Fénix defeated Psicosis, Matt Sydal and Son Havoc by pinfall in this show high-flying show opener that got the crowd chanting “This is Awesome!” on more than one occasion. A few minutes into the match, everyone took a turn diving to the outside in the floor entrance aisle. The big high-risk maneuvers didn’t end there. Back in the ring, Sydal gave Fénix the Shooting Sydal Press. Psicosis executed a wheelbarrow facebuster on Sydal and then executed the Senton Psicosis (springboard corkscrew senton). Son of Havoc gave Psicosis a Yakuza kick and then a corkscrew shooting star press. However, Fénix stopped him from registering the pinfall, gave him a superkick and then executed a corkscrew somersault senton to keep him on the mat for a 3-count.

Ivelisse defeated Cameron by pinfall. This was a pretty easy match for Ivelisse, who was never really in trouble of losing this match. Cameron got a few moves in, but it was Ivelisse who set the pace and won the match in just under 4-minutes. She hit Cameron with a middle rope springboard DDT and then finished her off with the Desert Eagle (sunset flip powerbomb).

Baron Corbin defeated Argenis by pinfall. The “Lone Wolf” of Lucha Underground came to the ring in a seriously foul mood and took out his frustrations at having been eliminated in the first round of the Lucha Underground Championship tournament on Argenis. Corbin took his small opponent out of the ring and tossed him into every wall he could find before bringing him back into the ring and giving him the End of Days to pick up the win.

We cut to a shot of the Lucha Underground locker room. Ivelisse is opening a locker. She wipes the sweat off of her face and neck. Paige appears, walking towards the locker with a gear bag in hand. They exchange a few words with Paige insinuating that Ivelisse could not beat her one-on-one (reference their recent 4-way dance). Ivelisse says she would take her on any time, then turns and throws her towel towards a used towel bin. It hits Victoria, who just happens to be walking by from the blind side at the wrong time. She gets pissed off and strikes Ivelisse, who fights back, but then Paige hits her from behind. The Lucha Underground Luchadoras Champion, Sexy Star, walks in from the training room and jumps in to help Ivelisse. Paige and Victoria back off and they both threaten to get back at Sexy Star.

Bayley, a favourite of the Believers in the Temple, comes to the ring and cuts a promo talking about her history with Awesome Kong, going back to their time in Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling. Bayley says that she won’t be bullied or pushed around by Awesome Kong anymore. So she challenges Awesome Kong to a match right here, right now!
VS.
Awesome Kong defeated Bayley by pinfall. BAwesome Kong came to the ring and accepted the challenge. Bayley put up a spirited fight against her, but ended up getting demolished anyway. On a few occasions, Bayley looked like she might pull off the victory, but she made the mistake of trying to execute a diving cross body on Kong, who countered the maneuver into a fall forward powerslam. Kong followed it up with a chokeslam and an Awesome Splash to get the win. Not happy to end it there, Kong brought Bayley outside of the ring and gave her a pair of powerbombs onto the hardwood play-by-play announcers table! After that, she took the microphone away from Melissa Santos, climbed back into the ring and warned the rest of the luchadoras that this is what happens when you try to stand up to Awesome Kong!
