RoH Wrestling: Episode #1
Friday, December 6th, 2019
Toronto, Ontario
Announcers: Mauro Ranallo, Steve Corino & Tazz
Cue the music! Cue the pyro! RoH Wrestling is live on the air!
Eric Bischoff is standing in the ring to start off the show. He welcomes everyone to the first ever episode of RoH Wrestling before getting down to business. Bischoff confirms tonight’s Main Event is a tag team match pitting Seth Rollins and RVD against Bobby Lashley and Big Show before reminding everyone that the tournament for the RoH World Heavyweight Championship starts next week.
A graphic for the tournament is shown. Bischoff then announces the first two matches next week will be Brian Kendrick vs. Austin Aries and Matt Taven vs. Big Show before announcing that once the tournament ends it will be right back to business with another tournament next month to crown the first RoH World Tag Team Champions! Speaking of Championships, Bischoff announces tonight we will crown our very first RoH Champion as the first match in Ring of Honor history is going to be a 10-man over the top elimination Battle Royal to crown the first RoH Television Champion! Before starting the match, Bischoff takes a moment to explain that the Television Championship will be defended by the respective champion every week, and that the superstars who chose to enter this match did so by forfeiting their opportunity to be in the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. With that said, Bischoff once again thanks everyone for making history and leaves the ring so that match can begin.

Next out is The Whisper. Trying to get an upper hand on Sabin who had just eliminated Ace Austin, Whisper grabs Sabin only to be countered and tossed over the ropes himself.

Sabin is then blindsided by Mike Bennett and worked over in the corner as Orange Cassidy and Apollo Crews face off in the center of the ring! Cassidy with deadly slow motion strikes to Crews, each strike causing the crowd to roar with excitement. Annoyed, Crew shoves Cassidy who comes off the ropes, but is caught by Crews, who lifts him over up over his head and goes to toss him out of the ring. Cassidy manages to slip behind Crews, but before he can strike, Drew Gulak comes rushing over and pushes Crews, sending both men over the top rope!
APOLLO CREWS ELIMINATED BY DREW GULAK!
ORANGE CASSIDY ELIMINATED BY DREW GULAK!
Sabin manages to gain control in his battle with Mike Bennett and tosses him through the middle rope. He then looks over to the officials on the floor for a call on Bennett’s status in the match, but this buys enough time for Elias to break free on his battle with Lio Rush and rush over to Sabin, dropkicking him from behind and sending him over the top rope, but Sabin manages to hold on. Lio Rush comes over to help Elias eliminate Sabin, but Elias betrays him, sending him over the top rope instead!
LIO RUSH ELIMINATED BY ELIAS!
Elias doesn’t have much time to celebrate though, as he’s quickly eliminated by Jeff Jarrett!
ELIAS ELIMINATED BY JEFF JARRETT!
Furious, Elias has some words with Jarrett on the outside as the officials try to usher him to the back. Breaking free, Elias grabs his guitar and rolls back in to the ring, breaking it over the head of Jarrett. With Jarrett now down, Drew Gulak picks him up and easily eliminates him from the match as Elias walks to the back with a smirk on his face.

Gulak then turns his attention to Chris Sabin as the two stand face to face as the only two men left in the ring. Two the superstars begin squaring off in the centre of the ring with a mixture of technical and speed wrestling that has the crowd on their feet! Ranallo, Tazz and Corino begin to discuss what this means for next month’s Tag Team Championship Tournament with one half of the Motor City Machine Guns now seemingly holding gold of their own. Sabin motions to the referee for the Championship, but the referee shakes his head. Confused, Sabin begins to question the referee, allowing Mike Bennett enough time to slide back in to the ring and toss Sabin over the top, officially ending the match.

(A video package plays highlighting Brian Kendrick’s career to this point and what an opportunity in the RoH World Heavyweight Championship tournament means to him. Kendrick claims to have reinvented himself and vows to not only leave next week with a victory over Austin Aries, but to become Rig of Honor’s first World Heavyweight Champion at Best in the World.)
We head backstage to Tom Phillips who is joined by Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley.
Sabin looks extremely frustrated with the events of the last match and announces that he’s decided to he’ll be Mike Bennett’s first challenger next week. Sabin tells Bennett he’ll see how good he really is when he doesn’t have the ability to attack him from behind this time. When Tom Phillips ask Alex Shelley what this means for the Motor City Machine Guns’ status for next month tag tournament, Shelley confidently assures Phillips that they will ready to be a part of the tournament, but right now the focus is on Mike Bennett and the RoH Television Championship.
Match #2: Tag Team Match
Forever Hooligans (Alex Koslov & Rocky Romero) vs. Mustache Mountain (Trent Seven & Tyler Bate)
A hard hitting match between two physical teams that kept the fans on their feet for most of the bout. With both teams playing the fan favourite role, the crowd had a hard time deciding who they wanted to emerge victorious in this one. Trent Severn spent a large portion of this match working over Koslov with frequent tags to his partner Tyler Bate as the announcers constantly made references to this being a potential tournament final for next month. The finish came after a hot tag to Rocky Romero who began to clean house! The action spilled to the outside where Romero tags in Koslov before taking out Trent Severn with a crossbody to the outside. This allowed Koslov to get Tyler Bate in with a running double knee stomp to the head for the 3 count!
Winners: Forever Hooligans by pinfall @ 12:14
We go backstage again to Tom Phillips who is standing by with Ring of Honor’s #1 Draft Pick, Seth Rollins
Rollins shares his excitement for being part of Ring of Honor and mentions how disappointed his is to have to wait another two weeks for his tournament match against Ken Kennedy, but vows to become the first RoH World Heavyweight Champion. Rollins then turns his attention to tonight’s Main Event calling it a dream to team with someone of RVD’s stature, and calling it the perfect warm up match against two tough opponents in Bobby Lashley and Big Show. Before Rollins can continue, he is interrupted by Austin Aries.
Aries arrogantly tells Rollins not to get too far ahead of himself before telling him that he’s won’t be getting any further than the semi-finals if he even makes it that far, as the brackets line up to show a Rollins/Aries semi-final could potentially happen. Amused, Rollins wishes him the best of luck and says he looks forward to it, if they both make it that far, but Aries shrugs him off, assuring Rollins that he’d just be another easy victory on his path to the Championship. Insulted, but not showing any signs of defeat, Rollins wishes Aries the “Best of Luck” before tapping him on the shoulder and walking away. Phillips begins to leave as well, but is stopped by Aries. Austin Aries demands he interview him about next week’s match with Brian Kendrick, but decides he’s going to do all the talking anyways. Aries pokes fun of Kendrick’s video package and wonders why RoH wasted money producing such garbage when the main star of the match is standing right here. When Phillips questions Aries’ confidence, Austin Aries simply states that he’s the complete package already. He’s got the look, the talent, and he’s got the best support in Ring of Honor.
The camera pans over to see Scarlett Bordeaux now standing beside Austin Aries with her arms around him. Aries says they are the true power couple in Ring of Honor and with Scarlett by his side, things are only looking up. He then pushes Phillips out of the way as him and Scarlett walk off.

Match #3: Singles Match
Killian Dain (w/Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe) vs. Keith Lee
Originally supposed to be Eric Young vs. Keith Lee, Young “allows” his fellow Sanity member to step in on his behalf in order to save himself for the tournament. The announcers try to build this match as a battle between two monsters, but it’s really just a show for Keith Lee who easily disposes of Killian Dain, finishing him off with the Ground Zero for the win.
Winner: Keith Lee by pinfall @ 7:21
We see RVD talking to Rollins in their locker room. The camera then shows Lashley and Big Show discussing their strategy for the match as well. The Main Event is next!

MAIN EVENT: Tag Team Match
Bobby Lashley & Big Show vs. Rob Van Dam & Seth Rollins
Lashley and Rollins start this match off, much to the delight of those watching live and at home. Lashley takes control early, using his strength to overpower Rollins, but Seth manages to get in some offense of his own, causing Lashley to tag out to Big Show. RVD tags in as well and gets a few kicks off on the legs of Big Show, but is soon flattened. Big Show continues to work over RVD with tags in and out to Lashley while RVD spends a large majority of the math isolated in his opponent’s corner. RVD with a hot tag to Rollins who isn’t able to clean house against the two bigger opponents like he normally could against someone a little smaller. Rollins Superkicks Big Show, but is hit with a Spear by Lashley who is only able to get a two count.
The match slows down again while Lashley continues to work over Rollins allowing the crowd to make enough noise to try and fire Rollins up. The end of the match comes after a miscommunication from Big Show who accidentally KO Punches Lashley after Rollins moves out of the way! Rollins superkicks Big Show, knocking him down to his knees before hitting The Stomp! Rollins the quickly tags out to RVD who hits the 5-Star Frog Splash for the win!
Winners: Seth Rollins & Rob Van Dam by pinfall @ 20:47
Rollins and RVD celebrate in the ring before beginning to head to the back. As they make their way up the ramp, two masked figures dressed in all black appear at the top of the stage applauding the winners. Rollins and RVD walk up the ramp slowly, but the two masked men seemingly pay no attention to Van Dam, focusing their praise and attention solely on Rollins who stops to stare at the two men before heading backstage, followed soon afterwards by the two masked men.
Back in the ring, Big Show has slowly gotten back to his feet and is joined in the ring by a wounded Lashley. The two begin to have a discussion in the middle of the about what happened at the end of the match before Lashley turns to leave the ring, but he quickly turns around again and levels Big Show with a Spear!
Big Show rolls out to the floor, but Lashley is right on his tail and begins to assault Big Show on the outside, before picking him up and running him in to the ring post! As the boo’s from the crowd rain down on Lashley, he begins to pull the protective matting off from the floor before picking up a groggy Big Show and hitting him with a Dominator on the exposed concrete! Lashley isn’t done yet, as he begins to drag Big Show over to the announce table, stripping the electronics off the table, before picking Show up again and hitting another Dominator through the announce table.
EMTs, referees and backstage personnel rush down to the ring to separate Lashley and check on Big Show. The show slowly fades to a close with Bobby Lashley slowly walking up the ramp with a big smile on his face admiring the carnage while the crowd continues to boo.
