CCW Superstar Saturday on SCA, episode 8
The camera pans the Andy Kaufman Studios in Dothan, Alabama, and then comes upon the commentary team of Gorilla Monsoon and the Honky Tonk Man.
GM: We’re a week removed from A Flair for the Gold. There’s a lot of fallout to deal with and a lot of new to look at for our October super show. Both will be a primary focus on today’s program.
HTM: I’m boiling mad, Monsoon. Normally I’d be singing the praises of our Southeastern Heavyweight Champion Dave Bautista, but he cost Ric Flair the MUW Men’s Title against AJ Styles. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Ric Flair would be the MUW Men’s Champion right now if Bautista hadn’t attacked him during the match.
GM: And we’ll hear from Ric Flair today on that matter. Along with Randy Savage on Steve Austin turning his back on him and the Ultimate Warrior on his loss to Kane via a fireball to the face from Eddie Gilbert. But, right now, let’s head to the ring. One third of the new Gulf Coast Six Man Tag Team Champions faces off with one of the men they beat for those belts at A Flair for the Gold.

“The Man with the Hand of Stone” Ronnie Garvin vs. The Warlord
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Warlord charges at the bell and thrashes Garvin with forearms, driving him into the corner. Garvin covers up and Edwards backs Warlord off. Garvin comes out of the corner with a clothesline, over Edwards’ head, taking Warlord down. He pops up into another clotheslines. He pops up into a third. Warlord rolls out of the way of a knee drop. He picks Garvin up for a slam, but Ronnie punches him in the throat and hooks him for a suplex. Body slam. Warlord moves out of the way of a fist drop. He locks in a full nelson. Garvin makes the ropes to break. Warlord reaches into his trunks and pulls out a pair of brass knuckles. He goes to punch Garvin, who kicks him in the gut and the knux go flying. Garvin hits a snap DDT for a two count. Superman punch off the ropes. Stone Cutter finishes. Garvin picks up the brass knuckles as he exits.
WINNER: Ronnie Garvin by pinfallAfter the match, we cut back to the commentary position where Ron Fuller is standing. He’s holding a new title belt. On the face plate is a giant Joker playing card.
GM: Ron Fuller, we’re told you have two big announcements to make.
RF: That’s right, Gorilla. First off, I want to let the good people of New Orleans, Louisiana, know our third super show, Maximum Carnage, will be taking place on Oct. 4 at the Lakefront Arena. And our sponsor will be Frank-N-Stuff Hotdogs from Hormel. Stuffed with cheese, stuffed with chili, they’re great either way.
Fuller holds up a pack of the hotdogs. RF: And at that show we’re going to crown the new CCW Wild Card Champion. That’s the beautiful belt I’m holding here. Each match this title is defended in will be a stipulation match. And that stipulation will be chosen each time by the champion. That’s the real champion’s advantage this title will hold. But, that first stipulation, that’s for me to pick, and that will be a weapon’s battle royal. Each person in the match will be allowed to bring their weapon of choice to the ring and use that weapon only in the match.
The crowd cheers as Ronnie Garvin, walks over, winded and sweaty from the match. He’s still holding the brass knuckles in his fist.
RG: I came over here, Mr. Fuller, because I want to let you know I want in on this weapons battle royal. And while my fists are usually all the weapons I need, I think I’ve got that little extra right here. The Man with the Hands of Stone with a pair of brass knuckles is like making the Flash faster and you can’t beat that.
Commercial
Ric Flair is at the commentary position with Monsoon and HTM.
GM: Ric Flair, you won by disqualification over AJ Style at A Flair for the Gold via interference by Dave Bautista. You got the victory, but not the MUW Men’s Title.
RF: Dave Bautista stuck his nose where it didn’t belong. He rambled about how he was living in my shadow. That’s the truth and the truth hurts. But a real man would come straight at me and say, “Nature Boy, I’m going to kick your ass” not sneak attack me from behind. I know I’m the dirties player in the game, but I also believe in honor among thieves. Dave, you and I have rode down the highway many times. Woman, you’ve been by my side too. You two, along with the Butcher and the Blade have a hell of a thing going on here. I even thought about offering to throw in with you and really make your stable a force to be reckon with. But, instead of being the best, you’re just like the rest. I’m not sneaking around, I’m not hiding. I want you, Dave Bautista, I want that Southeastern Heavyweight Title and if you’ve got any testicular fortitude at all, you’ll see me at Maximum Carnage.

CCW Gulf Coast Tag Team Titles Number One Contenders Match: Badd Company (Pat Tanaka and Paul Diamond) with Col. Robert Fuller vs. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers)
Referee: Joey Marella
Fulton and Tanaka start. They do a long crisscross sequence that ends with a double dropkick that puts both men down. Tags all around. Diamond and Rogers jockey around for a bit. Rogers cartwheels out of the way of a superkick. Diamond charges and Rogers drops down for a trip. He works a front chancery on the mat. Diamond works up and into a suplex. Tag to Tanaka who slingshots in with a leg drop for two. He throws Rogers into the ropes and scores an assisted hot shot with Diamond on the apron. It gets two. Dragon screw legwhip and a falling headbutt gets two.
Into the ropes, Tanaka telegraphs a backdrop and Rogers gets a sunset flip that Pat breaks up with slamming his legs on either side of Tommy’s head. Vertical brainbuster by Tanaka and he tags Diamond. Top rope knee drop gets two. Tag to Tanaka and they throw Rogers into the ropes. He ducks a double clothesline and comes back the other side with a flying crossbody to knock out both.
Tag to Fulton. He’s a house of fire. Clotheslines and bionic elbows all around. Suplex on Tanaka with a floatover for a cover. Fuller gets on the apron to distract Marella. Fulton whips Fuller into the ring. He and Rogers gives him a big double backdrop. Diamond runs in and takes a double clothesline. Rocket launcher on Tanaka and…time runs out.
WINNER: 15 minute time limit draw
Both teams stand in the ring shaking their hands. Fulton gets a ‘five more minutes’ chant started. Ron Fuller comes out and talks from ringside with a microphone.
RF: We’re not going to restart this match, but somebody has to move onto the Gulf Coast Titles shot at Maximum Carnage against the Midnight Rockers. So, we’re going to make it a triple threat. The Midnight Rockers vs. Badd Company vs. The Fantastics. I take it my dear brother has no problem with that.
Col. Robert Fuller, appearing a bit pale, shakes his head no from the ring.We cutback to the announce position and with Monsoon and HTM are Triple B and Woman.
GM: That was some fantastic action we just saw…
Bautista takes the microphone away from Gorilla.
DB: When the champ is out here, you pay attention to me. Ric Flair was out here earlier thinking he automatically gets a title shot because I broke up his little match with AJ Style at Flair for the Gold.
Dave turns his head and spits on the ground.
DB: I have to spit when I say that name. In my eyes, Flair you haven’t earned a damn thing. You want me, you earn it. So, next week, we challenge you to step into the ring with the Butcher.
Butcher takes a step forward and rubs his hands together. Bautista slaps him on the chest.
DB: And just to show you I’m a fighting champion, I’ll put the Southeastern Heavyweight Title on the line against anyone you pick. Although, I doubt you’ll have many takers. This might surprise you Flair, but there are probably more people in the back who’d rather see you rot in hell than help you out even if it means a title shot.
Commercial
Randy Savage is out with Monsoon and HTM.
GM: Earlier we heard from Ric Flair who got blindsided by Dave Bautista at A Flair for the Gold. But no less surprising was “Macho Man” Randy Savage who had his alleged friend Steve Austin turn on him and side with their opponents, the Midnight Express.
RS: Oh yeah, Steve Austin wants to talk about how he’s always been stunning and always will be. He’s a stunning jackass, that’s what he is. Steve Austin called me a mangy dog nipping at his heels, but I’m really a rabid dog ready to bite him in the damn ass. The Macho Man can be the greatest friend you ever had or the greatest enemy and Austin has made his choice. Oh yeah! Austin talked about being old school WCW through and through. He started at WCW then went WWE. The Macho man went the opposite way, oh yeah, started WWE and went WCW. You want to call in some friends from the old days. I can do that too.
Tito Santana and Rick Martel of Strike Force come out. Savage does the Mega Powers handshake with each of them. TS: I’ve fought wars in the ring with this man, but I always respected him and that’s something I can’t say for Steve Austin and the Midnight Express.
RM: We might all be CCW now, but we remember our roots. And I also remember people saying what a dream match Strike Force versus Midnight Express would be. Well, that dream is going to become a nightmare for them.

Strike Force vs. Don Muraco and Adrian Street with Col. Robert Fuller
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Savage is at ringside for Strike Force. Fuller looks nervous. Adrian Street starts with Santana. He gets a headlock and Streets makes the ropes to break. They lock up again and Street gets a headlock and shoots Santana into the ropes. Santana blocks a hiptoss try, tries for his own that Street blocks. Tito drops to his knees and gets a fireman’s carry takeover. Santana gets a series of armdrags and tags Martel. Martel comes in with an armtrap suplex. Street pops up into a flying head scissors. He tags Muraco. Don runs right into a hip toss. Tag to Tito and they score a double backdrop. Santana throws Muraco into the ropes and gets knocked down by a shoulderblock. Muraco whips Santana into the near corner and peppers him with chops. He whips him to the far corner. He peppers him with more chops, then snap mares him out and gets a rear chinlock with a knee to the back. Savage on the floor gets the crowd going. Santana fights up, gives Don a few elbows to the gut and dives to tag Martel. Rick works over Muraco. However, he telegraphs a backdrop and Muraco kicks him. He tags Street. Adrian hits a dropkick and drops a knee for a two count. Martel blocks a suplex and hits his own. He pulls Street up an whips him into the ropes, while tagging Santana who flies in and goes to the ropes. He comes off with the flying forearm and goes straight to a cover. Rick rushes over to keep Muraco at bey.
WINNERS: Strike Force via pinfall of Santana on Street. Commercial
GM: Coming out here now we have the Ultimate Warrior.
HTM: I don’t want to see that idiot, Monsoon.
Warrior then comes out and points at HTM.
UW: There will be silence from you Man of the Tonky Honk. The gods have not sent me here for you, but the demon known as Kane. At A Flair for the Gold I sought to dispatch Kane and send him back to the hell from whence he came. Yet, the power of the demons was too strong for the power of the Warrior Gods. But, I dug deep into the pits of my own soul to go past the Warrior Gods and become one myself to defeat the Kane. But then his handler here on earth, one Eddie Gilbert, threw flames in my face. I smell like smoke, because I have been through fire. The flames do not burn because the Warrior is fire himself. And I will bring that living fire to Kane and squash his flame with my own at Maximum Carnage. The inferno shall burn!
Warrior snarls, runs around the studio and then disappears to the back.Ric Flair walks up to Sting in the locker room area as he finishes getting ready for his match coming up next. Silence hangs in the air for a long moment. Sting doesn’t look up as he continues taping his wrists.
Sting: I know why you’re standing there, Ric. I heard what Bautista said and he’s not wrong.
RF: I know we’ve had problems in the past, but there is nobody who…
Sting looks up now at Flair.
Sting: Save it! The only times you stood by me was until you figured out how to stab me in the back for fun. I know what the fans say about me. About how stupid I am to trust somebody again and again only to have them turn on me. I don’t like Dave Bautista and I’ll get my shot at that Southeastern Heavyweight Title someday, but not next week. Because, like Dave said, I’d rather see you rot in hell than do anything that I think might be a benefit to you.
Sting walks off and Flair is alonge. He bows his head while he reflects on what Sting just said. He then hears a voice off camera say, “I’ll do it.” Ric lifts his head to see Ronnie Garvin walk into frame.
RF: You don’t feel the same way Sting does? We’ve tangled just as much.
RG: Difference is, I always knew you were a son of a bitch and I never trusted you like Sting did. He’s heard what fans say about him, I’ve heard what they say about me. That I’m a one hit wonder that got lucky one night to beat you for the NWA World Heavyweight Title. And while you can go screw yourself, I want to silence those voices. So, know this Ric Flair, I’ll take on Dave Bautista next week, but I’m doing it for me, not you. And when I win that title and you go onto Maximum Carnage to face me, then I’ll silence the naysayers for good.

Sting vs. Vinnie Vegas
Referee: Joey Marella
Vinnie Vegas is without Andy Kaufman or Big Bubba Rogers. Sting asks where they are at. Vegas replies “I don’t need them, you need to worry about me.” Sting says bring it on. Vegas charges and Sting moves out of the way. He charges again and Sting moves out of the way. Vegas leans in the corner and tells Sting to come to him when he’s ready. Sting charges and Vegas catches him with a back elbow. He swings Sting into the corner and beats him down. He does the boot choke in the corner. Choke lift and he throws Sting halfway across the ring. Sting springs up and charges with a shoulderblock to the gut. Vegas catches him and smashes Sting’s face into his knee. He hits Snake Eyes in the corner. Vegas chokes Sting out on the mat. Edwards tells him to get off. He pulls Sting up and whips him into the near corner, he charges with a high knee and Sting moves. Vegas gets hung up in ropes. Sting pulls him off by the Scorpion Deathdrop and hits it.
WINNER: StingSting exits. Vegas sits up and just shrugs like, ‘what you going to do.’ He doesn’t seem too upset by the loss.
Cut to the commentary position and Jim Duggan is there with his 2x4.
JD: Ho! I tell you Gorilla, I’m thrilled for Maximum Carnage for two reasons. One, is everyone gets to share in these delicious Frank-N-Stuff hotdogs. Filled with cheese or filled with chili, they’re good either way. I even eat them raw, because I’m hardcore. Ho!
Duggan rips open a pack of hotdogs and starts eating them cold out of the pack.
JD: And the second reason is I will be in the Wild Card Battle Royal and everyone knows the weapon I’m bringing!
HTM: Frank-N-Stuff hotdogs?
JD: I wish. It’s going to by my trusty 2x4. And that’s all I’ll need to win that shiny, new title belt, tough guy. Ho!

CCW Gulf Coast Title: Sheamus (c) vs. Jimmy Snuka with Missy Hyatt
Referee: Tommy Young
They lockup to start and Sheamus pushes Snuka back into the near corner. He fakes a clean break, but pops Snuka in the nose and then beats him down. He kicks Snuka in the corner. He throws Snuka through the ropes to the apron. Sheamus pulls him up and lays in the 10 beats of the Bodhran. Snuka falls to the floor and Missy Hyatt checks on him. Snuka shakes her off and gets back in the ring. Sheamus meets him coming in with a knee lift. He throws Jimmy into the ropes. Snuka ducks a clothesline and comes back with a dropkick to the knee. He works Sheamus over with kicks and chops, but Sheamus explodes up with a forearm and follows with a double axehandle to the head. Sheamus goes for a powerslam, but Snuka slips off. Sheamus turns right into a standing dropkick. Splash off the ropes. Jimmy goes up top for the Superfly Splash. However, Sheamus pops up and Snuka flies right into a Brogue Kick.
WINNER: Sheamus by pinfallSheamus goes to the announce position.
Sheamus: I want some bloody competition around here and I better get it. Jimmy Snuka was barely a workout for me and everyone saw what I did to Sting at Maximum Carnage.
GM: You mean what Bubba Rogers did to Sting.
Sheamus: You watch your mouth Monsoon, or I’ll bring you out of retirement. Andy Kaufman is a smart man and he likes what he sees. He knows I need some bigger and better challengers and I better get them.
Commercial
Hot Stuff Incorporated is in the ring and Gilbert has a microphone.
EG: I have no idea what the hell the Ultimate Warrior just said out here earlier and we frankly don’t care. If he wants Kane at Maximum Carnage, he’s got it. And if he wants it in flame and fire. He can have that as an inferno match. Because that’s just putting Kane in the briar patch, he would like nothing better. And for me, I can’t wait at Maximum Carnage to get Austin Idol in that steel cage. No interference, no way out and no Missy Hyatt flashing her fat ass to gross me out and distract me…
With that, Missy’s Men run out and everyone brawls.
Eight Man Elimination Tag: Hot Stuff Incorporated (Eddie Gilbert, Wrath, Mortis and Kane) vs. Missy’s Men (Scott and Rick Steiner, Tommy Rich and Austin Idol)
Referee: Joey Marella
Kane totally dominates everyone until the Warrior runs out and they brawl to the back. Scott Steiner eliminates Wrath after a Frankensteiner. Mortis falls to the Steiner Device. It’s 4-1 on Eddie Gilbert. He doesn’t like his chances and decides to take a walk for a count out. He goes to the back. A few moments later, the Warrior rushes Gilbert back to the ring, even though the match is over. He runs right into a flying forearm from Tommy Rich. Steinerizer by the tag champs. Piledriver by Idol. Gilbert is out cold as we fade to black.
WINNERS: Missy's Men via total elimination
