AEW Dynamite
February 12, 2020
Live from Philadelphia, PA
After an impressive display of pyrotechnics, the cameras begin panning around the arena in Philly as the rabid, wild fans of the City of Brotherly Love hold up various signs such as “DB 4 PREZ” and “GET WELL PCO & KING.”
Our trusty commentators, Don Callis and Kevin Kelly, begin to run down the card for tonight’s festivities. Kelly mentions another match for the tag team title tournament, while Callis mentions that Mark Henry is scouting top talent for an AEW World Championship opportunity. Kelly reminds us of the harsh words Kenny Omega had for Kota Ibushi last week, before we head down to the ring.
Match 1
vs.
Kenny Omega def. Tim Storm at 5:45 after connecting with the One-Winged Angel. Tim Storm was unable to get in much offense, but we did see a very aggressive side of Kenny Omega, unrelenting in his attack on the classic whitemeat babyface.
KOTA IBUSHI COMES OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A SPRINGBOARD DROPKICK TO OMEGA! The fans begin going wild as Ibushi stands up and begins yelling, showing a primal side of him we’ve never seen before! Omega stands on the outside of the ring holding his head, looking pissed off! Ibushi motions for Omega to get in the ring, but Kenny throws his hands up and begins walking away as the crowd boos viciously!
Ibushi gets on the microphone and tells Kenny he’s right - there isn’t enough room for both men in AEW. Ibushi challenges Kenny Omega to an I QUIT MATCH!!!! We’ll hear Kenny’s answer later tonight!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
AEW World Champion, Daniel Bryan, is standing backstage. He says that he understands everything is in flux right now. He says Killer Kross should be grateful that he’s in jail, or else he would tear him apart. Bryan says that Kross should be on his knees praying for a life sentence, because if he ever gets out, he’ll be in a whole new world of pain and fear. Bryan recognizes that no challengers for the title have “broken out of the pack” quite yet, but when the time comes, he’ll be here ready and willing to defend his championship with pride and honor.
Match 2
vs.
Guerillas of Destiny def. America’s Most Wanted via disqualification at 9:22. The DQ occured when Chris Harris was setting up Tama Tonga for a superkick, but inadvertently struck the referee instead. This led to Harris and Storm arguing as the cocky GoD exited the ring, advancing in the tag title tournament.
“Something sure smells fishy around here, and no, I’m not talking about Tony Khan’s mother. I find it awfully funny that Mark Henry says he’s going to be scouting talents for an AEW World Title shot, but I can’t even get A GODDAMN MATCH ON THIS PATHETIC SHOW! What do I have to do, hmm? DO I HAVE TO FORM A CULT? Hmm? Do I have to avoid bathing and shaving while walking around talking about preserving Mother Earth? There is a conspiracy here in All Elite Wrestling...and I am going to get to the bottom of it.”

Match 3
vs.
In a stellar matchup, “The National Treasure” Nick Aldis def. Chris Benoit at 14:54 via the King’s Cloverleaf submission. This was an excellent mat-based competition where both men were able to showcase their technical prowess.
The AEW National Champion, “The Pope” Elijah Burke, is standing backstage. He says that tonight in the main event, he’ll be defending his National Championship against former champion “The Machine” Brian Cage. He says that Cage is just an oversized gorilla who doesn’t know a banana from his ass. Pope says that he’s a naturally charismatic individual with a bank account larger than Brian Cage’s biceps. He says tonight, there is no running from the truth...and that truth, is that Pope... is amazing.
Match 4
vs.
In an excellent back and forth match, Dakota Kai def. Gail Kim via a top rope footstomp at 9:04. After the match, both women shook hands and then Kai motioned around her waist, warning Tessa Blanchard that it’s only a matter of time.

Kenny Omega is backstage. He says that Kota Ibushi should have stayed in Japan, but that’s ok, because that’s where he’s going to have to go back to because Kenny ACCEPTS the I Quit match stipulation! Kenny says he doesn’t want to wait for a pay-per-view. He wants to get rid of Kota Ibushi as soon as he can. Kenny demands that the I Quit match take place...NEXT WEEK ON DYNAMITE!!!
Match 5
AEW National Championship
vs.
The main event did not disappoint as Brian Cage and Elijah Burke participated in nothing short of a "slobberknocker." The result came clean when “The Pope” was able to defeat Brian Cage via the Elijah Experience at 13:55. We did see several impressive displays of power from Cage, as well as moves that only a cruiserweight should be capable of doing. This, however, was not enough to topple The Pope, who always seems to find a way to overcome his opponents, much to the frustration of the audience.
Suddenly, we cut backstage and we see the legendary Arn Anderson standing at the interview area! The fans in attendance begin going wild, wondering what the Enforcer has to say!
“I’m gonna make this real short, sweet, and simple. Mark Henry doesn’t need to struggle to find a challenger for the AEW World Title. Mark doesn’t need to scout his roster to see who’d be best to fight Daniel Bryan. You see, I’ve already done all the scouting. Mark, I've done your job for you! For the last couple weeks, I’ve been in meetings, phone calls, and in attendance at these AEW shows and I have found the best man for the job. You want things in AEW to change? Well, times are a’changin and THIS man will make sure of it. Mark, I hope you’ll be here next week, we’ve got some talkin’ to do.”
And with that, the AEW logo flashes on the screen as this weeks episode of Dynamite comes to an end!
