NWA Championship Wrestling Nov. 23, Saturday TV Taping
We go live to the announcing team of Gordon Solie & Joey Styles in front of the huge NWA Logo for the new episode of NWA Championship Wrestling. Gordon & Joey welcome the fans back with a lot of action scheduled on today's card. Solie begins today's show talking about tomorrow night's coming Pre-Thanksgiving Pay-Per-View, 'Count Your Beatings', set for Sunday, November 24, from Atlanta, Ga. in the State Farm Arena. Featured on today's show is that big match to determine who United States Heavyweight Champion Stan 'Lariat' Hansen opponent will be tomorrow night -- Fritz Von Erich or 'Cowboy' Bill Watts, both former champs. That match will kick off today's show with a tv time limit if needed. Other matches that follow will be standby matches.
Gordon brings out Commissioner Jim Barnett to address to the upcoming match. Barnett explains that due to both men's hot tempers & disregard for the rules at times, they have told them in the dressing rooms thatthe rules will be enforced due to the importance of this match. It is in the best interest of both men to keep their tempers in check. The match will continue until there is a winner or all of the TV time if needed. The winner meets Hansen in the title match while the loser faces Dick Murdoch on tomorrow's PPV card. Any following matches will be stand by matches.
