NWA Championship Wrestling from TBS Studios
April 16, 2016
The program kicks off in front of the classic NWA logo behind the studio desk with the announcing trio of Joey Styles, Les Thatcher & Mike Tenay. They welcome the fans to the first hour of the two-hour NWA program from Atlanta, Georgia. The trio talk about the controversial win the MSD World's Heavyweight Champion 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair scored over NWA World's Heavyweight Champion 'Original Nature Boy' Buddy Rogers last night in Chicago. Well, controversial according to manager James J. Dillon & Rogers himself.
Coming out angrily is Dillon with the Four Horsemen (Rogers, World's Tag Team Champs The Anderson Brothers & The Miz). "Dillon says he doesn't want to single out anyone for a mistake -- but he will this time. NWA official Dave Hebner must be blind as a bat not to see Buddy Rogers' arm under the bottom ring rope. By the rules, that calls for a break between wrestlers but Mr. Hebner went on to count the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion's shoulders down for the 1-2-3 with Mr. Flair hanging onto the MSD World's Belt should belong to Mr. Rogers right now." The Horsemen all nod in agreement.
Thatcher then airs a video shot of Ric Flair following the match. 'Rogers, Dillon, you gave me a great match -- I admit that. But you failed to realize, I AM THE DIRTEST PLAYER IN THE GAME. Bar none including Buddy Rogers who has been know to break the rules or fail to show up for title defenses when the going got tough. And that is all the real MSD World's Heavyweight Champion has to say."
Rogers jumps right in. "This isn't over Ric Flair. Not as long as Buddy Rogers has a breath of life in him. And J.J., I do not want that incomptent Dave Hefner officiating any of my matches. Period." Dillon says he has already petitioned the officials to make sure another referee works Mr. Rogers matches.
Dillon says he wants to address another matter -- fellow manager Sonny Onoo. "The next time, Mr. Onoo, you ever put your hands on me -- it will be the last time." Ole Anderson chimes in saying they whipped the so called Asian Assassins in Chicago & out brawled them all the way back to the dressing room. Gene adds "When you play with the Minnesota Wrecking Crew, you're going to sent to the hospital."
