The Patriot defeated Bad News Brown by pinfall to move onto the quarterfinals. It was a fairly physical battle in which The Patriot tried to out-wrestle Brown with a number of holds, while Brown tried to take The Patriot to the mat with thunderous punches and kicks. The match also featured plenty of brawling as they took it to the outside where The Patriot slammed Brown’s head into the turnbuckle post and then gave him a belly-to-back suplex on the floor. Brown got back into the match when he caught The Patriot climbing the top rope and took him down with a superplex. Brown’s momentum stalled because of a distraction from Sgt. Slaughter. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan came into the ring with his 2x4, which brought Pentagon Jr. out. He tried to attack Duggan with a slingblade, but Duggan ducked causing Pentagon to take out Brown with the move. After that, Duggan nailed Pentagon with his 2x4 and threw him out of the ring where Sgt. Slaughter applied the cobra clutch. Meanwhile, The Patriot gave Brown the Uncle Sam Slam and pinned him for the win.

We enter Dario Cueto’s office, where we see him pouring a couple of glasses of tequila. He hands one off to Paige, who he compliments while telling her that he’s sorry he doubted her. She takes no offence to it, saying that he had every right not to trust that she had severed her ties with Alberto El Patron and the LWO. On that point, Cueto says that he’d like to see her to convince him that she really has nothing more to do with the LWO, so he’s decided to let her back into the Temple, but her first order of business will be to punish whichever member of those backstabbers The Crew she wants. Paige smiles, downs the glass, and then tells him that she’ll do him one better – she’ll take them both out at once.

Mil Muertes defeated Beth Phoenix by pinfall to move advance to the next round. Phoenix showed no fear in the face of the Man of 1000 Deaths, who showed no restraint on offense in spite of his opponent being female. He proved this early on by slamming him hard into the mat with a big urinage slam. Later, Phoenix showed off her power by giving Mil Muertes a variety of backbreakers, a slingshot suplex, and executing a Beth Valley Driver that nearly won the match. However, Mil Muertes was too difficult to keep pinned to the mat for very long. At one point, he powered out of a pinfall by putting a chokehold on Phoenix and rising to his feet to execute a spinning chokeslam. Impressive as that was, Phoenix kicked out of the pinfall. A few minutes later, though, Mil Muertes found his opening and executed the Reaper’s Trident spear! Then, he nailed the Flatliner and pinned Phoenix for the win.

Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Sexy Star by pinfall to secure the final spot in the quarterfinals. Knowing that it was a tall order to try to advance to the next round by defeating Mysterio, Sexy Star gave Mysterio a low blow from behind before the match officially began, and then used the advantage to apply the cross armbreaker. Sexy Star did enough damage, that Mysterio was essential flying with one less wing. Sexy Star targeted that injured arm throughout the match, but Mysterio’s speed and innovated offence helped him find ways to regain control throughout the contest. He used his legs to maximum effect, kicking Sexy Star, giving her headscissor takedowns and hurricanranas, and using them to springboard off the ropes for his riskier attacks. Mysterio overcame the pre-match attack and went on to win the match by showing off his athleticism when Sexy Star gave him a frankensteiner and he landed on his feet. When she got up, Mysterio dropkicked her into the ropes, right in position for the Six-One-Nine and followed it up with a West Coast Pop to get the 3-count.

We return to Dario Cueto’s office to find him admiring a set of Olympic Gold Medals when a knock is heard on the door. Cueto scrambles to hide the medals away in one of the drawers of his desk before asking who it is and hearing that it is the Advocate of the Beast Incarnate. Cueto tells him to enter and welcomes Mr. Heyman into his office, asking him to what he owes the pleasure. Heyman says that he understands that there will be a one week break before in tournament to see who will compete against Braun Strowman for the Mash-Up World Championship at Ultima Lucha Dos and wondered if Cueto had decided on a main event for next week because he has a very pissed off Beast Incarnate who knows he’s going to enter the ring and kill Samoa Joe at Ultima Lucha Dos, but who needs to let off a little bit of steam none the less. Cueto is happy to have Lesnar come into his Temple at anytime, knowing that he’s one of the biggest draws in the lucha universe. Therefore, he grants him his wish. In next week’s main event, it will be Brock Lesnar versus the former Lucha Underground Champion, Ultimo Dragon.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Dean Ambrose by pinfall to advance into the third round. Both luchadores were over with the Believers and received competing chants of “Let’s go Shinsuke! Let’s go Ambrose!” The King of Strong Style and the Lunatic Fringe were bruising and welting each other pretty good throughout this contest as they gave each other a number of stiff shots. The action spilled out to the floor where Ambrose nailed Nakamura with a pair of topé suicidas in a row, but where Nakamura took control of the match with a nasty looking inverted exploder suplex into the wooden seats at ringside. From there, he took it back into the ring and worked slowly and methodically, but when he draped Ambrose on the top rope for the running knee lift, Ambrose got down to the ring apron, causing Nakamura’s knee to strike the top turnbuckle, then hit the rope assisted enzuigiri kick followed by a slingshot clothesline. Ambrose rallied, culminating with a diving elbow drop to his standing opponent. After a failed pinfall attempt, he tried to execute the Dirty Deeds, but Nakamura took Ambrose back into the corner and then struck him with some knees, including a jumping one that struck him under the chin. An inverted exploder and diving knee from the second turnbuckle set him up Ambrose nicely for the Bomaye! And that was all she wrote!
