NWA Championship Wrestling Nov. 30, Saturday TV Taping
Before today's show officially opens, we see the conclusion from the 'Count Your Beatings' Pay-Per-View event from last Sunday night where Big Van Vader got a count out victory over NWA World's Heavyweight Champion Bruiser' Brody to earn a title shot at the upcoming Christmas PPV 'A Crimson Christmas on Sunday, December 22, from the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina.
We go live to the announcing team of Gordon Solie & Joey Styles in front of the huge NWA Logo for the new episode of NWA Championship Wrestling. Gordon & Joey welcome the fans back with a lot of action scheduled on today's card. Before going there, they have some announcements to make following some title changes from the PPV event. Gordon states The Kentuckians ('Grizzly' Smith & 'Big' Luke Brown) seconded by Wahoo McDaniel defeated the Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Gene, Lars & Ole Anderson) for the World's Tag Team Titles. It also ended up with Gene & Ole turning on Lars after the loss & kicking him out of the Anderson family. Joey tells everyone that the United States Tag Team Titles changed hands when the Masked Assassins defeated the Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) for the belts in a controversial finish. The Assassins switched out partners with the fresh man getting the pin fall. Solie changes the subject to pre-match interference by Fritz Von Erich on 'Cowboy' Bill Watts in his scheduled title match with United States Heavyweight Champion Stan 'Lariat' Hansen. We have a lot to cover during this hour.
At this time, Big Van Vader joins Gordon & Joey at the desk to talk about his victory over World's Heavyweight Champion 'Bruiser' Brody w/mgr. 'Playboy' Gary Hart. Vader says he did not care how he got the win, although pinning Brody would have been a lot more satisfying. But he will get the chance on December 22 to get back his belt. And Brody will need more than a snake like Gary Hart to keep him from winning the belt.
Commercial break includes promo for NWA merchandise including shirts modeled by Chris Candido & his valet Tammy Sytch.
Gordon brings out Commissioner Jim Barnett to address the situation with Fritz Von Erich. Barnett is passing down the decision by the owner & board concerning the actions of Mr. Von Erich in Bill Watts matches. Fritz Von Erich has been fined $25,000 & is suspended without pay until he pays the fine. Then we will reinstate his license. The NWA has ordered a steel cage match between 'Cowboy' Bill Watts & Fritz Von Erich for 'A Crimson Christmas'. The loser of the match will be banned from the NWA for 1 year. They cannot return under a mask, as a manager or as a referee. The rules are one fall to a finish! No Disqualification! No Time Limit! No Count Out! The Commissioner says this will end this feud between these two once and for all. Bill Watts has already agreed to the match as did Von Erich.
