DANIEL BRYAN vs. ALEX SHELLEY
The show starts with this hot singles contest. Bryan and Shelley worked quickly, but also slowed the action down to grind each other down with a variety of submission holds. There were many impressive maneuvers executed by both men. Bryan applied a heel hook that nearly forced a submission out of Shelley, but he showed his grit by crawling to the ropes. Later, he executed Sliced Bread #2 on Bryan and pinned him, but Bryan got a shoulder up. About another minute later, Bryan escaped the set up to Shellshock and countered it with the Yes! Lock to force Shelley to submit. After Bryan won the match, the World’s Greatest Tag Team attacked him. Benjamin gave him a superkick and Haas executed the bridging German suplex. They quickly left the ring when Ricky Steamboat ran down. (16:32)
Winner: Daniel Bryan

Jonathan Coachman catches up with Daniel Bryan and Ricky Steamboat backstage. They say that Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas are upset that the two of them have proven to the world that Haas and Benajamin are not the world’s greatest wrestlers, which is clearly why they keep getting attacked by them. Well, Bryan and Steamboat have an idea for next week. They want to go in the ring for a tag team match against Haas and Benjamin, and when they do, they’ll prove to the world that they aren’t the World’s Greatest Tag Team either.

PETE DUNNE vs. JOAQUIN WILDE
Joaquin Wilde worked quickly and took the early advantage, but Pete Dunne wasn’t overwhelmed by his speed. He had quick reflexes and when Wilde went for a springboard hurricanrana, Dunne countered it into a sit-out powerbomb. He manipulated Wilde’s joints with clinical precision and before long he had Wilde in a kimura lock. Raul Mendoza tried to help his partner escape, but Dunne gave him a snap release German suplex and then gave Wilde the Bitter End and pinned him for the win. (7:34)
After Dunne’s win, the lights in the Canadian Tire Centre went out and came back on. Up on the big screen was The Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt congratulated Dunne on getting his win. He said he liked his scrappy blue-collar, nose-to-the-grindstone fighter’s spirit and attitude. He said that he had no doubt it would get him far in the world of sports entertainment, but the problem is that getting far right now means he has to go through Bray Wyatt. As a benevolent man, he’s offering Dunne the opportunity to walk away so he can fight another day. But if he choses to fight, he will put him down like the mangy street dog he is. The WWE Universal Championship is calling out one name and it isn’t Pete Dunne. It’s Bray Wyatt.
Winner: Pete Dunne

EMBER MOON vs. BAYLEY
Ember Moon frustrated Bayley in the early going by having an answer to each of her attempts at offense. When Moon found the right opening, she went on the attack to great success. Bayley needed to get out of the ring to gain the upper hand, which she did by shoving Moon into the barricade and then giving her a German suplex into the side of the ring steps. Bayley stomped on Moon until the referee’s count was at eight and then quickly dove into the ring. Two seconds later, the match was over and the referee reluctantly raised Bayley’s hand as she was announced the winner by countout. (5:25)
Winner: Bayley

Rowdy Roddy Piper entered the Canadian Tire Centre to a huge ovation. He walked up the steps and into the ring where he demanded a microphone. Then, he told everyone in attendance that he had come to the ring and would refuse to leave it until he got what he wanted – and what he wanted was a fight with Kevin Owens. Piper called several variations of the word coward before Owens’ music hit and he entered the arena.
Owens casually walked down the entrance ramp with a steel chair in one hand and a mic in the other. He said Piper was delusional. He said he was ready for a fight – and he looked like it – and that he would show him why it was a mistake to ever call the Prizefighter a coward. Piper didn’t move. He let Owens enter the ring and as Owens approached, ready to swing, Piper revealed a baseball bat hidden underneath his leather jacket and kilt. They swung their weapons at the same time and Owen’s chair went flying out of his hands. Piper swung at him again, but Owens ducked and slid out of the ring. He complained that Piper wasn’t fighting fair. Piper got out of the ring and chased Owens around it with his bat. The fans started chanting coward at Owens as he ran up the ramp and out of sight, with Piper in hot pursuit.
Returning from the commercial break, we got footage of Owens getting into his car to leave. Piper caught up with him and knocked a rear-view mirror off the driver’s side, put a dent in the door and smashed the driver’s side window before Owens was able to get the car in reverse and burn rubber to get out of there.

OWEN HART vs. CHARLIE HAAS
This was a good technical contest. Hart and Haas were about the same size and both had a background in amateur wrestling. They kept things on the mat through the first several minutes of the match, applying holds, countering and reversing them. Eventually, they picked up the pace and showed off their athleticism. Hart came close to picking up the win off a leg-feed enzuigiri kick, and Haas was mere inches from getting a 3-count with a fisherman’s suplex. However, in the end, Hart flipped through a release German suplex to land on his feet, gave Haas a step-up enzuigiri and then applied to sharpshooter to get the win in his home country’s capital. (12:18)
Winner: Owen Hart

CHRIS SABIN vs. SANTOS ESCOBAR
This was an evenly fought contest. It a classic cruiserweight affair, fought often at a fast pace and with plenty of high risk, high flying moves throughout. There were close calls for both men. When Sabin got Escobar into a tree of woe position, he gave him a hesitation dropkick and then waited for him to get up before giving him a springboard tornado DDT. He went for the pin, but Escobar got a shoulder up in the nick of time. Sabin lifted him onto his shoulders and gave him the Future Shock. However, the referee didn’t count the pin. He was distracted by Raul Mendoza, who was on the ring apron. Sabin got up and knocked him off the ring apron with a superkick. Joaquin Wilde was out and he argued with the referee, providing Escobar the distraction he needed to give Sabin a low blow. Alex Shelley came out and fought with Wilde, but he was too late to help his partner from the Motor City. Escobar picked up Sabin and gave him the Thrill of the Hunt and got the three count for the win. (9:45)
Winner: Santos Escobar

Jonathan Coachman was standing by for an interview with Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle. Jericho had harsh words for the Hart Foundation and Samoa Joe. He said they were all ducking Le Champion. Bret Hart was too much of a chicken shit to get in the ring with him one-on-one because he knew he’d prove that Jericho deserved the title shot. He said Joe doesn’t deserve to be referred to as the champion of anything. Finally, he said that in tonight’s main event, Santana and Ortiz would destroy the Hitman and the Anvil (not unlike how Jericho destroyed him last week).

HART FOUNDATION vs. STREET PROFITS vs. PROUD & POWERFUL vs. THE WYATT FAMILY
With four tag teams in our main event and one fall to a finish, the action was fast and furious. Each team had an opportunity to shine and they made the most of their opportunities, but it wasn’t easy to get the win with five wrestlers lurking around ready to break up a potential 3-count pinfall attempt. The match devolved into a brawl after Angelo Dawkins and Santana dove in to break up a Luke Harper pinfall attempt on Montez Ford. Bodies were thrown and tossed from the ring, then thrown and tossed into barricades, ring steps and turnbuckle posts. Back in the ring, Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart gave Santana the Hart Attack. Harper and Erick Rowan gave Neidhart a double crucifix powerbomb. Dawkins and Ford gave Harper a pop-up spinebuster and frog splash combo. Then, Santana and Ortiz executed the Street Sweeper on Ford and got the 3-count before anyone else could get in the ring to break it up. (13:58)
Winners: Proud and Powerful
