Sexy Star defeated Lluvia, Nikki Cross and Zeuxis by submission when she made Lluvia submit to the cross-armbreaker. Before trapping Lluvia in the submission hold, Sexy Star was having difficulty with Nikki Cross, who gave her multiple fisherman’s swinging neckbreakers before getting thrown out of the ring by Zeuxis, who then took her out with a tope con hilo. Lluvia went for a frog splash on Sexy Star, but she moved and then put her in the cross-armbreaker. Sexy Star held onto the hold a little while after winning, but let go when she saw Bayley running down the stairs, towards the ring.

We enter Dario Cueto’s office, where we see him wrapping up a conversation on the phone. Then, a knock on the door is heard and it is Kurt Angle, who comes to talk about how he should be in tonight’s #1 contender’s match, but that he isn’t because Famous B tried to help him win. Angle complains about how Famous B has tried to help him win many matches only to cause him to lose all of them, which is why he has come here to ask Dario Cueto to give him a match with Famous B next week. Cueto says that Famous B is not a real draw, so he would need to find some other way of selling this match because no one will really want to buy it. Angle knows that Famous B is F-grade competition, but he has a grudge against him and wants to him back for all of the losing it has caused him, so if it can get the match signed, he’ll put his Olympic Gold Medals on the line. Now, he has Cueto’s interest. Cueto tells him that next week, he can have his match.

Cesaro defeated Baron Corbin by pinfall. Corbin was tough as nails, but not tough enough to defeat the Swiss Superman. Although Cesaro was leveled with some hard lariats, a punishing running big boot, a sidewalk slam and the deep six, Cesaro wouldn’t give up. He always fought back and gave Corbin some devastating maneuvers of his own, including a diving European uppercut, a superplex from the ring apron, the giant swing, a sharpshooter, and crossface. In the end, a missed charge into the corner by Corbin was all Cesaro needed. After that, he gave Corbin some rolling gutwrench suplexes and then the Neutralizer to get the win.

The Miz defeated Rey Mysterio Jr. and Prince Puma by pinfall to retain the Gift of the Gods. The Miz was taken out of the match early by Mysterio and Puma, who then put on a 10-minute lucha clinic that had the Believers chanting “lucha libre,” “both these guys,” and “fight forever!” It looked like the younger Puma was poised to take advantage of a mistake by Mysterio, who was attempting a springboard attack, only to get caught in a fireman’s carry and nailed with a Benadryller. Mysterio kicked out of the ensuing pinfall, which prompted Puma to go to the top rope to attempt a the 630-degree senton. It was at this point that The Miz got up from the floor and shoved Puma off the top turnbuckle. He entered the ring and pinned Mysterio for a 2-count. Then, he tried to give him the Skull-Crushing Finale, but Mysterio fought out of it and put The Miz into position for the 6-1-9 with an enziguiri kick. He nailed his signature move and then the West Coast Pop.
Mysterio had The Miz pinned in the middle of the ring, but it was at this point that Los Perros del Mal arrived to attack Mysterio. Prince Puma tried to help Mysterio, but then Alberto El Patron and Eddie Guerrero arrived to turn it into a lopsided 5-on-2 assault, which ended with Prince Puma receiving three finishers from Daga, Hector Garza and Perro Aguayo Jr., and Mysterio receiving a superkick and frog splash from El Patron and Guerrero, respectively. After they evacuated the ring, The Miz capitalized by pinning Mysterio for the win. Before leaving, the five men stood at the top of the Temple stairs where El Patron said that the Latino World Order wasn’t going anywhere, and he declared that it would take the Temple back from Dario Cueto and banish him from it for good.

Dario Cueto is once again on the phone and he appears to be talking to someone about the return of the Latino World Order. Suddenly, “Macho King” Randy Savage barges in. Cueto tells him that now is not a good time, but the Macho King frees up his time by pushing down on the telephone receiver button. So Cueto asks him what he wants and he complains about the crooked referees costing him his match against Shinsuke Nakamura before demanding a rematch against that piece of trash. Cueto quickly grants him his wish, telling him that it’ll happen next week and then tells he needs to go. Savage leaves and Cueto starts placing a phone call.

Brock Lesnar defeated Mil Muertes by pinfall to become the #1 contender to Matanza Cueto’s Lucha Underground Championship. This was a very hard hitting affair that saw both men batter and bruise the other. It saw Lesnar suplex “The Man of a Thousand Deathes” a dozen times, and it saw Mil Muertes back body drop the Beast Incarnate from the ring to the floor, powerslam him into the front row of wooden chairs at ringside, and give him a spinebuster through a table! None of this, however, was good enough to keep either competitor down for good. With Catrina appearing calm and sure of herself, and Paul Heyman alternating from cocky jubilance to heart attack inducing panic, it was as entertaining to watch what the individuals in managerial roles were doing as it was to watch the match. The battle took place both inside and out of the ring and it took more than their usual might to try to conquer one another. Mil Muertes survived the F-5, while Lesnar survived getting speared with the Reaper’s Trident. Ultimately, what ended the match was that Lesnar was able to block a Flatliner attempt and get Mil Muertes into the air for a second F-5, after which a 3-count was inevitable. Now, Lesnar moves on to challenge Dario Cueto’s baby brother for the Lucha Underground Championship on the next episode of Lucha Underground.
