Eric Young, Nikki Cross, and Killian Dane of SaNiTy defeated the makeshift trio of Ultimo Dragon, Bayley and Pentagon Jr. by pinfall. This was the first title defense for the Trios Champions. Operating under the Freebird Rule, Nikki Cross was swapped into tonight’s line up in place of Alexander Wolfe, who watched the action from ringside. Their challengers were the exact opposite of a cohesive unit. Ultimo Dragon and Bayley seemed to be on the same page, but Pentagon Jr. was very combative with his teammates. The action kicked into high gear with bodies flying all over the place. Pentagon Jr. executed a tope con hilo on Young and Wolfe. Cross dropped onto all three of them with a diving crossbody from the top turnbuckle. Ultimo Dragon did an Asai moonsault into all of them. And Dane took all of them out with a 300-plus pound tope suicida! The champions were able to win the match later on as Pentagon Jr. and Ultimo Dragon got into a shoving match. The champions took advantage by taking both of them out of the ring. With the referee distracted, Cross thumbed Bayley in the eyes to stop the Bayley-to-Belly and then executed The Purge and pinned her for the win in this hot lucha libre opener.

Rey Mysterio Jr. enters Dario Cueto’s office and asks why Cueto has asked to see him. Cueto tells him that he and his friends had some good luck this week because no one interfered in any of their first round Ultima Lucha Dos Main Event Mash-Up Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship Title Shot Tournament matches. However, he says that he shouldn’t expect that to continue when the second round resumes next week. In fact, he goes on to say that unless Rey and his friends are willing to help him defend the Temple tonight, there may not be a second round of the tournament. For you see, he’s received an anonymous tip that the Latino World Order returning to the Temple tonight and it is coming ready to launch a war. Rey says even though they have a mutual enemy, he’s not sure he can convince some of his friends to help defend the Temple against the LWO because even though they all have a problem with the LWO, some of them also have a serious problem with him. Yes, but Dario Cueto will always give them opportunities to succeed in the Temple, but the LWO will not. Rey sits back and contemplates that for a moment before asking what he proposes they do about the LWO’s arrival. Cueto tells him he has a plan.

Awesome Kong defeated Heath Slater by pinfall. This was a short match that opened with Heath Slater trying to avoid grappling with the Mean Queen. He slid out of the ring, grabbed a microphone and tried to reason with Awesome Kong to go lightly and that he’d do the same. The truth is, he didn’t want to be in this match. He doesn’t feel right hitting women, but this was the only match Dario Cueto would give him, and he needs to earn some money because he’s got kids, damnit! Awesome Kong suckers him into a false sense of security before grabbing him in a double chokehold and executing a sit-out chokeslam. Awesome Kong hit a few more devastating maneuvers on him before giving him a Samoan drop and then executing the Awesome Bomb for the win. Afterwards, Awesome Kong took the microphone and told Slater to enjoy his pay day and then warned The Miz that there would be hell to pay for he did to her. She says that he can run for as long as he likes, but he’ll eventually run of steam, and that’s when she’ll get him.

Son of Havoc defeated Baron Corbin by pinfall in a highly competitive back-and-forth contest that could have gone either way. Son of Havoc’s high-risk, high-flying offense played to the sensibilities of the Believers, who cheered for his springboard double foot stomp, shooting star leg drop, flagpole press, and running cartwheel into an over the top rope corkscrew senton bomb. Corbin showed nothing but pure hatred towards the Believers and seemed to take pleasure in pummeling their guy with his fists, his big boot, sidewalk slam, baseball slide out of and back into the ring lariat, and the Deep Six. And while he appeared to be on the verge of victory with the set up to the End of Days, it didn’t win him the match as Son of Havoc miraculously flipped through the delivery of the move to land on his feet and nail Corbin with a step-up enzuigiri kick that he quickly followed with a fireman’s carry neckbreaker! Moments later, he ascended to the top rope and descended onto his opponent with a shooting star press to win the match.

Interrupting the night’s proceedings are the core members of the Latino World Order: Alberto El Patron, Eddie Guerrero, Perro Aguayo Jr., Héctor Garza Jr., and Daga. They take over the ring to remind everyone that the LWO still exists and that a few weeks ago it said that it was taking the Temple back from Dario Cueto. They’re here tonight to make good on that promise. They went back to Mexico to prepare for the takeover of the Temple and now they are ready. They dare Dario Cueto to do something to try to stop them, knowing full well that he has no friends to help him.
Enter Dario Cueto downstage, with his brother, “The Monster” Matanza Cueto in tow. They stand at the top of the Temple’s concrete steps, looking down at the ring. Cueto dangles the key to Matanza’s cell in front of him and holds a microphone in his other hand. He addresses the fans and the luchadores in the ring. He says that he’s hear and he hopes they’re ready for a battle because he’s ready to defend his Temple. However, El Jefe says, he’s feeling lucky tonight and asks El Patron if he thinks he’s feeling lucky because he has an interesting proposition for him – you see, his brother Matanza Cueto needs to defend his Lucha Underground Championship, but he still hasn’t chosen an opponent to face him, so he’s offering him a unique opportunity to anyone of the LWO to face his brother and if he wins, he becomes Lucha Underground Champion. The members talk it over. It sounds like they all want that opportunity, but El Patron asserts his authority. He is the leader of this outfit, so he’ll fight for the championship gold and takes the keys to the Temple from Dario Cueto all at the same time. Latino Heat still wants it, but backs down, however he’s clearly fuming on the inside. And just like that, we have our main event, which will happen now!

Matanza Cueto defeated Alberto El Patron by pinfall to retain the Lucha Underground Championship. Alberto had plenty of fight in him, but he was outside and outmatched by Dario Cueto’s baby brother. The gamble to allow the leader of the Latino World Order to challenge for the championship payed off for El Jefe as his unlikely back up showed up when needed. As anticipated, the LWO showed up in full force to help El Patron, who was in position for the loss after Matanza gave him a deadlift release German suplex followed by a standing shooting star press, followed by the Wrath of the Gods! 1…2… Eddie Guerrero grabbed Matanza’s foot and pulled him out of the ring. They traded fists until Los Perros del Mal arrived on the scene to overwhelm The Monster. This brought out Rey Mysterio Jr., Prince Puma, Fénix, Aero Star and Drago to even the score. La Parka showed up and severely dented a few chairs in on Matanza’s cranium, which enabled Alberto to give Matanza a backstabber and get him in place for the cross armbreaker. However, Alberto’s main mamacita, Paige, showed up and created a distraction, stopping Alberto in his tracks. Before he could apply his submission hold, she made out with him in the middle of the ring, then told him to finish Matanza off. Dario Cueto furiously shouted that he knew she was not to be trusted, but then after Alberto turned to face Matanza, Paige dropped to her knees and deliver a deadly low blow! Then, she gave him a Paige-Turner! El Jefe was all smiles. Matanza got up, and at his brother’s instructions, gave Alberto another Wrath of the Gods! 1…2…3!
As Dario Cueto lifted his brother’s hand in victory, Kurt Angle snuck into the ring and gave Matanza the Angle Slam! Dario shouted at Angle to stop it, and he responded that he wanted his gold medals back. Angle put the Ankle Lock on Matanza and said he’d keep it held in place until Matanza’s ankle snapped in half if Dario didn’t give him his gold medals back. After some hesitation, Dario Cueto agreed to return them, but said it would take a few weeks. Unsatisfied with the response, Angle applied further pressure, added a leg grapevine and then changed his grip, leading Matanza to let out a harrowing scream. Angle released him and told Dario Cueto that the next time he sees him, he’d better have his medals, or else that’ll happen to him.
