Dark Matches
4 Man Tag Team Match. Wild Eyed Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong & Tracey Smotherns) lost to 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer & "Maniac' Matt Borne. Borne with a behind the back tag to Sawyer allowing Matt to get the pin on an injured Tracey.
6 Woman Tag Team Match. Nicole Savoy, Mia Yim & Taylor Wylde drew with the Beautifu People (Angelina Love, Madison Rayne & Velvet Sky). See saw match until Savoy had Rayne stretched out at the buzzer.
During the dark matches, Santa Claus & his helper elves (male & female) pass out gifts to the fans ringside & all over the Greensboro Coliseum.
The PPV opens with Gordon Solie, Joey Styles (in their holiday colored tuxedoes)& ring announcer Mike McGuirk in front of the NWA banner. After welcoming the fans, McGuirk (dress as a Santa help in red & white outfit with black hose) heads to the ring. Gordon says there will be a change or two on tonight's card so he brings out Commissioner Jim Barnett with a special announcement. The Women's World's Champion Mschif turned in the title to the office last night. She has a close family member in the hospital in St. Louis & cannot be here to defend the title which was coming up on the 30-day must defend rule. Barnett says he understands & wishes her family the best. Now, Cherry Bomb is awarded the title by default & she will defend the title tonight against Mia Yim. Barnett adds that Miss McGuirk will make that announcement before the first match of the PPV.
1. Mixed Tag Team Match. Yoshihiro Tajiri & United States Women's Champion Taryn Terrell beat Tony Charles & Taeler Hendrix. Tajiri continues to impress the fans before pinning Charles following the Buzzsaw Kick. Tony was mounted on the top rope but Tajiri rocked him off before setting up the Buzzsaw Kick. Terrell had her problems with short cuts by Hendrix but had the big breasted redhead under control at the end. Taeler tried to steal the US Women's belt but got the title upside her head from Terrell.
2. NWA Women's World's Championship Match. (New Champ): Cherry Bomb beats (Chall) Mia Yim with a second Best Superkick Ever in s highly competitive contest. (15:03). The contest started off with a prematch attack from Mia. Yim carried the match outside of the ring with both women barely beating the 10 count. CB kicked out of several near pins by the challenger. The champ hit the challenger with first Best Superkick Ever but Yim kicked out at Count 2. She was pinned after the second kick.
3. NWA United States Junior Heavyweight Title Match. (Champ): 'Superstar' Bill Dundee lost title to (Chall): Chris Candido w/valet Tammy Sytch. (15:17). Slow early on as both men felt the other out. Chris matched Bill closely with the champ resorting to pulling out a chain from his boot. The champ punched the challenger just outside of the referee's view. Dundee drop the chain when Sytch popped her top on the ring apron. Candido picked up the chain & nailed the champ when he turned around. Chris had the 1-2-3 to win the belt.
4. 6 Man Tag Team Match. Wahoo McDaniel, & MVC (Terry Gordy & Steve Williams) over Dick Murdoch & Rhythm & Blues (Greg Valentine & Honky Tonk Man). (19:02). Routh match as everyone got time with each other, including old rivals McDaniel & Valentine. Gordy got a submission from Murdoch with the Oriental Spike. McDaniel broke away from a beatdown by Murdoch & Rhythm & Blues to tag Terry who scored the pin fall.
5. Challenge 4 Man Tag Team Match. United States Heavyweight Champion Stan 'Lariat' Hansen & Lars Anderson won by CO over the Minnesota Wrecking Crew Gene & Ole Anderson. (16:33). The Andersons jumped Lars & Stan at the bell & went to work on Lars. Finally Stan got the tag & hit the Laiat on a pair of Andersons. The Minnesota Wrecking Crew found this team was a little more than they bargained for so took the count out loss.
6. NWA World's Tag Team Championship Match. (Champs): The Kentuckians by DQ over (Challs): US Tag Team Champions the Masked Assassins. (14:54). The Kentuckians had their hands full with the determined Assassins. With the help of loaded masks, they took advantage scoring near pin falls. However, the World Tag Team Champs sparked a comeback that sent the masked heels going out of the ring to retrieve steel chairs that resulted in their disqualification. The Kentuckians called for the Assassins to come back to the ring.
7. First Main Event. NWA World's Heavyweight Championship Match. (Champ): 'Bruiser' Brody w/mgr. 'Playboy' Gary Hart dropped the title back to (Chall): 'Big' Van Vader w/mgr. Rock Hunter. (18:31). Brody attacked Vader with punches, kicks & a drop kick or two. Vader counted with body bumps, short punches & head butts. The match went back & forth until a freak accident occurred to the champ. Brody took several shots from Vader, stumbled &caught his nick between the middle & top rope. He was choking. Hart & the referee finally got Bruiser free but he was winded with an injured neck. Hunter talked to Vader during the tie up. The challenger rocked Brody with shots to the head before the champion fell into the ring corner. The challenger hit the Vader Splash on Brody who slumped to the mat. Hart tried to grab Brody's leg but Hunter tackled him to the floor. Bruiser fell to the mat. Vader pulled him to the center of the ring for a the splash to win back the NWA World's Heavyweight Title. Rock made it to the ring to celebrate with the new champion. Brody had to be revived by medical personal & helped to the back of the Coliseum.
8. Second Main Event. Loser Leaves NWA for 1 Year Match under Lights Our Rules inside an18-foot steel cage. No coming back under a mask, as a manager or a referee. 'Cowboy' Bill Watts beat Fritz Von Erich. (11:21). Watts & Von Erich wasted no time going after about five minutes outside of the ring before eventually getting inside where the blood began flow. The Cowboy got a break when the German trooper went for the Claw & crashed it against the mat. Watts stomped away on the hand rendering it useless. Minutes later, Bill hosted Fritz up for the Oklahoma Stampede running him into the cage several times before pinning him. After the match, a medical team came in with a stretcher to take Von Erich out to an ambulance.
