LIVE on NESN!Welcome to Salem MA for the BCCW Witching Hour! Tonight's free Prelims are supposed to center around the CELEBRATION of BCCW's victorious forces @ WWEFan "Battleground 5!" But shortly after the pyro, screaming fans and video recap of this historic occasion - BCCW GM Shane McMahon takes to the ring for a public toast, only to be interrupted by a foul-mouthed & disrespectful Kevin FN Owens! Kevin FN Owens vs. Shane McMahon takes place on the mic, and sparks fly both ways when KO wants more credit for the victory and hints at future retaliations to come. Of course Shane McMahon remains obstinate (no doubt buoyed by his million dollar victory @ "Battleground 5", and primed for his PPV match later this evening). But before KO can put his hands on Shane McMahon, he is attacked and chased from the ring by BOOKER T (2000)! The People's Champion and Public Enemy #1 brawl throughout the stands and into the backstage area! Oh my, let's get this party started right! BOOOOKAAAAH T is in the building to represent BCCW on the night of one of her greatest accomplishments - winning "Battleground 5" in Canada yesterday evening! There shall be nobody who can soil the celebratory mood of the evening! Especially not a vulgar loudmouth like Kevin FN Owens! BCCW! BCCW! BCCW!** cut 2 commercial ** __________________________________________________Alexa Bliss (2017) def. Alexxis Nevaeh (2007) [Woman's Bout] -- Debut match for Alexa Bliss in BCCW, and her victory comes at the expense of a BCCW Living Legend, Alexxis Nevaeh. Storyline once again accentuates the 3-on-2 advantage that Alexa Bliss and her Bella Twin "B.W.P." posse provides over poor Alexxis Nevaeh and her New England bestie Sasha Banks. Score another one for the bad girls! --** cut 2 commercial ** __________________________________________________ *NEW* Nikita Koloff def. Bobby Lashley (via DQ) [Heavyweight Grudge Match]-- "NEW" Nikita Koloff is a brainwashed Bray Wyatt acolyte sporting his new bushy beard, and the same type of brown coveralls as Erick Rowan (circa 2016). Bobby Lashley is the raging babyface hellbent on administering some street justice upon Nikita and the evil Wyatt cult. Nikita uses his newfound psychological calm & ring awareness to lull Lashley into a frenzy - and frame him for a steel chair assault he did not commit. The ref catches Lashley red-handed with the chair in hand and calls for the bell! Fiendish deviousness on exhibit from *NEW* Nikita Koloff tonight! --** cut 2 commercial ** __________________________________________________** BCCW 6-Man Tag Team Titles ** The New Day (2016) def. Beer Money Intl ©The Celebration is complete, when Big E. Langston's return from injury tonight helps spark his team to a triumphant victory! The New Day REGAIN their precious 6-man Tag Team straps in joyous fashion! Beer Money Intl is in disgrace! The big defining moment of the segment comes postmatch when JBL - in the throes of an embarrassing tantrum - demands a rematch and states that if Beer Money Intl can't regain the titles on American Election Day... THEY WILL QUIT BCCW FOREVER!! The crowd sings "naaah naaah naaah hey hey goodbye!", while The New Day call BCCW GM Shane McMahon back into the ring to finish our celebration! Happy Halloween!Winners (and *NEW* 3x 6-Man Tag Team Champions): THE NEW DAY (2016)!!BUY THE MUTHAPHUCKKIN PPV!! BCCW presents...
Halloween in Hell 2016 “Be silent in that solitude, Which is not loneliness—for then The spirits of the dead, who stood In life before thee, are again In death around thee, and their will Shall overshadow thee; be still.”-- From “Spirits of the Dead” by Edgar Allan Poe** cut 2 triumphant video package / pyro / screaming fans / "BCCW! BCCW! BCCW!" ** __________________________________________________** BCCW Flyweight Championship **
"American Wolf" Davey Richards © vs. BLKJeez vs. Art Barr [Gang Warfare Street Fight] versus versus Contemporary Events:Unrestrained gang violence has gripped BCCW, culminating in shots fired between BLKOut & Los Gringos Guerreros camps. Everybody is gunning for Davey Richards, who has raised the ire of his entire Flyweight division by chasing other titles. BLKJeez even went as far as creating his own "Interim" title (which was then stolen by Art Barr, leading to the aforementioned shootout). Finally Davey Richards returned to the scene like Clint Eastwood, determined to clean up the division once and for all. Gang Rulez apply. Match Template:Full-fledged Attitude-era opener that doesn't leave one stone unturned. Turnt up for the rowdy fans, reckless no-selling & violence, and a scantily-clad valet to boot (Shelly Martinez). In short - the perfect PPV opener. This is a sprinkle of "Richards vs. Edwards vs. Roderick Strong" from ROH Showdown in the Sun 2012 mixed with a dash of AAA & CZW / Urban Wrestling Federation ultra-violence. Davey Richards plays the "American Wolf" vigilante out for street-justice, and winds up serving both his opponents tonight. A precursor for the upcoming Triple Threat Double Title Match featuring two of Davey's stablemates later tonight (Rollins vs. Styles vs. Edwards later TONIGHT!) Winner (and *STILL* Flyweight Champion): "American Wolf" DAVEY RICHARDS** cut ** __________________________________________________Roman Reigns (2016) versus “Powerhouse” Frank Sexton (1946) [Heavyweight #1 Contender Bout] versus Contemporary Events:[Heel] Roman Reigns is the spoiled, entitled mercenary who almost single-handily jumpstarted the events between BCCW & WWE that would eventually lead to "Battleground 5". Reigns believes it his birthright to become World Champion, and is easily enraged when things aren't just handed to him. Both Reigns & Sexton were victorious in their Battleground bouts, thus heightening the sense of importance in this bout to solidify the BCCW Heavyweight hierarchy. In BCCW (as in real-life, it sometimes seems) Roman Reigns is universally-despised. In contrast, former 2x BCCW Heavyweight Champion Frank Sexton is loved & praised. Their bout tonight is a study in that ultimate crowd-control dichotomy. Match Template: Shades of "Bisping vs. Henderson 2" from UFC 204 in Manchester England. Sexton (like Bisping, the "babyface" in this equation tonight) weathers an incredible beating that busts his lips and blackens his eye. That "never say die" Depression-era attitude of Sexton is on full display tonight, like a Heavyweight Dolph Ziggler @ WWE No Mercy 2016. Roman Reigns is destined for another World title match against Brock Lesnar. But tonight, Romans pre-ordained coronation takes a sudden detour when "Powerhouse" Frank Sexton lurches from near defeat - reverses a Superman Punch into his own "TKO"-like signature - then ZAPS Reigns with a "Sedalis Cyclone!" 1! 2! 3! Reigns is out on his feet and left holding his jaw - a victim of his own hubris & underestimation! Winner (and Heavyweight #1 Contender): "Powerhouse" FRANK SEXTON** cut ** __________________________________________________** Xtreme Elimination Chamber! **Your boy MSD was in the house representing Boston & Mash-Up Wrestling at WWE "Hell in a Cell 2016" LIVE from Boston Garden aka my home turf. Make sure you follow #MashUpWrestling [click here] on Instagram and you can see some of the clips and vids from that night. In some lighthearted way, tonight's Xtreme Elimination Chamber match is a tribute to that WWE PPV, at which I had so much fun and made some new homies. This match is also a tribute to the "Broken Hardy" phenomenon that gripped us all and kept TNA on the map. Elaborate intro of the Broken Hardyz [BCCW debut!] is worth the price of admission alone. On with the presentation:ORDER of ENTRY:Broken Matt (2016) vs. Luke Harper (2016) start the match; with the rest of the combatants locked in their respective pods. A modern-day "Dream Match" (perhaps "Nightmare Match") of sorts, with Broken Matt Hardy and his ilk single-handily keeping TNA relevant & Luke Harper returning to prominent action at the end of WWE's "No Mercy 2016" PPV. The underground viral support for Broken Matt is amazing to witness for the first time (on the BCCW stage). 3) Acadian GiantMassive foreign Monster has been a menace to BCCW since his unleashing. Tonight is no different, as he hurls both Harper & Hardy about the steel cage with reckless abandon! It takes repeated Kendo stick shots (from Luke Harper) and Trashcan dropkicks (from Broken Matt) to even momentarily stun the big man. All the while Crusher Casey seethes in pod and focuses on the steel-willed task ahead of him... 4) Steve "Crusher" CaseySurprise! We don't even get the full timed interval before Casey's sudden entrance! Instead, after taking out both his opponents again, an irate Acadian Giant went nose-to-nose with Casey (through the pod walls) and wound up *smashing through the walls* in a frenzy! Acadian Giant smashes most of the pod walls to smithereens - allowing Casey to dramatically BURST THROUGH with one well-timed "Brogue Kick" to Acadian Giant's face! Steve Casey is "Ireland's Greatest Athlete" and one of BCCW's most stalwart defenders at the gate! He will battle Acadian Giant and his barbarian hordes to the end of the Earth!! 5) Brother NeroArguably even more popular than his already insanely-over brother Matt - enter Brother Nero the Obsolete Mule. Now the Xtreme Elimination Chamber party really starts cracking - literally - with the crowd chants of "WE WANT TABLES!" being answered! 6) Braun StrowmanThe last and most ominous entrant - big Braun Strowman is an immediate game-changing factor! His appearance is treated like Jaws or King Kong; just sheer absolute destruction. Weapons are in play! Monsters on the battlefield! This is BCCW! This is "Halloween in Hell 2016!" ORDER of ELIMINATION:1) Luke Harper [Tandem elimination from the Broken Hardyz - double top rope legdrops with steel chairs]2) Steve "Crusher" Casey [Choked unconscious with an American flag by the enraged Acadian Giant! Oh the horror!!]3) Acadian Giant [After a brief - yet intensely thrilling encounter with Braun Strowman, Acadian Giant is felled by a series of quick synchronized strikes from the Hardyz' and sneak-pinned with a flash! Acadian Giant can't believe his elimination, and takes out *two BCCW referees* in his postmatch rampage!]4) Braun Strowman [The Broken Hardyz used speed & finesse against Acadian Giant - and switch to more outright brawling, weapons & physicality to take on Braun Strowman. In the ultimate vindication of their angle together, the Hardyz defeat Braun Strowman with twin suicide dives (through a table) off the pod ceiling! The Broken Hardyz are in BCCW with a huge statement victory over their tormentors!]Winners: BROKEN HARDYZ!!** cut ** __________________________________________________STING (1997) versus Bray Wyatt (2016) [Heavyweight Bout]The celebration of the Broken Hardyz over the Wyatt's, and dismantling of the Elimination Chamber, draws forth BRAY WYATT from the nether-recesses of the arena. His dark & foreboding entrance culminates in a gothic monologue in which he demands his sacrifice "enter the light!" Sting's final climatic entrance is dazzlingly smoke & mirrors. After multiple teases & fake-outs designed to disorient Bray, Sting appears with his baseball bat of justice and wastes little time extracting vengeance! Short, violent and to the point - Sting (Mash-Up Wrestling's first Hall of Fame inductee) handles his business in accelerated fashion. Some portions may resemble "Wyatt vs. Orton" from No Mercy 2016, but there is no surprise ally to aid Bray tonight. His boys were decimated in the Chamber, allowing for Sting to exert his control over the match and drive Bray Wyatt into the mat with a "Scorpion Death Drop" for the pin! Good triumphs over Evil on Halloween Night! Winner: STING** cut to recap & commentator summary - Sting has no postmatch comments; disappearing back into the rafters instead **__________________________________________________

** BCCW TWO-TITLE DEFENSE (MW & TV titles) **
Seth Rollins (2016) vs. AJ Styles (2016) vs. "Diehard" Eddie Edwards (2016)In a night of triumph there of course must be some tragedy. As is typically the case in BCCW - the truth mirrors fact (just not exactly). Tonight, the "Curse of Rollins" is born. Picture a little "Rollins vs KO" from Hell in a Cell mixed with "Styles vs Cena vs Ambrose" from No Mercy 2016. As the undisputed modern-day Marathon Man of WWE programming (both Raw & Smackdown before the 2nd brand split), Seth Rollins has carried the WWE brand to new heights. This run was mirrored in BCCW by Seth winning both the Middleweight and Television titles. His magnificent marathon performances continued, and when put opposite other workrate magicians like Eddie Edwards & AJ Styles - the results have been magical. Then Rollins started potato'ing people (notably rearranging John Cena's face completely on one episode of WWE RAW), and drawing the ire of legends like Bret Hart. Tonight, the "Curse of Rollins" is complete when - during a routine double-suplex from the top rope spot - Seth Rollins completely dislocates & blows out his knee! The results are quickly evident - an audible is called - and both Edwards & AJ Styles manage to pin Seth Rollins at the exact same time!! After some mild confusion - and immediate storyline shift back to the "Bullet Proof" faction and tension between AJ Styles & Eddie Edwards (while an injured Seth Rollins is tended to and removed) - BOTH Styles & Edwards are declared champions! Winner (and *NEW* Television Champion): AJ Styles Winner (and *NEW* Middleweight Champ): "Diehard" Eddie Edwards! ** cut to recap & commentator summary / Eddie Edwards has some congratulatory postmatch comments for his stable mate, but AJ Styles declines comment and storms away! Some fans boo AJ Styles' poor reaction ** __________________________________________________Lou Thesz(1966) vs. Shane McMahon (2016) [Generational Grudge Match]Contemporary Events: More of that big fight feel from these two masters. Shades of Shane vs. Taker from WM32 for sheer spectacle alone. More MMA influenced than anything you'll see in a typical WWE match. This is Shane continuing to pull away from his family roots to prove his own worth in the business. Everybody knows tonight was supposed to be Thesz vs CM Punk II, but Punk pulled out citing irreconcilable creative differences. Shane stepped up to save the bout, prove himself and bet it all on BCCW again. His million dollar gamble paid off at Battleground 5, and he should be celebrating in style tonight. Instead Shane is defending his honor and reputation against one of the gravest killers in the game. Match Template: Thesz is clearly the better wrestler tonight, but Shane's daredevil antics help keep him alive. After resisting many holds and submission attempts, Shane eventually succumbs to a Thesz press / STF combo. He passes out in Thesz grip, forcing the referee to call for the bell. Winner (via ref stoppage): LOU THESZAftermath:Surprisingly the big story post match is Thesz sticking around while Shane is awakened, to offer his hard earned mutual respect! Wow, the wunderkind has lost this match but won the approval of a wrestling deity! Lou Thesz shakes Shane's hand and holds his arm aloft in a victory salute! Respect! This match is the story of BCCW in a nutshell! Beaten, tried, validated, victorious! We're still here! One of the few OG's still down since Day #1! BCCW beat the best @ "Battleground" & outlasted the rest! Much credit MUST be given to BCCW GM Shane McMahon! His postmatch standing ovation is widespread and very emotional. BCCW President Paul Bowser himself can even be spotted in the Presidential Suite saluting Shane O'Mac for his skills & sacrifice! This is just the beginning for BCCW! We're about to be BIGGER than EVER! Stay tuned!!!** cut to triumphant recap & commentator summary ** __________________________________________________** BCCW Heavyweight Championship **
John Cena (2016) © vs. Mil Muertes w/ Catrina (2016) versus w/ Speaking of "the BCCW story", nothing could be said without *THE MAN* in BCCW (and in fact, all of Boston Wrestling history) JOHN FN CENA. The long-tenured company centerpiece, franchise player and historic *SEVEN TIME* Heavyweight Champ! Not to mention former Mash-Up Wrestling WORLD CHAMPION, XPW Remixed Tag Champion & 15x WWE Champion. The platinum player who brought BCCW up from the underground, strapped the company to his back, and threw his 3's in the air for Boston everytime he stepped into a ring anywhere in the world. Tonight is a morality tale told in Horror movie fashion. Cena has been targeted in horrifying fashion by the returning Mil Muertes (with Catrina), who is deathly desperate to regain the Heavyweight strap he once held. Mil Muertes is a Lucha Underground creation who represents everything in that mythical production that has captured and hypnotized the minds of wrestling fans in the Know. The mysticism, energy and raw emotion of Lucha Underground is channeled through a series of groundbreaking vignettes - in this case revolving around the resurrection of Muertes & destruction of BCCW. John Cena is certainly no Prince Puma in terms of athleticism, but these two Heavyweights put on a battle tonight that is shocking (and gory) in its blatant brutality. If a Necro song took the form of a Lucha Underground wrestling match, this would be the result. In a deeper more metaphorical fashion, this bout serves three purposes: 1) Pay tribute to the beauty & mystique of Lucha Underground. A pro-wrestling product that has revolutionized the way we can view this great sport, and even gave birth to a proud Mash-Up Wrestling franchise in its likeness. See the Official Mash-Up Wrestling "Lucha Underground" roster right here. 2) Write Mil Muertes & Catrina out of BCCW with a BANG. This is their final appearance in BCCW (before self-destructing post match, including a vicious Tombstone piledriver from Muertes to Catrina that kills their relationship dead in the middle of the ring). But you couldn't ask for a better way to go out than bringing the face of BCCW to bloody Death's door. 3) Most importantly, show the universe once and for all WHO RULES THE WORLD of FIGHT-FICTION & FANTASY WRESTLING! Broken City Championship Wrestling! Victorious @ "Battleground!" The bodies & championships of a hundred defunct organizations lay at our feet! The most history! The most action! The most respect! The most JUICE! This is BCCW and we are KINGS of this multiverse!! Winner (and STILL Heavyweight Champion): JOHN CENA (2017)
STILL King of the Mash-Up Wrestling Universe: BCCW** cut to stunned commentator summary & gory recap ** __________________________________________________** WORLD Championship **
Brock Lesnar (2016) © vs. Ric Flair (1986) [Heavyweight Bout] versus Contemporary Events:Ric Flair is arguably the greatest wrestler of ALL TIME, and former Mash-Up Wrestling WORLD Champion (in addition to a bevy of local titles). Flair's Championship reign lasted for most of 2016, as he helped form various stables around the country to serve his interests. In the northeast corridor, Flair used the "Mount Rushmore of Mash-Up Wrestling" - a stable of like-minded business men who stalked their prey like carrion. Flair seemed to be in full control of the game as our jet-flying World Champion, until he ran into the STORM called "Brock Lesnar". After capturing the World title from Flair, Lesnar was quickly targeted by the Mount Rushmore cronies - and attacked at his hotel in a vicious gang assault. The beatdown served to weaken Lesnar going into this match, and actually shed some doubt upon his title defense. Pffffft. All for naught! The Beast swoops into "Halloween in Hell 2016" tonight - unloads Suplex City - fights off Flair's manager Strangler Lewis - and conquers in dominating fashion! The BEAST is the real dark cloud hovering over not only BCCW, but the entire Mash-Up Wrestling landscape! Beware the Beast! Quote BCCW, nevermore! Winner (and *STILL* WORLD Champion): BROCK LESNAR (2016)

With so many great dream matches packed into this one show, Halloween in Hell was more like Halloween in Heaven this year. It wasn't just that there were so many great fantasy wrestling matches, but also that the good guys almost always seemed to come out on top. It was a very happy Halloween, indeed, with The New Day regaining the 6-Man Tag Titles, Sting defeating Bray Wyatt and John Cena conquering over the Man of 1000 Deaths!
So things that surprised me: JBL puts the future of Beer Money on the line to get a re-match, the Hardyz are co-winners of the Elimination Chamber, Seth Rollins heads to the disabled list and relinquishes both titles all at once, and Lou Thesz shows Shane McMahon some well-deserved respect. Also, Roman Reigns lost to Frank Sexton. I thought Reigns was going straight to the top.
I loved the heck out of this show.
