got a lot of flack from Roman Reigns, Mark Henry, Paul Heyman, and Jim Cornette. He was the subject of a steady stream of criticism, and accusations of favouritism towards Hulk Hogan and Keith Lee. As the match wore on, he appeared to grow increasingly agitated, but managed to maintain his composure. The end of the match came when Mark Henry dropped all his weight on Hogan with a running splash. He hooked a leg for the cover, but Hogan kicked out. Henry, Heyman and Cornette complained of a slow count. Meanwhile, Hogan hulked up. Henry tried to hammer away at him, but he got to his feet and made the comeback. Most impressively, he gave the over 400-pounder a bodyslam.
As Hogan cupped his hand to his ear in all directions, Reigns entered the ring. Cena saw him and intercepted. Cena held him at bay, but he kept trying to pass and then taunted Cena to hit him. Both Heyman and Cornette got on the ring apron to complain at his actions as Hogan gave Henry the running leg drop. Hogan had enough time for the 3-count, but Cena was busy. Meanwhile, the World’s Greatest Tag Team, ran down and attacked Keith Lee. They hit with shots from a steel chair and then whipped him into the steps. They entered the ring to attack Hogan, but he blocked the chair shot, ripped it from the hands of Charlie Haas and took care of he and Shelton Benjamin.
Cornette was freaking out and pointing out Hogan with the chair. Cena turned around and caught him with the chair in his hands. Hogan said it wasn’t what it looked like. Cena decided he had no choice and called for the bell. The official announcement from Howard Finkel was that Reigns and Henry won by DQ. Hogan continued to plead his case. Cena heard enough and turned away. Hogan put his hand on Cena’s shoulder. He shook him off aggressively and threatened to punch him. That’s when Reigns ran over and gave Hogan a spear. Heyman smiled like a hyena as Reigns backed away all the while looking Cena dead in the eye. (17:42) -- Winners: Roman Reigns & Mark Henry
