Cue the music! Cue the pyro! RoH Wrestling is live on the air!
We begin this week’s episode with Kurt Angle making his way to the ring to a large ovation from the crowd who are just as excited to see him this week as they were when he made his surprise debut the week before.
Angle grabs a microphone and thanks the crowd for the warm welcome before exclaiming how excited he is to be in Ring of Honor. Angle hypes tonight’s tournament matches, before stating he can’t wait to find out who his next opponent will be, but reminds the crowd that won’t happen until next week. Angle then turns his attention to his opponent last week, Matt Taven. Angle applauds Taven’s fight and put him over as a much tougher challenger than he anticipated, calling him a potential major star for this company in the future, before explaining that Taven’s ego would end up being his downfall.
Like clockwork, Matt Taven comes out from behind the curtain, flanked as always by his Kingdom partners TK O’Ryan and Vinny Marseglia. Taven sarcastically thanks Angle for the vote of confidence before telling him “If I wanted the approval of a washed up has been, I’d go work for that company with Gorilla Monsoon!” Angle takes offence to the insult of both himself and his former company and takes a step towards Taven, but is quickly blocked by O’Ryan and Marseglia. Never one to back down from a challenge, Angle offers to take on all 3 members of The Kingdom right now, but Taven scoffs at his challenge and instead tells him to find two tag partners and we’ll have a 3-on-3 tag match tonight. Angle immediately agrees stating he already knows two guys in the back who will be more than happy to lend him a hand before heading to the back as we fade out to our first commercial break of the night.

Match #1: Singles Match
Sheamus vs. Charlie Haas (w/ Shelton Benjamin)
RoH World Heavyweight Championship Tournament: Round #1
All 3 men make their Ring of Honor debuts during this match, though Benjamin is nothing more than a spectator for his best friend and tag team partner Charlie Haas. Has is able to match the technical skill of Sheamus in this match, but Sheamus’ far superior brawling ability is what gives him a clear advantage in this one, allowing him to take control for longer period of this one, and slowly wear down Haas. The finish comes almost as expected, with Sheamus laying out Haas with a Brogue Kick to win this one and advance to the next round of the tournament.
Winner: Sheamus by pinfall @7:37
After the match, The Kingdom come racing back down to the ring and begin to lay the boots to Charlie Haas! Shelton slides in to the ring to try and save his partner, but it is no use as he also falls victim to the brutal assault from the 3 members of The Kingdom. Sheamus stands in the ring watching the assault on the World’s Greatest Tag Team while trying to decide if he should lend a hand or not, before eventually choosing to exit the ring and head to the back. The Kingdom’s assault spills to the outside as the 3 men continue to work over Haas and Benjamin, sending them in to the ring posts and the barricades multiple times before leaving both men down and in a pool of their own blood. Eventually, Kurt Angle comes running back down to the ring for the save, but the damage has already been done, and The Kingdom exit through the crowd having seemingly taken out Angle’s tag partner’s for tonight’s match.
{We get a video promo hyping Bobby Lashley’s return from suspension next week! }
We head backstage to the EMTs taking both Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas out of the arena on stretchers. Angle is rushing by their side, and left furious as the Ambulances drive off, leaving him to now have to find another set of partners for tonight’s match.
{Back to the ring we go where Ring of Honor Television Champion, Mike Bennett is already standing in the ring with a microphone in hand.}
Bennett declares himself RoH’s only true fighting champion as he’s not only embraced the fact that he needs to defend his title every single week, but just last week in his first defence, he showed that he’s able and willing to go the distance if it’s required. Bennett then insult Chris Sabin’s lackluster effort the week before, claiming that he was already kicking out of the pinfall before the time ran out, so Sabin would have never beaten him anyways. Bennett tells Sabin that he failed in his attempt to become a champion in Ring of Honor, and wishes him the best of luck in the tag tournament, because as far as he is concerned, Chris Sabin has moved to the back of the line! Taking a moment to soak in the crowd’s boos, Bennett demands his opponent get down to the ring so he can make his defence and get the hell out of here.
The Whisper is out to challenge Mike Bennett, accompanied by a man in a white mask, crawling on his hands and knees, and attached to the hand of The Whisper by a dog collar and chain. The commentators discuss who this person is accompanying The Whisper to the ring, before Steve Corino informs them that it’s name is The Lithuanian Snow Troll.
Match #2: Singles Match
The Whisper (w/ Lithuanian Snow Troll) vs. Mike Bennett ©
Ring of Honor Television Championship
A much easier defense for Mike Bennett this time around, as the much smaller and less experienced Whisper doesn’t make for too much of an issue for Bennett to deal with. The RoH Television Champion takes his time picking apart his opponent while taunting the Snow Troll on the outside. Eventually, after what seemed like far too much playing around, Bennett lays out The Whisper with The Power for Love for an easy victory in his second title defence.
Winner: AND STIIIIILLLLL RoH Television Champion, Mike Bennett by pinfall @ 8:06
Bennett begins to leave the ring as the Lithuanian Snow Troll slides in to check on The Whisper. Unable to turn down any chance to be an asshole, Bennett turns around and grabs the Lithuanian Snow Troll, tossing him up against the ropes and beginning to scream in his face, threatening to beat him up as well if he doesn’t unmask. The crowd begins to cheer as off camera, another man dressed identical to the Snow Troll slides in to the ring. The Snow Troll in the corner begins to point behind Mike Bennett, trying to inform him of what’s behind him. Slowly, Bennett turns around and is shocked to see another Lithuanian Snow Troll standing in the ring! Bennett turns his attention back to the original Snow Troll, who removes his mask to reveal himself as Alex Shelley!
Shocked, Bennett quickly turns to the second Snow Troll who reveals himself to be none other than Chris Sabin!
Shocked, Bennett tries to retreat from the ring, but his way is blocked by Alex Shelley who levels him with a hard right hand, causing Bennett to stagger back in to Chris Sabin who lays the Champion out with a Cradle Shock!
Sabin hold the RoH Television Championship high up in the air as the crowd cheers. Mike Bennett may seem to think Chris Sabin is now at the back of the line, but he may have a hard time convincing Sabin.

We head back from commercial with Kurt Angle on the phone in his locker room. It is quickly revealed that he is talking to Rob Van Dam, and asking him to be one of his partners tonight. RVD tells Angle he would love to help him out, but Van Dam is not in the building tonight as he was given the week off by Eric Bischoff to spend some time with his family before the RoH schedule begins to pick up in the New Year. Disappointed, Angle thanks RVD before hanging up the phone, and turns to see Austin Aries and Scarlett Bordeaux standing in his locker room.
Aries offers his condolences for what happened earlier tonight with Haas and Benjamin before offering his services as a partner tonight as well. Angle thanks Aries and goes to shake his hand, but Aries pulls it back, informing Angle that this partnership has it’s conditions. Aries informs Angle that he’ll only agree to be his partner tonight, if Angle allows Aries to take his spot in the RoH World Heavyweight Championship tournament. Angle turns Aries’ offer down immediately, and Aries sarcastically offers Angle the best of luck tonight. Aries begins to leave the locker room before turning and around and reminding Angle that it looks like his match will be a 3-on-1 handicap match, so Aries will be more than happy to take Angles’ spot in the tournament when he pulls out after the beating he’s going to take tonight. Aries and Bordeaux leave the locker room with Angle fuming as we head back to the ring for more action.
Match #3: Singles Match
Ken Kennedy vs. Seth Rollins
RoH World Heavyweight Championship Tournament: Round #1
An excellent match from two seasoned veterans who put everything on the line for this one. Kennedy has always been a guy who gets lost in the shuffle and with tonight being the RoH crowd’s first taste of him, he’s doing everything he can to make an impression. The two superstars brawl both in the ring and outside of it, as the crowd stays hot from beginning to end of this one. The finish comes after Kennedy just manages to move out of the way of a Stomp, and grabs Rollins for a Mic Check. Before he can pull off his finisher, the two masked superstars from the last couple weeks appear from the crowd and hop up on the apron “Shield Style” causing Kennedy to stop dead in his tracks in confusion. The two superstars stay up on the apron as Kennedy begins to shout at them, but jump off the apron to the floor as he begins to move closer. Not seeing the commotion as he was dazed, Rollins gets to his feet and nails an unsuspecting Kennedy with the Revolution Knee before finishing him off with a Stomp for the 3 count!
Winner: Seth Rollins by pinfall @15:28
As Rollins begins to celebrate his victory, he finally notices to two masked men standing at ringside and stops dead in his tracks, demanding to know what they want from him. The two masked men hop back on the apron, before slowly getting in to the ring. Rollins stares them both down as the bigger man picks up Kennedy’s body and sends him over the top rope, clearing him from the ring. Rollins steps back, readying for a fight, but instead the two masked men just hold their fists out “Shield Style” asking Rollins to do the same. A hush falls over the crowd as the announcers try to figure out if these two men really are who they say they are. Rollins looks both men up and down before shaking his head in confusion and backs out of the ring slowly as an updated tournament graphic flashes on our screens before we head to our final commercial break of the evening.

{He’s here! Luke Harper makes his Ring of Honor debut next week!}
Main Event: 3-on-1 Handicap Match
The Kingdom (Matt Taven, TK O’Ryan & Vinny Marseglia) vs. Kurt Angle
Angle’s out to the ring alone for this one, much to the enjoyment of The Kingdom who begin to circle the Olympic Gold Medalist like a pack of dogs. Taven begins to taunt Angle, who quickly shuts him up with a hard right hand that sends Taven flat on his ass! TK O’Ryan charges in, but Angle side steps him and quickly ducks under a punch for Vinny Marseglia before taking him down with a German Suplex! O’Ryan charges back at Angle, but is met with a German Suplex of his own as the crowd goes wild. Angle is fired up! He pull down the straps on his singlet and motions to O’Ryan and Marseglia to get up, but Angle’s momentum in thwarted when Matt Taven clotheslines him in the back of the head, dropping him to the ground as all three members of the Kingdom begin to stomp Angle. The Kingdom continue to beat down on Kurt Angle as the referee tries to clear the ring in order to officially start this match, but Taven, O’Ryan and Marseglia refuse to listen to the referee dragging Angle in to the corner and working him over some more. Taven yells to O’Ryan and Marseglia to set Angle up for the Climax, but before Taven can hit his finishing maneuver…..
The music of Keith Lee hits and out he comes to the roar of the crowd! Lee makes his way down to the ring as The Kingdom watch on. They quickly back up as Lee enters the ring and begins helping a dazed Kurt Angle back up to his feet. Lee asks Angle if he’s okay, and Kurt Angle slowly nods his head yes, before signalling to The Kingdom to bring it on again. This time, Keith Lee takes a step forward yelling to the referee to ring the bell as this match has now become a 3-on-2 handicap match!
Main Event: 3-on-2 Handicap Match
The Kingdom (Matt Taven, TK O’Ryan & Vinny Marseglia) vs. Kurt Angle & Keith Lee
Angle, selling the beating from earlier on, plays the face in peril for most of this match, relying on Keith Lee to get most of the offense done early on. Frequent tags from the Kingdom allow the 3 men to stay somewhat fresh, but Lee and Angle are not easy opponents, even in a 3-on-2 match. The finish comes after Keith Lee dives through the middle ropes, taking out Marseglia and O’Ryan on the outside!
Taven, who is in the ring, surveys the carnage on the outside and demands the referee begin a 10-count as he believes Lee was the legal man on his team. To his surprise, Lee was slapped on the back by Kurt Angle as he bounces off the ropes. Angle spins Taven around, nails him with an Angle Slam and covers him for the 3 count!
Winners: Kurt Angle & Keith Lee by pinfall @21:14
Angle and Lee celebrate their victory in the ring together as Ring of Honor Wrestling slowly fades off the air.
