NWA Championship Wrestling from TBS Studios

The program kicks off in front of the classic NWA logo behind the studio desk with the announcing trio of Joey Styles, Les Thatcher & Mike Tenay. They welcome the fans to the first hour of the two-hour NWA program from Atlanta, Georgia. The tells the fans that 4 newly crowned United States champions (heavyweight, tag team, jr. heavyweight & women's) will be on hand today as will the new NWA World's Champion 'Handsome' Harley Race and the World Tag Team Champions ' Bruiser' Brody & Stan 'Lariat' Hansen.
They present a taped interview with the MSD World's Heavyweight Champion 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair following the Spring Stampede last Sunday night where he successfully defended the belt against NWA World's TV Champion Lex Luger in the main event.
First Hour Matches/Interviews
We go to the ring with smoking hot Mike McGuirk for our first match of the first hour.
Four Man Tag Team Match. The Bullet Club (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) debut & whipped the Party Boys (Davey & Johnny Rich) when Gallows pinned Johnny following the Magic Killer (aided snapped swinging neckbreaker). (7:19). During the match, Tammy Sytch & Terri Runnels were on opposite sides of the studio watching the Bullet Club.

Non-Title Four Man Tag Team Match United States Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) defeated the 'Wild Eyed' Southern Boys (Tracey Smotherns & Steve Armstrong) when Sabin hit the powerbomb on Johnny followed by the double knee backbreaker from Shelley. (6:59). During this match, Missy Hyatt was in the corner of the studio watching the new US Tag Team Champions in action.

Challenge Woman's Singles Match. MsChif by count out over Su Yung w/mgr. Missy Hyatt. MsChif spent most of the match chasing Yung around ringside until Hyatt got her back to the dressing room. This left McChif screaming like a banshee in the middle of the ring. (4:13).

Non-title Single Match. NWA United States Jr. Heavyweight Champ Ken Lucas went to a 10-minute time limit draw with Danny Hodge.

Before the beginning of the match, Joey showed the final seconds of the US Heavyweight Final Match from the PPV where Murdoch attacked Watts before the start of the match. The 'Cowboy' was ruled unable to continue minutes later as 'Dirty' Dusty Rhodes was awarded the belt.
Challenge Match. A bandaged 'Cowboy' Bill Watts went 'no contest' with 'Dirty' Dick Murdoch during a wild studio brawl that was broke up by ring officials & wrestlers. (4:11).

Second Hour Matches/Interviews
Non-Title Single Women's Match. United States Women's Champ Serena Deeb pinned Cherry Bomb w/husband Pepper Parks following the spear to the gut. (8:17).

Non-title Singles Match. United States Heavyweight Champ 'Dirty' Dusty Rhodes destroyed Pepper Parks (minus Cherry Bomb who was recovering from her brutal gut spear), finishing him off with a pair of bionic elbow drops. (5:55).

Non-title Four Man Tag Team Match. New NWA World Tag Team Champions 'Bruiser' Brody & Stan 'Lariat' Hansen crushed Simon Diamond & Johnny Swinger following Hansen's Lariat to the neck of Diamond. (7:33).
Following the match, the Minnesota Wrecking Crew hits the ring with a sneak attack on the new World Tag Team Champions. However, Brody & Hansen turn the attack around & chase the former champions back to the dressing room.

Non-Title Singles Match. New NWA World's Heavyweight Champ 'Handsome' Harley Race beat (Chall): Brian Lee following a headbutt from the second ring turnbuckle. (7:51).

NWA World's TV Title Match. (Champ): Lex Luger lost the belt to substitute (Chall): 'The Original Nature Boy' Buddy Rogers w/mgr. James J. Dillon (supporting bandages on his head).Rogers clipped Luger's left leg twice then put the figure-four leglock on for the win. Originally opponent 'Killer' Karl Kox was handed an envelope before the start of the match by Dillon then left the ring as Rogers showed up to take his place.
After the match, Rogers w/Dillon & the Anderson Brothers said he is going after Race & the NWA World's Heavyweight Belt but the TV title will satisfy him for right now. Dillon adds that they may be adding a new member to the Four Horsemen in the very near future.
Joey, Les, Mike (Tenay) & Mike (McGuirk) wrap up today's show & finish off with highlights from the matches from the PPV Spring Stampede last Sunday.
