The show opens with a recap of the first round of the Heavyweight title tournament, and then we head to ringside, where we are joined by Ryan Williams and Mike Labonte, our announce team for the evening. They talked about the quarter finals of the tournament beginning tonight, as well as the first round of the Cruiserweight title tournament. Backstage, Christina Mauro is standing in with Cruiserweight title hopeful Aaron James!
Backstage, we see interviewer Christina Mauro, wearing a flashy purple top and black skirt, standing in with Aaron James, "The Apex", who's wearing a sleeveless shirt sporting his nickname and design. His long brown hair in damp and pulled back, and he looks very confidant.
Mauro:
Wrestling fans! Christina Mauro here, and I"m standing in with a man who hopes to become the Cruiserweight champion of Total Wrestling Evolution, Aaron James! Aaron, tonight, you do battle with one of the best high fliers in all of wrestling, Vertigo. What is your approach in taking on a daredevil like him?
James:
A lot of guys are going around, flying and trying to make a name for themselves these days. It's nothing special, and it's nothing I haven't seen before. I"m the "Apex of the Industry" for a reason, and tonight, Vert, you're going to get squashed under the boot of progress. This business doesn't need another high flier, it needs a real champion, and I'm going to give it to them. I'm the man, pure and simple, and I'm going to put this boy in his place on my way to greatness.
James lifts his arms, holding up his index fingers and looking very smug as we cut to the ring.
"The Airbender" Vertigo vs. "The Apex" Aaron James
Vertigo would toy with the very serious James early, showing his impressive agility and avoiding all of James' early on coming attacks. Vertigo would eventually land some offense before turning up the heat and sending James off the ropes, hitting a Corkscrew Spin Kick that sent James to the outside. Vertigo looks like he may leap to the outside, rushing the buckles, but James leaps over the guardrail and hides, leaving Vert to backflip off the buckles and mock James, who looks overwhelmed. Vert eventually allows James back into the ring and the two tie up, but now James lands an eye poke, followed by a headlock to gain momentum and the fans boo! James drags Vertigo's face across the ropes before twisting him and dropping him over his knee with a neckbreaker variation, trying for a cover but only getting a two count. James taunts the crowd before driving multiple knees into "The Airbender" as he lies against the ropes. "AARON JAMES IS THE MAN!" he yells before running and driving a knee across Vertigo's face as he sits in the corner, getting a cringe from the audience. James pulls Vertigo from the buckles and then heads to the middle buckle, flying off with a pointed elbow to the chest and trying for another cover, but just a two again! James instructs the ref on how to count before applying a rear chinlock. James puts his feet on the ropes for added leverage, but the referee catches him and breaks up the hold! James argues and Vertigo sees an opening, rushing James from behind and hitting an AMAZING Reverse Huracanrana! Vertigo calls for the end and heads up top, looking for an Imploding 450 Splash, but James gets the knees up, and that knocks the air out of "The Airbender"! From there, "The Apex" scales the middle turnbuckle and yells out, "IT'S OVER!" before leaping off and delivering a Super Single Foot Stomp to the back of Vertigo's head as he was doubled over, a move James calls the Key West Sunset! James covers the lifeless body of Vertigo smugly as the fans give him a mostly negative reaction and the match is over.
Aaron James grabs the microphone and let's them know that the feeling they have right now is envy, and they'd better get used to it, because Aaron James is THE MAN, Aaron James is THE APEX, and Aaron James is going to win the Cruiserweight title! James tosses the microphone and drops down, arrogantly leaving the ring to a chorus of boos.
Backstage, we see Nate Fatal standing in, wearing a t-shirt brandishing his name and wearing sunglasses.
Fatal:
Jami Blain! You've made a lot of fans for yourself, everybody thinks you're such a good guy. Everybody is talking about how fun and exciting you are, what a shot in the arm you are to the business. You're a guy these fans think they can get behind. Well I'm here to tell ya, pal, you're fifteen seconds of fame are closing in, because Nate Fatal is stealing the show tonight! You're nothing but a speed bump on my road to the title, and after tonight, your dreams of being the champion of TWE are going to feel like a nightmare! You're going to find out when you step in MY WAY... the consequences could be FATAL!
Nate Fatal walks off from there, and we head back to the ring.
Before the next match, Robert Lost makes his way out to the ring wearing a black t-shirt that says, "Notorious" on it in gold lettering, with his name below it and saw Japanese writing in between. He grabs a microphone to address the audience.
Lost:
My name is Robert Lost, and I will soon be the Cruiserweight champion! As fate have it, tonight I face a man named Cain Windsor, who makes his living being a pretend tough guy and likes to wrestle like he's at a ballet recital. Robert Lost is the real deal, and I'm here to kick your limey teeth down your dwarfish little throat,
and put myself on the map here in TWE, because when it comes to the Cruiserweight division... LOST IS ALL!
Lost hands off the mic and removes his shirt, but out from behind the curtains comes a man wearing a black hooded jacket over his beard, menacing face, and he does not look amused by the words of Lost. This is Cain Windsor.
Cain Windsor vs. "Notorious" Robert Lost
Windsor went on the attack right away, showing his speed and agility and causing Lost to take pause and a step back, getting into the ropes and telling the ref to back the UK star up, taking his time to get back into this thing. Lost would manage to take Windsor down, and from there showed his skillset, grounding and pounding his opponent with punches, elbows, knees, and kicks, showboating as he did it and keeping the fans engaged. Lost would take things to the outside and continue with his martial arts inspired assault, but Windsor would manage to catch him with a Moonsault off the guardrail as a whip reversal to turn the tides, before coming off the apron with a Running Shooting Star Clothesline, getting a great pop from the crowd! Back inside, Windsor delivers a German Suplex, bridging it for just a two count. Windsor attempts to scoop up Lost and slam him, but Lost floats over it and catches him with a huge leaping Spinning Wheel Kick to the back of the head, which he follows up with a Butterfly Suplex he floats over into a pin attempt, but only a two count for Lost! Lost is infuriated by this, yelling at the referee, before getting rolled up by Windsor, but just a two count! Lost seems disoriented and Windsor rushes him and spins around him with a headscissors, planting him with a DDT! Lost is positioned near the buckles and Windsor heads up top, flying off with aerial excellence and delivering his Twist of Cain (Corkscrew Shooting Star Press), smashing Lost into the mat and getting the three count to advance in the tournament!
Windsor celebrates after the match, advancing in the tournament, but Lost attacks him from behind, delivering his finisher, the Lost Soul Driver (Fisherman's Driver), planting him down hard! Lost smiles over him, bad mouthing him and stomping him a few times for good measure as the fans boo and he makes his exit.
We go backstage, where Christina Mauro is standing in with Kyle Wilson, who looks less than pleased.
Mauro:
Tonight, Kyle, you're taking on a very tough and versatile competitor in Ryan "The Lion" Davidson. With the styles set to clash here, how do you plan to overcome your opponent tonight?
Wilson shakes his head, as if this was the stupidest thing he's ever been asked.
Wilson:
Christina, I fear no man and I've never backed down from a fight in my life! This pipsqueak loser Ryan Davidson may have won a couple of fans cause he beat up another runt nobody, but tonight, he's facing a man who's very driven and very dangerous. In fact, he's facing the most dangerous Kyle Wilson anybody has ever faced! Tonight, I am one step closer, Christina, ONE STEP CLOSER to getting that championship in my hands, putting it around my waist, and getting everything that comes with it. The money, the fame, and most importantly, the stability, because I'm fighting out here no for me, but for my family, for my livelihood and my future, and if Ryan Davidson or anybody tries to stop that, I'm going to stop THEM... PERMANENTLY! To answer your question, Christina, I'm going to whatever it takes, at any cost, to overcome my opponent tonight, whether I have to hurt him, whether I have to break him, whether I have to END him, I'm not losing sleep over it, and I'm definitely not losing this damn match!
With that, Wilson storms off to the right and we head to the ring.
Ryan "The Lion" Davidson vs. "The Antagonist" Kyle Wilson
Wilson comes across the ring fast to start, and Davidson looks like a cornered animal, trying to find his way out of the predicament caused by him being tormented by a man who outweighs him by 40 lbs. and is about four inches taller. Davidson tries to take Wilson down, but Wilson fights it and throws Davidson off, storming him with boots and choking him on the ropes, yelling expletives at him and telling him to stay down! The fans boo Wilson as he is backed off by the refs, smiling and mocking Davidson. Wilson tries to rush Davidson as he pulls himself up, but "The Lion" drops down and pulls the top rope with him, sending Wilson out hard! From there, Davidson runs off the ropes and then flies through them, catching Wilson with a Suicida Elbowstrike to wipe him out and take the advantage here! Davidson lights up Wilson with kicks and chops, before catching him with a Running Dropkick, smashing "The Antagonist" into the guardrail! Davidsonn sends Wilson back into the ring and then comes off the top with the Swandive Headbutt, connecting but only getting a two count! Davidson picks up Wilson and seems to be looking for a Fisherman's Suplex, but Wilson breaks free and delivers a MASSIVE Lifting Spinebuster, followed by a Sliding Lariat for a two count! Wilson calls for the end, tossing Davidson off the ropes and going for the Pop-Up Death Valley Driver, but Davidson reverses it, catching Wilson with a surprise Huracanrana, holding him down with a roll-up pin, and Davidson gets the win!
Davidson rolls out of the ring, jumping and cheering, yelling "WHOO! WHOO! WHOO!" as he celebrates up the ramp, getting the fans super into it, as Wilson can't believe it! Wilson takes a turn, blasting the referee and that's when Davidson runs back down and springboards off the top, catching Wilson with a Dropkick that sends him out of the ring! Davidson picks up the ref, and then threatens Wilson as he looks like he might come back in, and this sends Wilson retreating, obviously not wanting to continue this right now, but probably later.
Backstage, we see Jami Blain tying his boots, getting ready for action. Blair looks up and rests his arms on his knees.
Blair:
Nate Fatal, I heard you talking a bunch of smack earlier. You talked a lot about me like you know me, but Nate, what you're going to find out is there is no one like me. You're going to find out what all of these fans realized on day one, and that's Jami Blain is insane, and I will not be denied.
Blair stands up and walks off, ready for his quarter-final main event.
Jami Blain vs. Nate Fatal
Blain likes to do his little dancing and have a good time, but Nate Fatal wasn't impressed and showed him no respect. Fatal met Blain in the middle of the ring to exchange some trash talk before Fatal slapped Blain right across the face! Blain would answer back with a barrage of punches, followed by a whip and then a leg lariat, followed by a Springboard Corkscrew Senton from the middle rope, and after a short pose, a Standing Corkscrew Moonsault, which Blain would follow up with a pin attempt but Fatal would kick out! Williams notes that Blain has clearly taken the upperhand early, as Fatal rolls from the ring and looks like he is running for his life. Fatal is staggered and turns the corner, but Jami Blain runs and leaps off the middle rope again, this time flying OVER the ropes in a diagonal trajectory and wiping out Fatal on the outside with a Moonsault variation! The fans are going nuts as Jami taunts from the guardrail, motioning for them to get loud! Blain sends Fatal into the ring and then leaps up to the apron, posing before springboarding and trying for a Tornado DDT, but Fatal stops it mid-move and delivers a Northern Lights Suplex, which he rolls through and delivers a Superkick to a seated Blain! Fatal lifts up Blain, telling the fans to stick it you know where, before lifting Blain into a suplex position and then slingshotting Blain's legs off the top rope and pulling him over with a high velocity Falcon's Arrow! Fatal grabs the legs, trying to end things, but just a two count! Fatal gets up and taunts the fans, motioning for a Superkick, but Blain manages to catch Fatal mid-move and deliver a pull through leaping roundhouse kick, nearly knocking his teeth out! Blain rushes to the middle turnbuckle and showboats for the fans again, before leaping up and bouncing off the top turnbuckle, trying for a super high flying Guillotine Legdrop, but Fatal avoids it! Blain pulls himself up and turns around, getting clocked with the Superkick this time, laying him out in the center of the ring. From there, Fatal heads up top and poses for the fans before leaping off and delivering the Heartbreaker Elbowdrop! Mike Labonte notes that he caught him flush in the center of the chest, and now Fatal goes for the cover, but NO! Just a two count! Fatal can't believe it! Fatal lifts up Blain and grabs him by the head, as he tries to hit a Swinging variation of the Fatal Attraction off the ropes, but Blain shoves him away and then rushes him, delivering a High Boot to the face that flips Fatal completely backwards and face first on the mat! Blain is feeling it, pulling on the ropes and shaking them, telling the fans to come on! Blain stalks Fatal as he gets up and then runs off the ropes... and then the other ropes... he attempts Operation Ivy (Running Standing Shiranui), but Fatal runs as he approaches and disorients Blain, leaping off the middle rope and coming back, delivering a Springboard Fatal Attraction! Fatal sits on his chest and pulls up his leg, pinning him down for the three count and Nate Fatal advances in the Heavyweight title tournament!
Fatal celebrates by standing on the ropes, yelling, "That's one more down! Is that your hero!? I'm your hero! I AM PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING! I WILL BE CHAMPION!" He makes the "belt" motion around his waist as the fans boo and the show comes to an end.
