AMERICAN ALPHA vs. THE WYATT FAMILY : This very competitive match had many nearfalls. As the match wore on, one had the feeling that the result could have gone either way. It appeared that American Alpha was on the verge of victory as Jason Jordan lifted Luke Harper up into a belly-to-back pop-up, but as he was setting up for this, Erick Rowan ran over Chad Gable with a big boot. Rowan caught Harper and spun him out into a discus clothesline on Jordan. Then, Rowan gave Gable a full-nelson slam. After they gave Jordan a double-clothesline out of the ring, they executed a double-crucifix bomb on Gable to win the match and qualify for the WWE Tag Team Championship tournament. (17:24) -- Winners: The Wyatt Family.
JAZZ vs. NIKKI BELLA : Nikki Bella rolled out to the floor to halt Jazz’s momentum. Brie Bella climbed back into the ring in her place. After a dropkick and a Brie Buster, she made the pin, but the referee recognized it was the wrong Bella and stopped his count at two. An argument ensued. Nikki came back into the ring, but Jazz gave her a Jazz Stinger. However, then, she received a running big boot from Rhea Ripley, who followed it up with the Riptide. She put Nikki on top of Jazz and left the ring. It was enough to cost Jazz the match, and give Nikki Bella a spot in the women’s elimination chamber match. (8:17) -- Winner: Nikki Bella
JOHN CENA vs. ELIAS : Elias was ready to show the world that John Cena was washed up and overrated. At least, that’s what he told us in a song he played while he came to the ring. However, things didn’t work out the way he had hoped. Cena gave Elias a spin-out powerbomb and the Five Knuckle Shuffle right before lifting him onto his shoulders and executing the Attitude Adjustment to put an end to his night. (5:32) -- Winner: John Cena
REY MYSTERIO JR. vs. “MILLION DOLLAR MAN” TED DIBIASE : Five minutes into the match, Mysterio’s friend Eddie Guerrero came out to counterbalance Beer Money’s presence at ringside. Later, he made a complaint that caused Roode and Storm to be banished from ringside. Mysterio got DiBiase in position for the 6-1-9, but JBL got up from the commentary table and pulled DiBiase out of the ring. JBL and Guerrero got into a bit of a shoving match and Mysterio went over the top rope with a topé con hilo, taking out JBL. While the referee was busy trying to get Guerrero away from the actual participants in the match, DiBiase poked Mysterio in the eyes and threw him into the ring steps. DiBiase gave Mysterio a sit-out piledriver on the floor, then took him into the ring and pinned him for the win. With his win, DiBiase earned a spot in the men’s elimination chamber match. (10:51) -- Winner: “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase
A contract signing was held for the WWE Universal Championship match at Elimination Chamber. Hulk Hogan, Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and Vince McMahon were all present. Everyone got to say a few words. Heyman boasted about his client’s superiority in the ring and guaranteed that Hogan could not and would not defeat him. Hogan said that he was ready to show the world that Hulkamania is as strong as ever and it will run wild on Reigns. He told Hogan that there is a changing of the guard. He said that he’s the head of the table now, and there is no place at the table for Hulkamania anymore. A new champion will be crowned at Elimination Chamber. After Reigns signed the contract, he through the pen in Hogan’s face. Heyman laughed. Hogan stood up from the table and grabbed Reigns by the wrist. Reigns punched him. They brawled. Officials were unable to gain control. Then John Cena ran out to try to help. His attempt to get in the way failed. Hogan pushed him out of the way and Reigns gave Hogan a spear. Reacting to Reigns behaviour, Cena picked up Reigns and gave him an Attitude Adjustment through the contract signing table.
When the broadcast came back from commercial break, Vince McMahon was interviewed backstage. He said it was clear that no normal referee would be able maintain order should things get out of hand between Hogan and Reigns at Elimination Chamber, so he has decided that there will be a special guest referee for that match, and that referee will be John Cena!
DANIEL BRYAN & RICKY STEAMBOAT vs. THE MIZ & JOHN MORRISON : Daniel Bryan got John Morrison with a running high knee and went for the pin, but The Miz was able to jump in and break up the pinfall just in the nick of time. Bryan fought off The Miz, knocking him over after a few kicks, and then tagged out. Ricky Steamboat climbed the turnbuckle and waited for Morrison to get to his feet. He dove off, going for the crossbody, but The Miz shoved the referee into his path. With the referee knocked down, a brawl broke out. The Wyatt Family, who were on the losing side of a tag team match against Bryan and Steamboat two weeks ago, came out and helped The Miz and John Morrison. Harper gave Steamboat a superkick into a full-nelson slam by Rowan. They grabbed Steamboat and put him through the commentator’s table with a double-crucifix powerbomb. Back in the ring, The Miz gave Bryan the Skull-Crushing Finale and then Morrison gave him Starship Pain. With the win, The Miz and John Morrison qualified for a spot in the WWE Tag Team Championship tournament. (18:34) -- Winners: The Miz & John Morrison
