At the beginning of the show, we enter Dario Cueto's office. Cueto is honoured that the lengendary "Classy" Freddie Blassie has stepped foot in his Temple. He wishes to know to what he owes this honour. Blassie tells Cueto that he discovered an incredible fighter on the streets of Boyle Heights, took him in, and had his trainers teach him the art of lucha libre. He says that he discovered a diamond in the rough - this kid is a prodigy, and he predicts that he is better than all of the other luchadores in the Temple. Cueto is intrigued and so he offers the sixteenth and final spot in the Lucha Underground Championship tournament to Blassie's prodigal luchador. Cueto asks Blassie for his name and he tells him that his name is Prince Puma. Before leaving, Cueto tells Blassie that if he fails to live up to the hype, then he won't be invited back to the Temple because only the best luchadores and luchadoras in the world are allowed to fight in here. Blassie tells him not to worry because Prince Puma is the best luchador in the world.

Samoa Joe easily defeated newcomer Son of Havoc by submission. Joe was in the driver’s seat from the opening to closing bells. Son of Havoc got a few moves in thanks to the element of surprise. Once, Joe whipped him and he did a neat shoulder slingshot bounce off of the top ring rope to hit Joe with a back elbow, which he followed up with a dropkick, then a standing somersault senton and a standing moonsault. However, Joe kicked out and quickly regaining control of the match with some vicious strikes, followed by the CCS enzuigiri kick. Not long after that, Joe put Son of Havoc in the Coquina Clutch to win the match.

Prince Puma defeated Big Ryck by pinfall. Accompanied to the ring by “Classy” Freddie Blassie, the lucha libre prodigy was too much for Big Ryck and The Crew to handle. Mr. Cisco and Castro Cortez got involved, but Puma battled them off and took advantage of a mistake when The Crew attempted to hit him with stereo superkicks. Puma used his cat-like speed to get out of the way, which caused them to nail Big Ryck. After sending both members of the Crew packing, Puma climbed the top rope and landed a 630-degree senton bomb on him to secure the win.

Chris Jericho defeated Matt Sydal by pinfall. In the last match of the evening, the cocky and brash self-proclaimed “Best in the World” at what he does got himself into serious trouble by showboating and flexing when pinning Sydal with a single foot on his chest. Sydal mounted a comeback by first getting his knees up on Jericho’s lionsault attempt and then giving him a superkick. Sydal grabbed the momentum and hit some very flashy moves to pop the crowd, including a standing moonsault, corkscrew plancha, springboard 450-degree splash that might have won the match had Jericho not been able to get a foot on the bottom rope. When Sydal went to the top rope to go for the Shooting Sydal Press, Jericho timed it just right to get up and give him a Codebreaker. That was all he needed to win the match.
