CCW Superstar Saturday on SCA, episode 13
The camera pans the Andy Kaufman Studios in Dothan, Alabama, and then comes upon the commentary team of Gorilla Monsoon and the Honky Tonk Man.
GM: We’re a week out from the WarGames Gauntlet, a never before seen event in professional wrestling. We will know the order of teams entering by the end of the program thanks to a captains’ match battle royal.
HTM: And don’t forget, Gorilla, that WarGames Gauntlet on Halloween night is being sponsored by Clark Bars. I wrote a song about it, here it goes…
Honky Tonk Man pulls out a guitar from behind him, strums it once, warbles “I love Clark Bars.”
GM: Let’s go to the ring for our first match.
HTM: C’mon, Gorilla, the people want to hear…
vs.
Super Patriot Mark III vs. Kane
Referee: Joey Marella
Referee: Joey Marella
Brandi Rhodes tries to talk to Kane about him saving her last week, but he doesn’t acknowledge here. At the bell, Kane doesn’t move and just stands there. Monsoon thinks maybe Kane learned from the match the newcomer had the previous week with Big Show. Show was aggressive and got beat right away.
Patriot goes for a leg pick, but Kane catches, clobbers him a bit and then lifts him on his shoulder for an inverted powerslam. He leans deep into the ropes and comes off with a fist drop. Super Patriot moves and quickly grabs Kane’s foot for an ankle lock. Kane makes the ropes for the break. Back to their feet. Super Patriot tries to tackle Kane around the knees. Kane picks Super Patriot up, flips him around and delivers a buckle bomb. Kane picks up Super Patriot and chokes him out in the corner for a full five count and Marella has to break Kane off. He rushes in with a knee lift and hip tosses Super Patriot out to the middle of the ring. Kane with a knee drop, but Super Patriot rolls out to the floor for a breather.
Big Show then comes out and wraps his hand around Super Patriot for a choke slam, revenge from last week. Kane makes the floor and the fans pop. Big Show turns to see what’s going on and takes a charging big boot from Kane. Super Patriot rolls back into the ring. Kane and Big Show brawl until Kane is counted out. As Patriot watches the continuing fight, Eddie Gilbert slips into the ring from behind, hits a lariat from behind on Super Patriot and follows with the Hot Shot. Marella stares at Gilbert like “what the hell” and Eddie yells “he looked at me funny last week and I didn’t like it.” Gilbert plays to the crowd for a bunch of jeers.
WINNER: Super Patriot Mark III by count out
Dave Bautista with his title belt on his shoulder and Woman come out to the announce position.
Woman: Tonight is the captains’ match to determine the order for the WarGames Gauntlet. Whoever when the battle royal will have an advantage at WarGames, because their team will enter last. Dave Bautista winning tonight and Triple B winning on Halloween night is almost a certainty. If anybody in Continental Championship Wrestling should be gripped with fear, it’s not us.
DB: Ric Flair, I remember the last time the Four Horsemen went into a WarGames with Curt Hennig on the team. He turned on you to save his own butt. What that proves is the Horsemen isn’t a unit, you’ve always just been a loose group of guys looking out for yourselves. Triple B is a solid unit and with Brian Cage added we are stronger than ever. I hope the last two people in that cage are you and me Flair, because I’m going to make it painful and slow for you.

“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan vs. Chris Candido with Tammy Lynn Sytch
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Before the match, Duggan screams ‘ho’ and points at Tammy and the crowd yells ‘ho’ back. She fakes being hurt. Candido charges Duggan and they brawl. Duggan reverses Candido into the near corner and works boxing style punches. He lets off, Candido takes a step out of the corner and he flops on his face. Duggan yells ‘ho’ while pointing at Tammy and the fans yell ‘ho’ again. Jim picks Candido up, whips him into the far corner and charges with a clotheslines. He mounts the corner and does the 10-punch count. He yells ‘ho’ and points at Tammy on the floor. The crowd yells ‘ho’ back. Candido takes a step out and flops on his face.
Tammy jumps on the ring apron at this point yelling at Duggan. Edwards tries to get her off. Duggan goes over and grabs her by the hair. Candido crawls up from behind and nails Jim in the groin. Edwards missed it. Duggan turns, hunched over, holding his groin. Chris hits a leaping DDT and covers for two. He nails a Rocker Dropper and covers for another two. He goes up top, but takes too long and Duggan throws him off. He lines up in the three point stance. He charges as Candido rises…and right into a super kick. Chris goes back up and hits the Suicide Blonde flying headbutt for the win.
WINNER: Chris Candido by pinfall
Missy Hyatt is out at the commentary position.
GM: We haven’t seen much of you, Missy Hyatt, or your guys lately, but we do know you will be part of the WarGames Gauntlet and Austin Idol will be in the captains’ battle royal later today.
MH: Idol and I have been really busy planning our wedding and we’re so happy to have good friends like Tommy Rich and the Steiner Brothers to help us out. I think we’ll be able to announce a date soon…
Tammy Sytch comes over with Candido in tow.
TLS: Blah, blah, blah. Nobody cares about you or your spray tanned, bleach blonde boyfriend.
Hyatt, Monsoon and HTM all look past Tammy to Candido. She turns and looks at him. Then she grabs him by the ear to lead him out.
MH: But even with all that, we know the importance of the WarGames Gauntlet and it’s our goal to come out the big winners with rights to whatever title matches we want. And Austin Idol will be the next MUW Men’s Champion.

Eli Drake vs. “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Lockup to start. Gilbert comes out of it with a waistlock, but Drake reverses and takes him to the mat. He rides him on the mat until Eddie wiggles out. He gets to his feet first and kicks Eli in the head several times. He brings Drake up by the arm and nails a single arm DDT. He follows with an elbow drop off the ropes. He pulls Drake up and whips him into the ropes for the Hot Shot, but Drake comes back with a leaping clothesline. A shoulder breaker is followed by a standing spine buster. Drake wants the Gravy Train.
Kane and Big Show brawl back to ringside from the opening match. This distraction allows Sheamus to run into the ring and hit a Brogue Kick on Drake as he turns around. But then Super Patriot runs in and nails Gilbert with an Olympic Slam. Both men are out. Kane and Big Show fight off. Edwards starts a double count as both men try to get up. Drake is up first and hits his knee lift, discus clothesline combo. Spinning facebuster sets up the Gravy Train.
WINNER: Eli Drake by pinfall
Ric Flair is at the commentary position with Monsoon and HTM.
RF: I heard Dave Bautista and Woman out here flapping their gums earlier. Woman knows how to use her mouth, I’ll give you that. Woo! But Dave Bautista needs to shut his trap before I shut it for him in the captains’ battle royal later tonight. Then at WarGames Gauntlet I’ll bust his teeth off on the steel cage. It might be true, the last time the Four Horsemen went into a WarGames with Curt Hennig on our side, it didn’t go well. That won’t be the case this time. You’re going to see a reversal of fortune and nobody will be turning on the Horsemen this time and then, we’ll collect all the gold we can. Because the Four Horsemen live by the Golden Rule. He who has the gold, rules. Woo!

Christopher Daniels vs. “Iceman” Dean Malenko with Kamille
Referee: Tommy Young
Lockup into a side headlock to start by Daniels. Malenko pushes him into the ropes and tries to come off with an O’Connor Roll, but Daniels hangs on. Malenko rolls back, then forward and up. He drops down as Daniels runs over him into the ropes. Malenko pops up and goes for a hip toss, which Christopher reverses to his own. Malenko pops up. Daniels goes for a kick. Dean grabs the leg, but Daniels nails an enzuigiri coming off the other leg. Malenko stands up into a spinning kick off the ropes and rolls to the floor.
Daniels tries a slingshot splash out, but Malenko side steps him and he splashes the guardrail. Dean rolls back into the ring and distracts Tommy Young so Kamille can lay in a couple kicks and then she rolls Daniels back into the ring. Malenko nails a brainbuster for two. He whips Daniels into the near corner and charges into an outstretched boot. He pops up top for a missile dropkick. Melanko flies across the ring to land seated in the far corner. Daniels with a bronco buster. He whips Malenko to the far corner, gets reversed, but on the bounce out side steps Dean for a walk past neckbreaker. That gets a two count. Malenko with a back elbow as they stand, but Chris ducks under and gets a backslide for two. They go into the ropes, Daniels telegraphs a back drop and gets kicked. Powerbomb. Texas Clover Leaf, but they’re too close to the ropes. Daniels with a whip to the corner and he follows in. Malenko catches the top rope and vaults to the apron, so Daniels smacks the top turnbuckle.
Malenko climbs up top, but has trouble getting his footing and Daniels comes up for a superplex. Both men down. Daniels crawls over and locks in the Koji Clutch. Kamille reaches through the ropes and grabs at Daniels. Young warns her, but it makes Daniels break. As they get up, Malenko lands a cheap shot in the throat. Daniels stays bent over and is punted in the head. He goes for the exploding gutbuster, but Daniels slips out into a Scorpion Death Drop with a knee to the back. Koji Clutch in the center of the ring and Malenko is forced to tap.
WINNER: Christopher Daniels by submissionKane and Big Show are finally separated in the back by backstage personnel with Eli Drake and Super Patriot Mark III helping out. Big Show points and says he’ll take Kane out. Brandi Rhodes comes up and hugs Kane, thankful he’s okay. Kane makes no movement. Patriot and Drake exchange a look.
BR: I’m so glad you finally got separated from Big Show. Since last week I wanted to thank you for saving me from him. Also, I’ve been told that at the ppv there’s going to be a tag match with you and Super Patriot Mark III against Big Show and Eddie Gilbert.
Patriot looks up at Kane, looks at Rhodes and then looks over at Drake. He says nothing.
ED: We’ve got two big talkers here. Brandi, let me walk you back to the ring. Tell me, how do you feel about Clark Bars?
BR: I love them, who doesn’t?
ED: I know, it’s just a fact of life.

“British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith vs. Yokozuna with Andy Kaufman
Referee: Joey Marella
Referee: Joey Marella
Yoko wants a test of strength and Smith is happy to oblige, but Yoko kicks him in the gut and follows with a throat thrust. He beats Smith around the ring and then grounds him down on the mat with a nerve hold. Smith works his way up and breaks with some elbows to the gut. He goes into the ropes and comes off with a running shoulder block. Yoko stumbles back. Davey Boy hits a second. Yoko stumbles some more. He lands a flying shoulder block to put Yoko down. He follows with a camel clutch. Yoko powers up and runs Smith into the near corner to break. He follows with a thrust kick and chokes Smith out. Kaufman gets on the apron to argue with Young so Yoko can choke Smith our further. However, Sting runs out and pulls Kaufman off the apron. Andy turns and is scared. He runs off with Sting following.
Yoko hip tosses Smith out of the corner and follows with a leg drop. He covers, but Davey Boy gets the shoulder up. Lifting side slam gets a two. He whips Smith into the corner and charges into a big boot. Smith comes off the second turnbuckle with a double axe handle. Yoko staggers. Smith goes for a second. Yoko staggers more. He goes up for a third, but leaps right into a savat kick. Vertical splash. Yoko pulls Smith into position for the Banzai Drop. He gloats to the crowd, allowing Smith to get underneath him. He tries to pull Yokozuna off with a powerbomb, but he’s two heavy and Yokozuna collapses on top of Davey Boy as he tries to pull him out of the corner and lands on top for the cover.
WINNER: Yokozuna by pinfall
Sting is checking on Davey Boy Smith in the back while medics check him over. He says he’ll be okay. Edge comes up and slaps Sting on the shoulder.
Edge: Tough loss, buddy.
Sting: What do you mean by that?
Edge: Well, your guy Davey Boy lost tonight. My guy Christopher Daniels won. That puts our stable one up on yours.
Sting: Who’s keeping count.
Edge: Well, we are. With all these stables in CCW you better believe win/loss records per stable are going to count for something.
Sting: The only thing that’s going to really count tonight is when I win the captains’ battle royal out in the ring next.
Sting turns and walks away. Edge calls after him.
Edge: We’ll be 2-0 on the night after I win the battle royal and the Rated R Superstar featuring SCU gets that coveted last slot in the WarGames Gauntlet.
Christopher Daniels comes up.
CD: I thought we were SCU featuring the Rated R Superstar.
Edge: We’ll work it out. Maybe I should get a starring credit…
Edge clasps Daniels by the shoulder and they walk off the other way.

Marty Jannetty vs. Randy Savage vs. Steve Austin vs. Nick Aldis vs. Ric Flair vs. Austin Idol vs. Edge vs. Sting vs. Haku vs. Dave Bautista
Haku grabs Marty Jannetty at the start and pitches him like a lawn dart to the outside. Everyone else then gang rushes Haku and manages to push him over the top rope by sheer numbers. In the pile, Flair tries to flip Idol out, who lands on the apron. That draws the attention of Sting who points his finger and goes after Flair. He drops to his knees and begs off, allowing him to nail Sting in the nuts. Aldis comes in with a flying knee to Flair’s back. Edge and Bautista pair off. Dave reverses a whip, sending Edge into Idol still recovering on the apron and he’s knocked to the floor. Austin and Savage naturally brawl. They eliminate each other with Austin touching the floor slightly before Savage.
Bautista throws off Aldis to get at Flair. Nick takes exception to that and attacks Bautista from behind. Dave turns, choke lifts Aldis and throws him to the floor. Edge asks Sting to partner up to go after Bautista and he agrees. As Sting turns, Edge hits the Edgeomatic on him from behind. Edge goes to throw Sting out, who lands on the apron. Sting slingshots Edge over to the floor as he holds the top rope. Edge then grabs Sting’s leg and drags him to the floor. Bautista is alone with Flair. Flair begs off and drops to his knees. He nails Bautista in the balls like he did to Sting earlier, but Dave is unfazed. Dave reaches into his trunks, to reveals he’s wearing a cup. He then picks up Flair and gives him a release Bautista Bomb over the ropes to the floor, where he’s caught by the still arguing Sting and Edge.
WINNER: Dave Bautista
