We open this week’s show inside the Lucha Underground locker room where Rey Mysterio Jr. is getting prepared for his match in tonight’s main event against Johnny Mundo. Eddie Guerrero is there to give him a pep talk. He recounts his victory in his match over Andrade Cien Almas last week, stating that it is his first win on the road to winning the Lucha Underground Championship. However, tonight isn’t about him, it’s about Mysterio and how he’s going to collect his first win on the road to winning the Lucha Underground Championship. Eventually, they’ll find themselves at the same point on that road. Mysterio acknowledges that and says he can’t wait for that day. But first, he needs to worry about the here and now, and that means collecting a win against Mundo, which should put him in the upper title contender ranks. After that, Guerrero wishes him the best of luck before walking away.

Angel Garza vs. Damien Priest vs. Sammy Guevara vs. Rhea Ripley
The first match of this week’s show features four newcomers to the Temple in a fatal fourway match. It was a good way for the Believers to get their first looks at each of these very different luchadores. Each of them were looking to make a good first impression, and getting a win here would certainly go a long way towards doing that. In the closing sequence of the match, Angel Garza paused to do a bit of showboating on the middle rope before going for a moonsault on Rhea Ripley. She would get her knees up to block it, causing him to pop up and clutch his ribs. He was immediately hit with a cyclone kick to the side of the head from Damien Priest, who then picked him up and set up for The Reckoning. However, before he could execute it, Priest was knocked off his feet by Sammy Guevara, who gave him a springboard missile dropkick. He was taken out with a running big boot from Ripley, who then quickly blocked a superkick attempt from Garza before turning him around and giving him the Riptide to get the win.
WINNER : Rhea Ripley

Son of Havoc vs. Matanza Cueto
Son of Havoc vs. Matanza Cueto
Son of Havoc was the underdog and overwhelming fan favourite in this match. He was thrown around for much of the match, but he found opportunities to avoid or counter some of Matanza’s offense, leading to periodic rallies that would eventually be squashed by another big power move by “The Monster.” Son of Havoc’s biggest pop came after he executed a cartwheel into an over-the-top-rope corkscrew senton suicida. For all his effort, Son of Havoc pushed Matanza past the 10-minute mark, and he even teased that he would pull off an unexpected victory when he found an opportunity to go to the top rope for the shooting star press after knocking Matanza down with a handspring rebound back elbow. However, he landed on Matanza’s knees. After that, Matanza gave him the Athletic-plex followed by a standing moonsault. Matanza deadlifted Son of Havoc off the mat and gave him the Wrath of Gods and pinned him for the win.
After Matanza’s win, Antonio Cueto announced that it was time to make a “sacrifice to the gods!” What followed was that Matanza put the Gauntlet of the Gods on his right hand, then, he lifted it high into the air and drove it down into Son of Havoc’s chest. At the moment of impact, the lights in the Temple went out. Moments later, they came back on and Matanza was standing alone in the ring. Son of Havoc was nowhere to be found.
WINNER : Matanza Cueto

LUCHA HOUSE PARTY vs. THE MEXICOOLS
Kalisto, Lince Dorado & Gran Metallik vs. Juventud Guerrera, Psicosis & Super Crazy
If you like seeing luchadores fly through the ropes, over the ropes, or use the ropes to fling themselves towards an opponent, this would have been the match for you. There were many variations of the topé suicida, topé con hilo, pescado, and the moonsault performed from the ring to the outside in the first 3-minutes of the match. Unfortunately, it didn’t last much longer than that. Once everyone was wiped out on the floor following a big springboard moonsault by Super Crazy, they could barely make it to their feet before they were attacked by Braun Strowman and the Authors of Pain!
Strowman lifted Guerrera from the floor and slammed him onto the ring apron with a chokeslam. Then, he took Kalisto and gave him a running powerslam onto the exposed floor. Akam gave Lince Dorao a pumphandle death valley bomb. Rezar gave Psicosis a running sit-out powerbomb. Then, they took Super Crazy and Gran Metallik and gave them the Super Collider.
Once everyone was wiped out, Truth Martini showed up. With his Book of Truth in hand, he let it be known to all the Believers that they have been brainwashed into believing in false idols. He said that the Believers needed to be saved and that they could do this if they would only be open to learning the TRUTH. He and his Authors of Truth – Strowman, Akam, and Rezar – were here to cleanse this Temple of the influence of the Seven Ancient Aztec Tribes and they were going to do this by any means necessary. He explained that this is what must happen if they are to be saved, and that they would do this by systematically eliminating each and every luchador affiliated with one of the seven tribes.
MATCH ENDS IN NO DECISION

The scheduled main event between Rey Mysterio Jr. and Johnny Mundo did not happen. Instead, before the bell could ring, the Pinnacle of Sports Entertainment entered the ring and did a number on both competitors. They were both speared by Roman Reigns, given the Attitude Adjustment from John Cena, and the running leg drop from Hulk Hogan. The PSE had taken over the ring and reiterated its message from Ultima Lucha Tres, which was that they would bring the good old-fashioned American values of sports entertainment to this Temple – values that would re-establish a proper moral compass to the Temple. It was clear that lucha libre didn’t understand the true meaning of right and wrong, which we saw last week when Cena asserted his right to use the Gift of the Gods to join the Lucha Underground Championship title match between Prince Puma and Pentagon DARK. However, the corrupt officials refused to take it from him. Cena, they claimed, is now the rightful holder of the Lucha Underground Championship, and yet, here he stood with the Gift of the Gods still in hand. They demanded Antonio Cueto rectify the situation.
Antonio Cueto exited his office and told Cena that the Gift of the Gods entitles him to a match for the Lucha Underground Championship. However, because this isn’t sports entertainment, he cannot just walk into the ring with the Gift of the Gods and demand to join a match already in progress. Only a stupid promoter would allow that to happen. A smart promoter needs time to create buzz for the match, so in the future, if he wants to relinquish the Gift of the Gods, he can do it, but he’ll have to wait at least a week.
Cena thought it was a dumb rule, but said he wanted to turn in the Gift of the Gods for a title match the following week. As it was his right, Antonio made it official. Next week, it will be Prince Puma vs. John Cena for the Lucha Underground Championship. In the meantime, since Cena, Hogan, and Reigns were standing in the ring and they looked like they were ready for a fight, and he needed a new main event, he was making a trios match between the PSE and the Lucha Underground Trios Champions – Rey Fénix, Aero Star, and Drago, collectively known as he Super Friends.
VS.
SUPER FRIENDS vs. PINNACLE OF SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT
Aero Star, Fénix & Drago vs. Hulk Hogan, John Cena & Roman Reigns
It isn’t often that a team that has held the Trios Championships for an entire season of lucha would go into a match being considered the underdogs. However, this is probably had most people viewed this matchup. Although they were outsized by their sports entertainment opponents, the Super Friends had a strong showing against Hogan, Cena and Reigns. They were quick to tag in and out and gave their opponents fits with the quick pace of their constant double and triple team offense. Reigns took a beating, but as he could take a lot without giving up, he kept his team in the match after kicking out of a lot of pinfall attempts. He finally turned the tide when he got up as Aero Star attempted a springboard 450-splash and countered it into a Samoan drop! Reigns tagged out to Cena, and for the next several minutes, he and Hogan took turns inflicting punishment on their much smaller opponent. After Cena gave Aero Star the Attitude Adjustment, Fénix dove into the ring with a double axehandle to the back to make the save. A brawl ensued. Perhaps, to the surprised of most, the Super Friends got the upper hand. They built moment and dove from the ring to the outside to take out their opponents. Back in the ring, Fénix executed a meteora on Cena. He made the cover, but Reigns broke it up with a chairshot to his back! He lifted it and turned to face Drago, who spat mist in his eyes and then took him down with a nasty running blockbuster DDT! Hogan appeared to be coming at him with a chair, but then ducked as he Drago spat mist in his direction, which got his teammate Aero Star instead. Hogan bashed Drago with the chair, then Cena grabbed the blinded Aero Star and gave himt he Attitude Adjustment. Hogan followed it up with the running leg drop and pinned him for the 3-count to give the Super Friends their first loss since they became champions at the beginning of season three.
WINNERS : The Pinnacle of Sports Entertainment

In the Oval Office, President Donald Trump meets with Agent VKM, who gives him a briefing on Operation #MEGA. Agent VKM tells the President that Agent Cena is poised to win the Lucha Underground Championship next week. Trump is delighted by this news. It’s the best piece of news in his cultural war on Mexico that he’s heard in ages. He tells Agent VKM that Cena had better not fail because doing that would give great strength to the lucha community. Agent VKM tells him that lucha libre can never win against good old-fashioned American sports entertainment. Trump says that making sports entertainment great again is necessary for fighting the evil foreign forces that are trying to destroy traditional American culture and it is stopping the transformation of America and returning it to form is what he’s staked his Presidency on so it had better happen. Agent VKM tells him not to worry. It will happen. He guarantees it.
