NWA Championship Wrestling from TBS Studios

The program kicks off in front of the classic NWA logo behind the studio desk with the announcing trio of Joey Styles, Les Thatcher & Mike Tenay. They welcome the fans to the first hour of the two-hour NWA program from Atlanta, Georgia. The trio announce the next pay-per-view will be Spring Stampede Sunday night May 22 at the Omni in Atlanta. Scheduled to defend his the Mash-Up World's Heavyweight Championship will be 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair.
First Hour Matches/Interviews
We go to the ring with smoking-hot Mike McGuirk for our first match of the first hour.
Singles Match. Shane Douglas used the belly to belly suplex to defeat Brian Lee. (6:59).
Following the match, the trio air a match highlight from the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis (4-26) where 'Hot Stuff' Eddie GIlbert defeated 'King' Jerry Lawler in a Lights Out! Steel Cage Match following three consecutive pile drivers from Gilbert to Lawler. (7:11). Followed by taped interview with Gilbert.

Single Match. Chris Benoit took down Sam Houston with the Crippler Crossface. (7:13).

Four Man Tag Team Match. Demolition (Axe & Smash) destroyed The Party Boys (Davey & Johnny Rich) with the Demolition Decapitation (backbreaker then diving elbow drop combination) to set up Johnny for the pin. (5:44).

Single Match. NWA Women's World's Champion Asuka w/mgr. Sonny Onoo used the Kana Lock to defeat Renee Michelle. (5:32).

NWA World's TV Title Match. (Champ): Lex Luger won by disq. over (Chall:) Austin Aries w/mgr. Tammy Sytch. When Luger trapped Aries in the full nelson, Sytch ran in with spary & nailed Lex in the face with it, causing the disqualification by referee Brian Hilderbrand.

Second Hour Matches/Interviews
NWA World's Junior Heavyweight Champion Masahiro Chono w/mgr. Sonny Onoo pinned 'Hot Stuff' Eddie Gilbert following a kick to the side of the head. (8:55).

Single Match. 'Flying' Brian Pillman used the hangman's neckbreaker to beat Mike Rapada. (6:22).

Four Man Tornado Rules Team Match. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) w/mgr. Tammy Sytch went 'no contest' with the Rock N Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) after Fulton & Morton both shoved referee Charles Robinson causing the no contest ruling.

Non-Title Four Man Tag Team Match.'Bruiser' Brody & Stan 'Lariat' Hansen defeated the NWA World's Tag Team Champs the Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Gene & Ole Anderson) w/mgr. James J. Dillon. Brody shoved Ole into J.J. on the ring apron then pinned him while Hansen fought with Gene outside of the ring. (9;13).

Return Non-title single match. No Disq! Rule Waved. 'Handsome' Harley Race rolled up NWA World's Heavyweight Champ 'Original Nature Boy' Buddy Rogers w/mgr. James J. Dillon. (7:55). Once again, Race escaped Roger's figure-four leglock & caught Rogers coming off the rope & rolled him up for the victory. Following the match, the Anderson Brothers hit the ring & joined JJ & Rogers in attacking Race. Following them were Brody & Hansen who helped Race clear house..
Joey, Les, Mike (Tenay) & Mike (McGuirk) wrap up today's show reminding the fans to tune in next week for more NWA wrestling action including more information on the May 22 pay per view!!!
