AEW Dynamite
December 11, 2019
Live from Los Angeles, CA
We open up AEW Dynamite to a recap of what closed last week’s show.
We see the morgue doors labeled with PCO and Brody King’s name on them.
We see the image of Aleister Black muttering the words “he is my strength and my shield” followed by the ominous warning of what will happen to those who are unfaithful to "him" presumably meaning Killer Kross.
We then go to the Dynamite commentators, Kevin Kelly and the always boisterous Don Callis.
Kevin Kelly: Welcome to AEW Dynamite and what a show we have in store for you tonight! After last weeks disturbing ending, we STILL do not have an update on the events that occured and have not heard anything from Killer Kross, Aleister Black, PCO and King, or James Mitchell.
Don Callis: Kevin, I’ve had nightmares every night this past week because of what we witnessed. I’m pretty sure I have PTSD. There’s not been many days I didn’t want to come to work, but today has been one of them.
Kevin Kelly: An eerie feeling has already settled into the arena here in Los Angeles and we hope to get some answers here tonight. But what better way than to kick off Dynamite with AEW’s newest breakout star, Kota Ibushi? Let’s head to the ring!
Match 1
Kota Ibushi v. Lance Archer
The fans are solely behind Ibushi who looks to be in the zone. Archer continues to yell “SHUT UP!” to fans who are sitting at ringside and even goes as far as leaving the ring to rip up a sign that says “Golden Star.” As Archer slides back in the ring, the bell sounds and Archer goes on the attack trying to snuff out Ibushi early in the match. Ibushi is able to catch Archer with a big strike…
Followed by a vicious combination of strikes to get the big man down on his knees. Ibushi follows up with a shining wizard, only for a near fall. Over the next several minutes, both men continue to battle and trade momentum until Ibushi nails a roundhouse kick…
Followed by a springboard moonsault! Ibushi makes the cover and successfully defeats Lance Archer at 8:23.
Winner: Kota Ibushi by pinfall
Out of nowhere, Ibushi’s ex- tag team partner Kenny Omega appears behind Ibushi and begins to beat him down with forearm smashes!
Kevin Kelly: WHAT THE HELL?!
Don Collis: Oh my God, Kenny Omega has appeared and is now beating down his best friend and former tag partner!!!
The crowd begins booing as Kenny leaves the ring.
Kenny gloats about his behavior on the outside of the ring as the referee checks on the condition of Kota Ibushi. This attack, seemingly out of nowhere, has the fans riled up who are booing viciously at Omega. We go to commercial break.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
“To be honest, I have no idea what’s going on. All I know is that I was supposed to defend this title against Killer Kross last week, but instead we get a horrific video of Aleister Black seemingly doing the devil’s handiwork by putting King and PCO in a morgue? And beating up James Mitchell to top it off? Look, I’m just trying to be a valiant champion and go out there and do what I do best. Kross is clearly in another world of his own and I have no clue what he wants. It’s not over between Kross and I. He brought my wife and child into this and I’ll be damned if I’m expected to sit back and just let this go. It’s not over.”
Match 2
America’s Most Wanted v. Forgotten Sons (Blake/Cutler)
The match kicks off with Wesley Blake and Chris Harris squaring off. After a quick shine from Harris, Blake turns things around and grounds Harris on the mat by locking him in a chinlock. Harris is able to break free, but it’s a forceful right hand that knocks Harris back down as Blake locks in the chinlock again. Storm gets the crowd going and fully behind Harris who is able to execute three elbows to the gut, followed by a back elbow to the jaw of Blake. After a few moments of exhaustion, Harris is able to leap for the hot tag and here comes Storm! Storm clothesline Blake, clotheslines Cutler on the apron, and then attempts the Last Call Superkick but Blake ducks. Blake tries to take Storm down, but…
LAST CALL SUPERKICK CONNECTS! Storm covers...1….2….3! AMW wins at 8:35.
Winners: AMW by pinfall
“Greetings to all my halfwits and dullards out there in TV land. My name is Aron Stevens and I have come to emancipate you from the monotony that is All Elite Wrestling. Rest assured, my debut will be the grandest event to take place in the history of all of space and time. The moment I choose to grace you with my presence will be the moment you break down with tears, crying aloud HAIL STEVENS! And I will look upon you, pull you to a vertical base, and reassure you that your ignorance is not your own fault, but a genetic disposition you have unfortunately received from your parents. I am your emancipator, I am your liberator, and I will never look down upon you for being so vacuous. YOU’RE WELCOME.”
Match 3
“The National Treasure” Nick Aldis v. Chris Benoit
Nick Aldis prances to the ring in cocky fashion garnering the boos of the audience. However, when Chris Benoit’s music hits, the arena comes unglued as the Crippler makes his way to the ring. As the bell sounds, both men lock up and begin to engage in a beautiful sequence of chain wrestling. Aldis managed to counter a headlock into a near fall, breaking up the chain wrestling. Both men continue to trade strikes in the ring until a rake to the eyes gives Aldis the advantage. Aldis shoots Benoit off the ropes…
And connects with a high angle back body drop, dropping Benoit right on his tailbone. Aldis taunts the crowd as they boo. He smirks and continues to work over Benoit’s legs, perhaps with the King’s Cloverleaf in mind. Benoit is able to grab Aldis’ leg and pull him down…
And lock in the Crippler Crossface! Aldis begins to panic, trying to grab the ropes, but he’s too far away! Aldis manages to shift his weight into a pinfall...1….2...Benoit kicks out! Aldis and Benoit stand up at the same time, Aldis groggy, which leads Benoit into shoving Aldis into the corner and begins to punch him in the head. Benoit backs up and attempts a running clothesline, but Aldis moves and rolls Benoit up! 1! 2! NO! The crowd is going crazy as Aldis brings Benoit towards the center of the ring and attempts to hit him with a piledriver. Instead..
Benoit locks in the Crossface again! After several moments pass by of Aldis struggling, he finally realizes he cannot escape and begins to slap his hand on the mat in a panic at 16:22.
Winner: Chris Benoit by submission
Benoit stands up and celebrates his impressive victory over Aldis.
“Elijah Burke! You keep bragging about how good you are. How about you prove it and give me a shot at the National Title? If you’re as good as you say you are, you’ll accept my challenge!”
Benoit slams the mic down as his music hits again. The crowd cheers, as we head to commercial break.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Dakota Kai is backstage. She’s in good spirits as she reflects on her victory over Tessa Blanchard last week. Dakota says she’s had nothing handed to her, nor does she have a famous last name to rely on. Dakota says that her victory over Tessa has put her in the top contendership for the Women’s Championship. Dakota says that Tessa better enjoy her title while she can because soon, there will be a new face of the Women’s division.
Match 4
Tommaso Ciampa v. Dynamite Kid
Tommaso Ciampa and the Dynamite Kid stand across the ring from each other as the bell sounds. Both men are about to lock up, until Tomasso Ciampa pulls back. He wipes the sweat from his palms. Tomasso calls for a test of strength. As Dynamite Kid is about to engage in the test of strength, he smirks and rolls out of the ring. The fans begin to boo as Dynamite stands in the ring, throwing his hands up. The referee has no choice but to count out Tomasso Ciampa who walked away, seemingly with other things on his mind. The match ends at a measley 53 seconds.
Winner: Dynamite Kid by count out

COMMERCIAL BREAK
“Switchblade” Jay White makes his way to the ring to bring us back from a commercial break that seemed to last forever. In the ring, he huddles in the corner and seems distraught, perhaps over his loss to Daniel Bryan. He demands a microphone.
“There is a conspiracy here in All Elite Wrestling and it’s against me! What do I have to do to get a fair shot around here? If you watched Full Gear, you saw that Daniel Bryan cheated to retain his title against me! He poked me in the eye! And what is being done about it? Nothing! Killer Kross returns from suspension and demands a title shot and he gets preferential treatment! Why? Because everyone is soooo scared of him! Meanwhile, I am standing here waiting...BEGGING...for an opportunity and for someone to do the right thing for once, and NOTHING HAPPENS! There is a conspiracy against Jay White and I am not afraid to make it known!”
Suddenly…
IT’S HIROSHI TANAHASHI! Hiroshi Tanahashi is ALL ELITE! Jay White stomps in a fit of rage as the crowd erupts. Tanahashi slaps hands with the fans as he graciously makes his way to the ring, only as he can. He enters the ring as Jay White is boiling with rage. Tanahashi raises his eyebrows, feigning concern for White. Tanahashi gets nose to nose with Jay White as a referee runs down the ramp, and Jay White is pissed!
Match 5
“Switchblade” Jay White v. Hiroshi Tanahashi
As the bell sounds, White wastes no time grabbing Hiroshi and hitting a nasty looking saito suplex. White gets on the mat and starts driving his forearm repeatedly into the side of Tanahashi’s head, causing the fans to erupt with massive boos. Tanahashi is able to start making a comeback who nails a series of forearms, dropkicks, and an enziguri that rocks White. Tanahashi brings White to his feet before taking him back down with a vicious dragonscrew, nearly dislocating White’s knee in the process. After working the leg of White a bit, Hiroshi brings him back up and nails a Urunage, Belly to Belly suplex, and a brainbuster for a near fall! Jay White seems helpless at this point as Tanahashi begins to close in. Tanahashi nails a second brainbuster on Jay White, heads up to the top rope...
and nails the High Fly Flow frog splash on Jay White! 1! 2! 3! Hiroshi Tanahashi is successful at 12:10.
and nails the High Fly Flow frog splash on Jay White! 1! 2! 3! Hiroshi Tanahashi is successful at 12:10.
Winner: Hiroshi Tanahashi by pinfall
After the match, Hiroshi celebrates as he makes his way up to the ring. Jay White remains in the ring, slapping the mat over and over, screaming “he cheated!”
COMMERCIAL BREAK
We come back to commercial break for our final segment of the evening.
AEW Dynamite General Manager Mark Henry is in the ring with a concerned look on his face. As his music dies down, he begins to speak.
“I know there’s been a lot of controversy since last week about what’s going on around here. Let me start by saying, I really don’t know what’s going on. I haven’t heard from James Mitchell or the tag team champions PCO and Brody King, nor have I heard from Killer Kross. I checked with the Saint Louis police department and they had no idea what I was talking about. All I know is that Kross wanted a title shot, Bryan gave him that shot, and then he never showed up. Instead, we got a very disturbing video of Aleister Black, who isn’t even a contracted wrestler here. And to top it off, now my tag champs are missing.”
Henry shrugs as he continues to speak.
“So what am I supposed to do? I got no choice. If Kross or Aleister don’t come clean next week then I’ll have to choice but to strip PCO and King of the tag titles and BAN Killer Kross from receiving a world title shot for the next 365 days! Kross, we want answers. Daniel deserves answers. And I expect them answers next week.”
And with that, Mark Henry drops the mic and poses for the fans in attendance.
Kevin Kelly: Mark Henry demanding answers and he expects them by next week!
Don Callis: Kevin, I cant help but wonder if everyone is ok? This is the most bizarre situation I’ve ever seen in my life.
Kevin Kelly: Don, there will be repercussions if we do not receive those answers by next week. Ladies and gentlemen thank you for joining us on this episode of Dynamite! For Don Callis, I’m Kevin Kelly - goodnight!
