Asagata: The Rise (Day 6)
Before the event begins, we have Milano Collection AT and Shinpei Nogami going over tonight's card. They are very ecstatic for the show to begin and can't wait to get into the big matchs happening tonight. They also say out their favorites to win the Asagat Puroresu Heavyweight Championship tournament tonight, and have some very clashing opinions. However, they get back to focus on the ring as it's time for the show to begin.
Daisuke Sekimoto and Yuji Okabayashi def Ayato Yoshida and Shota Umino in 6:14 via Lariat from Sekimoto on Umino. Sekimoto and Okabayashi dominated this match, truly showcasing their skills in the tag team division of Asagata Puroresu.
For the next match, Suzuki-Gun came out. As it was time to announce the new member against Kaiyomiya's team, it was revealed to be Jake Lee!
Jake Lee, El Desperado, and Taichi def Kaito Kiyomiya, Hirai Kawato, and Yusuke Okada in 7:18 via Modified Udegatame on Okada. In this match, Suzuki-Gun dominated, and Jake Lee brought a huge showing, rarely even being touched by his opponents (other than Kiyomiya.)
Go Shiozaki def Shingo Takagi in 12:33 via Go Flasher on Takagi. Even though Takagi got the pin over Shiozaki, he couldn't win tonight and was hit with a Go Flasher to wrap it up.
Naomichi Marufuji def Suwama in 13:55 via Shiurani on Suwama. Despite Suwama bringing in a good fight, Marufuji hit the Ko-Oh, followed by a Shiurani to get the pin on Suwama for the win.
Kento Miyahara def Shuji Ishikawa in 13:20 via Shutdown German Suplex Hold on Ishikawa. The much stronger and more hard hitting Ishikawa struggled against Miyahara, and was wiped out in an impresisve showing from Miyahara at the end of the match.
Minoru Suzuki def Takashi Sugiura in 15:16 via Gotch Style Piledriver on Sugiura. Despite being in Suzuki-Gun, they went up against each other in a brutal match.
Sugiura and Suzuki brought their strikes, and at the end bloodied each other up in a war no one knew could win.
At the end of the day, Suzuki proved he was superior, with a better grasp on grappling and submissions, as well as being able to outstrike Sugiura, hitting the Gotch Style Piledriver to win.
Hiroyoshi Tenzan def TAKA in 8:44 via Moonsault on TAKA. You could very well say this was to fill up the card, because Tenzan defeated TAKA in a relatively quick time.
Naomichi Marufuji def Go Shiozaki in 14:37 via Knockout victory from Ko-Oh. In this match, Shiozaki needed to get the win, and despite his desperate tries, he couldn't get the win.
Shiozaki went at it with Marufuji, back and forth. Despite Marufuji would be seen as a clear favorite, the fans went more for Shiozaki, and were heavily rooting for him.
Despite the fans heavily on his side, Shiozaki fails to win, instead getting a Gowan Lariat ruined from a Ko-Oh to the arm, then another Ko-Oh from Marufuji, this time knocking Shiozaki out for the win.
Kento Miyahara def Minoru Suzuki in 16:44 via Blackout Knee. This was an all out match. With two different styles, the unorthodox Kento Miyahara going against the striking and grappling Suzuki.
Early in the match, Suzuki wanted to get rid of that leg that Miyahara mostly used for his Blackout Knee, and even though it looked like Miyahara was on one leg and at a huge disadvantage, he kept fighting.
With Miyahara's leg heavily damaged, it looked to be four limbs against three limbs. And even if it was, Miyahara fought Suzuki like there was no tommorow.
Suzuki wasn't about to strut in to the finals with no problem, and even though he thought he had ended the Blackout Knee for good, Miyahara fought back and hit the Blackout Knee, fighting through the pain to pin him and gain the win.
Yoshinobu Kanemaru def Yuma Aoyagi in 15:39 via Deep Impact to become the new Asagata Jr Heavyweight Champion. Kanemaru and Aoyagi showed themselves off for sure, bringing the fans a good Jr Heavyweight bout.
Despite this, Kanemaru decided that he just needed to cheat, and even though his plans were thwarted, Aoyagi was distracted with the referee putting Kanemaru's whiskey bottle away to walk straight into a Deep Impact.
Kento Miyahara def Naomichi Marufuji in 20:25 via Shutdown German Suplex Hold to win the Asagata Heavyweight Championship. After working some of the hardest matches of their career, they went the distance against each other, back and forth.
Strike after strike, move after move, they were exhausted. Marufuji honored Miyahara, and wanted a clean bout, thus he never targeted the injured leg.
Whether this be Marufuji's biggest mistake, or not, Miyahara brought in his best fight. Even though they were both exhausted, they didn't care, draining everything they had left to win this match.
It looked like Marufuji was going to hit the Pole Shift to win, but Miyahara broke free, hitting the Blackout Knee. This could've been an easy win, but Miyahara rested at his leg.
Marufuji looked to have another win, for an Emerald Flowsion, but instead Miyahara broke free again, and this time a german suplex, followed by a Shutdown German Suplex hold crowned Kento Miyahara the new Asagata Puroresu Heavyweight Champion.
