CCW Superstar Saturday on SCA, episode 14
The camera pans the Andy Kaufman Studios in Dothan, Alabama, and then comes upon the commentary team of Gorilla Monsoon and the Honky Tonk Man.
GM: Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Gorilla Monsoon here with the Honky Tonk Man. We’re one week removed from the WarGames Gauntlet with a finish none of us could have predicted.
HTM: But everyone believes it if you know anything about the Dirtiest Player in the Game. Ric Flair had Brian Cage as a mole inside Triple B from day one and he struck when the time was perfect.
GM: And, if anything, that gives Continental Championship Wrestling one heck of a double main event for Holiday Havoc on Dec. 6. “Nature Boy” Ric Flair will be challenging for the MUW Men’s Title against either Samoa Joe or Harley Race, depending on the outcome of Starrcade for WCW. And Dave Bautista will defend the Southeastern Heavyweight Title against “The Fifth Horseman” Brian Cage. But, right now, we have a special announcement from CCW owner and promoter, Ron Fuller.
Fuller enters and shakes hands with Monsoon. He and HTM just kind of glower at each other. Fuller knows HTM supports his business partner, Andy Kaufman, much more.
RF: It’s no secret that CCW has exploded over the past few months thanks to an influx of new talent…
HTM: And money from Andy Kaufman.
RF: And because of that we understand one show on Saturday mornings here on Sports Channel America isn’t enough to showcase all the great grapplers we have. That is why SCA has given us another hour block in the middle of the week. Wednesday Warfare will debut this week with the commentary team of Bob Caudle and “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert.
HTM: Wait, I’m the premiere color commentator here in CCW and I should…
GM: You’re on salary. You don’t get paid by the show.
HTM: Oh, never mind then.
RF: And we have two big matches announced for that first show. “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig will defend the CCW Wild Card Title in a rematch with “The Man with the Hands of Stone” Ronnie Garvin. As per the rules of that title, Hennig gets to pick the stipulation and he has chosen a ladder match. Also, there will be a triple threat for the CCW Gulf Coast Six-Man Titles with the champions, the Powers of Fear, defending against SCU and the Ultimate Blade Runners.
Before he can go further, Dave Bautista comes out and into camera frame. He gets right up into Ron Fuller’s face.
DB: I don’t hear anything about you addressing what that maggot Brian Cage did at WarGames Gauntlet.
RF: Look, champ…
DB: Damn right, I’m the champ and I call the shots around here. And I don’t want to wait until Holiday Havoc for that traitor. I want him right here, right now.
The fans cheer as Bautista jumps into the ring.
RF: That’s not how we do things around here…
The Revival of Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson come in and start beating Bautista from behind. They whip him into the ropes, but he comes off with a double flying clothesline to put both men down. He starts pounding on them, but then Ric Flair comes in and caps Dave in the back of the knee with a lead pipe. The Butcher and the Blade then come out and chase off Flair and the Revival to the floor.
RF: Stop! This stops now! You all want at each other. That’s today’s main event. The Four Horsemen vs. Triple B and until then I want none of you having contact with each other.
Ric Flair gets the microphone. We see Bautista telling Butcher and Blade he’s okay, even as he holds his knee in the ring.
Flair: Dave Bautista wants to cry over how he was fooled. It’s not my fault that the three men in the ring right now maybe have three brain cells total to rub between them. I gave Brian Cage the day off for his good work, complete with some expensive champagne and wild women. But, if you want some action Bautista, we’ll give it to you. Woo!

Edge vs. “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Lockup to start goes into a side headlock. Snuka pushes Edge off into the ropes and gets a big back body drop. Jimmy drops an elbow, but Edge rolls out of the way. He comes up quick and hits an arm drag. He works the arm on the mat, but Snuka works up and shoots Edge off into the ropes. Edge grabs the ropes and Jimmy whiffs on a dropkick. As he stands, Edge gets a running neckbreaker. He plays to the crowd, who boos. Snuka charges, but Edge turns, evades Jimmy and hits the Winning Edge, half nelson bulldog. He pulls Snuka up, whips him into the ropes and nails him with a spear coming off.
Winner: Edge by pinfall
Edge goes over to the commentary desk.
Edge: It feels great to be here in Continental Championship Wrestling where the fans love me, but not as much as I love myself.
Edge plays to the crowd again, acting like their they’re cheering, but they’re really jeering.
Edge: And we will come away from the new Wednesday Warfare as the Gulf Cost Six-Man Tag Team Champions. And Sting better not poke his nose into that match. Because I will snap it off his stupid painted face for him.
Christopher Daniels comes out.
CD: What’s this ‘we?’
Edge: You know, SCU has the triple threat match announced earlier.
CD: Me, Kazarian and Sky are SCU. Remember, it’s SCU starring the Rated R Superstar.
Edge: I figured it’d be some sort of Freebird Rules.
CD: Freebird rules is three guys holding tag belts. This is a six-man tag title.
Edge: Well, four guys for three belts. Extended Freebird Rules. We can figure it out.
Edge and Daniels walk out in conversation.

Super Patriot Mark III vs. Paul Diamond
Referee: Joey Marella
Lockup to start. Super Patriot scores a waistlock and takes Diamond to the mat, who squirms out. Back to their feet, they lockup again. Paul gets the waistlock this time, but Patriot does a quick reversal and pushes Diamond into the ropes. They come off with an O’Connor Roll for a one count. Diamond surprises with a standing dropkick as both get up. He pulls Super Patriot up and whips him into the ropes. He sets up for a backdrop, but Patriot rolls over him for a sunset flip. It gets a two count. Diamond scores an armbar as they stand. He goes to an arm wringer. Paul presses into Super Patriot and gets him on the mat with a fireman’s carry takedown. He leaps straight up to drop an elbow and covers for two. He pulls Super Patriot up and whips him into the ropes. He flips Patriot over with a knee to the gut and scores a chinlock. The fans cheer and Patriot powers out. He throws Diamond into the ropes and knocks him down with a shoulderblock. Paul pops up and goes back to the ropes. He ducks under a clothesline attempt. Super Patriot turns as Diamond goes for a flying cross body. Patriot catches him and delivers a backbreaker. He holds on, drops Diamond as he stands and turns it into a snap suplex. He floats over for a two count. Diamond gets pulled up into an Olympic Slam, but Diamond drops behind and dropkicks Patriot into the back, sending him into the ropes. WINNER: Super Patriot Mark III by submission
As Marella raises his hand in victory, Super Patriot just happens to look toward the entrance way and catches Sheamus watching him. Sheamus just nods his head affirmatively as if to say ‘good win’ and then walks off.
“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan is at the commentary station with a thick book in his hand. He screams “ho” and the crowd replies the same. He’s wearing a Santa hat and there’s a similar hat on his 2x4.
JD: Christmas is coming! If you haven’t started shopping yet, you better get going. There’s no better place to do your shopping than the new Wish Book from Montgomery Ward, the sponsor for Holiday Havoc on Dec. 6. Look at all the great toys in here, you got your He-Man, your Cabbage Patch Dolls, your Tiger handheld games…
Duggan flips through the book until he is interrupted by Tammy Lynn Sytch.
TLS: It doesn’t surprise me you want the same things for Christmas as an 8-year-old. It does surprise me you can read.
JD: There are things in here for you too Tammy. There’s…uh…(he looks through the book) industrial strength cleaner for your shag carpeting.
TLS: I have a bare floor and it’s spectacular.
A long pause hangs in the air. Then Duggan, Monsoon and HTM all start yelling “go to commercial. Time for commercial.”

“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan vs. “Stunning” Steve Austin with Tammy Lynn Sytch
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Austin jumps Duggan at the bell with a flying knee. He beats Duggan down, but he slugs it off and comes back with a standing clothesline. Austin pops up and takes another. He pops up into another. He then rolls out to the floor and confers with Tammy. Duggan points and yells ‘ho.’ The fans scream ‘ho’ back. Austin yells at the fans as Tammy acts hurt. This allows Duggan to make the floor. He grabs Tammy and Steve by the hair and give them a double noggin knocker. He screams ‘ho’ and knocks Austin down with a headbutt. Duggan makes the ring and Austin beats the count at seven. Jim works a bearhug, which Austin breaks with a bell ringer. He leans into the ropes and comes off with a Rocker Dropper as Duggan is bent over. Fist drop gets a two count. Snap suplex with a floatover gets two. Scoop slam off the ropes gets two. Steve argues the count with Edwards. Austin whips Duggan into the corner and charges into a back elbow. He throws Austin into the corner and mounts the turnbuckles for the 10-count punches. He gets to five, when Austin brings him out of the corner with an atomic drop. Double underhook DDT. Austin mocks Duggan by setting up the three point stance. He charges and Duggan nails him with the Hot Shot. One…two…Tammy jumps on the apron and Duggan breaks the count. He goes over and grabs her by the hair. Jim acts like he’s going to hit her, but he doesn’t. He turns around into the kick, wham, stunner.
WINNER: Steve Austin by pinfall
Austin and Sytch go to the commentary position.
SA: I can’t seem to stop dealing with these scabs here in CCW. Nobody mangy mutts like Jim Duggan there and Randy Savage. Well, Savage, I’m done with 30-foot scaffoldings and steel cages. I want you straight up, no frills and no gimmicks at Holiday Havoc.
TSL: I’m also making a challenge on behalf of the Midnight Express to Strike Force. Because the Stunners know, that straight up in a real wrestling match, nobody can beat any of us.

Sting vs. Haku with Andy Kaufman
Referee: Joey Marella
Referee: Joey Marella
Sting goes for a lockup, but Haku cuts him off with a kick to the gut. He fires in the karate chops. Double chop off the ropes puts Sting down. Haku with the nerve pinch. Sting works to his feet and fires off three elbows to the stomach. He runs into the ropes, but Haku catches him with a thrust kick and then gets a belly to belly suplex. A dropping chop gets a two count. He whips Sting into the ropes and charges. Sting gets a big boot up. He goes up to the second turnbuckle and comes off with a double axe handle. Standing dropkick. High jumping knee drop for a two count. He whips Haku into the corner and gets the Stinger Splash. A bulldog brings Haku out. Scorpion Deathlock. He cranks it on. Haku has nowhere to go.
WINNER: Sting by submission
Andy Kaufman at ringside looks like a man defeated. HTM goes over the long feud between Kaufman and Sting and wonders what Kaufman has to do or who he has to join forces with to finally take out the Man Called Sting.
GM: “National Treasure” Nick Aldis, you had a great and gritty showing at the WarGames Gauntlet, but unfortunately not a winning effort.
NA: That’s the past, Monsoon, and the National Treasure is all about looking toward the future. And I want to look at New Year’s Eve and the wedding of Missy Hyatt and Austin Idol. At WarGames Gauntlet, my manager and executive consultant Kamille was goaded into serving as a bridesmaid for that travesty.
Kamille, silent as always, just looks off disgusted.
NA: What disgusts me even more is that CCW is willing to waste time on a wedding when that valuable pay-per-view time could be used for wrestling matches, because that’s what all the fans want to see. Who will get left off the New Year’s Eve show so this wedding can take place? What real wrestlers will have to sit in the back and not even get a chance to step to the pay window? A real wrestling show has wrestling matches, not weddings and costume contests. If any of Missy’s Men would like to actually know what wrestling is really like. They can see me here next week.
