In a traditional Japanese dojo, we see Pentagon Jr. on his knees asking his master for guidance. Bad News Brown has brutally beaten him in a way that no one has done to him before. His master, the lord of the dark arts, Vampiro, tells him that his beating was humiliating because it is the kind of assault that only happens to a luchador who continues to harbour fear in his heart. Pentagon protests that he has “Cero Miedo!” but Vampiro doesn’t believe him. Pentagon asks him what he must do to prove him wrong and Vampiro replies that he must come with him to a darker place than this.

Eric Young defeated Paul London by pinfall in this match between the leaders of both trio teams that will face each other for the Trios Championship Titles at Ultima Lucha Dos. The Believers were split between which luchador to support. Early on, Young and London exchanged holds. Technical wrestling was the name of the game in the opening 5 minutes of the match. However, the pace picked up after London reached the ropes to break a single-leg crab. When he got up, Young tried to strike but London gave him a step up enzuigiri kick and pinned him for a 2-count. After that, London and Young started running around the ring, hitting each other with offensive moves requiring speed. The pace seemed to be getting faster and faster at all times, until finally London hit a superkick from out of nowhere and covered Young. Alexander Wolfe and Nikki Cross created a distraction that caused a larger scene as Saltador and Mala Suarte went to confront them. While that was happening, Killian Dain entered the ring and gave London a Belfast Blitz and Belfast Bomb. Young climbed the turnbuckle and landed a diving elbow drop to finish him off.

Samoa Joe defeated Son of Havoc and PJ Black by submission. This match was originally supposed to be Son of Havoc versus PJ Black, but Samoa Joe shocked the Believers by walking into the Temple in his ring gear just as the match was about to begin. He entered the ring and said he was ready and hungry for competition. He also said he wants to prove to everyone that he’s 100%, and to show Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar that he’s better than ever before. Dario Cueto exited his office and said that Joe’s presence was a welcomed surprise and because Dario Cueto likes to give the Believers what they want, he was turning this match into a triple threat elimination match! Despite having not completed since Ultima Lucha, and having two opponents instead of one, Joe looked like he didn’t miss a beat. Havoc and Black had a few moments to shine, but not many. This match was mostly all Joe. Within five minutes, he’d pinned Black to eliminate him after giving him a Muscle Buster. About two minutes later, Son of Havoc was forced to tap out to the Coquina Clutch. Joe came to make a statement and he did just that. After winning, he took a microphone and said, “Brock Lesnar, at Ultima Lucha Dos, I’m going to kill you!”

We enter a scene in the Lucha Underground training room, where we see Awesome Kong bench pressing some series weight. She finished her set and places the bar on its resting position. She sits up to grab a drink of water and when she finishes taking a big gulp, she sees “Classy” Freddie Blassie and The Miz. They compliment her for how much weight she can push, and then get straight to the point – they ask her why she isn’t competing in tonight’s Last Luchadora Standing Match – noting that it would be better to win the Mash-Up World Championship because it is far more prestigious than the Gift of the Gods. Awesome Kong’s reply is that she’s already held that championship five times, proof enough for her than the rest of the luchadoras in the Mash-Up Universe are easy competition. She’s got nothing to prove there anymore. Now, she’s going to conquer the luchadores by winning the Lucha Underground Championship – and the best way to get her shot is to win the Gift of the Gods, which she says she will do at Ultima Lucha Dos.

Beth Phoenix defeated Bayley, Lluvia, Nikki Cross Paige, Sexy Star, and Zeuxis by pinfall to earn the right to face Mash-Up Wrestling’s World’s Women’s Champion Chyna - who sat at ringside as Dario Cueto's special guest of honour for the evening - at Ultima Lucha Dos. This was a Last Luchadora Standing Match, meaning that whenever a luchadora could no longer fight, she was eliminated from the match. Lluvia and Zeuxis were the first two luchadoras eliminated from the match. Nikki Cross gave Lluvia a fisherman’s neckbreaker off the play-by-play table, onto the concrete floor and couldn’t get up afterwards. Bayley put a charging Zeuxis threw a table in the corner of the ring with a Bayley-to-Belly suplex.
It was quite a while until the next elimination, which occurred when Beth Phoenix lifted Bayley into a double chicken-wing on the ring apron and then deliver the Glam Slam threw a table onto the floor! Later on, after a ladder had been introduced into the match, Nikki Cross was climbing it, apparently to execute a diving attack onto Phoenix, but then Sexy Star entered the ring and pushed the ladder over, sending Cross tumbling off the ladder, over the ropes, and through a stack of tables, which ended her night. Paige’s night ended as she was on the verge of giving Sexy Star a Ram-Paige DDT.
Sexy Star was saved by Los Perros del Mal, who struck first with double superkicks to Paige from Perro Aguayo Jr. and Daga. They gave Paige to Hector Garza, who executed a crucifix bomb. Then, Alberto El Patron entered the ring, pulled her out and whipped her hard into the wooden seats at ringside. He did it over and over again, while Los Perros del Mal prevented Phoenix from intervening. Rey Mysterio Jr., Prince Puma, Fénix, Aero Star, and Drago ran out to chase them off. With that, the attack ended, but by then the damage had been done and Paige was in no shape to continue competing.
Sexy Star took control of the match and looked like she might win, thanks to the earlier assist from the Latino World Order, but Phoenix refused to stay down. She had a will win and used it to mount a come back. Some time later, she finished the match with a Glam Slam from the middle turnbuckle through a table that ended Sexy Star’s night for good. Phoenix was declared the winner. Chyna, who was seated at ringside as Dario Cueto’s guest of honour entered the ring, starred down Phoenix for a few moments before offering a handshake, which Phoenix accepted. After the handshake, Chyna told her that she could expect to lose at Ultima Lucha Dos.

Kurt Angle enters the Temple, unannounced, to a giant ovation from the Believers. They chant that he sucks, but he wears it as a badge of honour. However, the moment he enters the ring, he’s all business. Angle asks for a microphone and receives. He says that the last time he was in the Temple, he had a message for Dario Cueto and that was that he had better have his Olympic Gold Medals for him or else he was going to snap his frickin’ ankle. “Oh, it’s true! It’s damn true!” It’s been a few weeks, which should have given him all the time in the world to bring them back. Now, he’s calling out El Jefe to do just that.
A trumpet blares and Dario Cueto exits the door to his office. He does not enter the ring, preferring to keep a safe distance. He tells Angle that he has the medals, but he’s not giving them back. Angle is pissed off and quickly leaps out of the ring. In a panic, Cueto tells him to keep his distance, but Angle snidely asks him, “Or else what? You’ll send your cripple brother after me?” and then captures Cueto before he can escape back into the safety of his office. With his hands firmly holding Cueto’s suit blazer, Angle says that he should send out his brother so he can snap his other ankle. Cueto reminds him that the stipulation of his match with Famous B was that if he lost, he’d lose his medals, and he agreed. However, El Jefe is a fair man, so he says, he’ll give Angle the chance to win his medals back next week when he hangs them high above the ring in a Ladder Match!
Angle asks him to give him one good reason why he shouldn’t just snap his ankle and take his medals back right now, and Cueto says, for one they are locked up in his safe, so he can’t get them. And two, if he does that, then he’ll cancel the other stipulation of the ladder match, whereby the winner will receive a Lucha Underground Championship title match against his brother at Ultima Lucha Dos! Angle thinks about it for a moment and then lets him go. Angle walks away, and when he’s made it to the top of the Temple stairs, Cueto tells him that he isn’t going to have only one opponent, he’ll have four – Rey Mysterio Jr., Shinsuke Nakamura, Juventud Guerrera, and the Ultima Warrior!
