Samoa Joe is out to start our show. He’s in a bad mood. He’s in a killing mood and his target is Edge. Joe says that he had the match won. He had Rusev trapped in the Coquina Clutch and he was well on his way to victory until Edge rang the bell, making everyone in the ring think that the match was over. Then, he had to use interference and weapons to steal the victory. Joe says that Edge crossed a line and then he chose to keep going and now he’s going to have to die for committing his sins.
Suddenly, Rusev and Prince Nana come to the ring. They also have a problem with Edge, claiming that he stole the victory from Rusev, but they also have a problem with Samoa Joe claiming that he was seconds away from winning. They claim that Rusev did not give up and was destined to be the last man standing in that #1 contender’s match. Joe says that he has no time for their delusional rantings. The rhetoric gets increasingly heated until these two bitter foes start brawling. They hammer away at each other until Joe reverses a whip attempt and executes a Samoan drop. As Rusev gets back up. Joe prepares to put him in the Coquina Clutch, but he gets hit from behind by Prince Nana with the Bulgarian flag stick. Then, he receives a big jumping side kick and gets put in the Accolade until a number of officials can pry him off of Joe. Later in the evening, Ed Whalen and Vampiro reveal that Commissioner Billy Two Rivers has ordered up another match between Samoa Joe and Rusev for the Summer Showdown, only this time they’ll battle until there is only one man left standing.

Natalya Neidhart vs. Jazz
Natalya Neidhart and Jazz kick off tonight’s in-ring action with a stellar bout that sees them fight inside and out of the ring. Jazz gets the upper hand by living up to her moniker as the baddest bitch on the planet when she sends Natalya crashing into the ring steps and gives her a vertical suplex on the outside. She stays in control until she tries lifting Natalya up into the Bitch Clamp, but doesn’t quite have it cinched in and Natalya reverses into a victory roll that nearly wins the match. Off of the kick out, they get up and Natalya nearly takes off Jazz’s head with a Nattie by Nature discus clothesline. However, she’s unable to capitalize. When they both get up, they exchange punches and chops until Jazz lands a dropkick. She goes for an Irish whip, but Natalya reverses it and executes an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Natalya takes over on offense and rides a wave of momentum all the way into Sharpshooter, but Jazz powers her way to the ropes to force a break. They go back-and-forth for a few more momentums until a battle on the top turnbuckle ends with Natalya shoving Jazz to the mat. She waits for Jazz to get up and goes for a diving clothesline, but Jazz moves and executes a bridging German suplex for a two count. After that, she goes to pick up Natalya, but gets pulled into a small package. 1…2…3! Natalya comes away with the victory and Jazz has a post-match outburst that sees her argue that the referee made a fast count, tear apart the French announce team’s table, throw monitors around, flip the announce team’s table over and threaten to hurt somebody.
Official Decision: Natalya Neidhart wins by pinfall at 9:26
*Commercial Break 2*
Kaientai vs. Taz & Cesaro
The former North American Tag Team Champion, Taz and Cesaro, seem to be on a wicked streak of bad luck, which has been ongoing ever since they lost the titles. This match is no different. While most people would expect them to defeat Kaientai, the evil duo pull off the upset when Taka Michinoku reverses a whip from Cesaro, sending him into the ropes. Cesaro goes for a springboard spinning European uppercut, but Taka moves and Cesaro ends up nailing Taz, who was the legal man. This sets him up for a vicious crane kick from Sho Funaki, who then pins him for the win. After the match, Cesaro checks on his tag team partner, who pushes him away for a moment. Then, he apologizes and asks for a hand getting up. As soon as Cesaro has helped Taz up to his feet, he puts Cesaro in the Tazzmission until he passes out. Taz grabs a microphone and says that he’s sick and tired of Cesaro fucking up all of the time. Now, he’s going to go it alone because he can’t trust anyone to pull their own weight in a tag team match. AGPW has been put on notice: the most miserable man on the planet will take on everybody, but nobody will survive. As he walks away from the ring, Cesaro starts to get up, grabs the microphone and steps him by telling him that if he wants a fight, he’s got one at the Summer Showdown!
Official Decision: Kaientai wins by pinfall at 5:58
*Commercial Break 3*
Matt Sydal vs. “Killer” Karl Krupp
When last we saw “Killer” Karl Krupp, he was speared through the ringside barricade by Cuban Assassin. He appears to have recovered from that encounter and starts this match off with the advantage. Matt Sydal gives up a lot of size to Krupp, which is why he takes a beating early on, as Krupp is deceptively quick and just grounds and pounds Sydal, who just has to hope that he can weather the storm. Fortunately, he finds a way to buy him some time after he’s whipped into a corner. Krupp tries to charge at him from the opposite corner, but runs full steam into a superkick. When they both get back to their feet, Sydal uses his quickness to hit Krupp with a variety of moves and he runs back and forth from the ropes to the centre of the ring to hit Krupp. Sydal gets Krupp down and sets up for the Shooting Sydal Press, but ends up landing on Krupp’s knees. From there, Krupp applies the Iron Claw to collect the win. After the match, Krupp grabs a microphone and says that Cuban Assassin was supposed to face him in a rematch, but he didn’t show up tonight because he is a coward and he challenges him to come to the Summer Showdown to prove him wrong.
Official Decision: “Killer” Karl Krupp wins by submission at 6:24
*Commercial Break 4*
Charlotte Flair & Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong & Ivelisse Vélez
Charlotte Flair will defend the Women’s Championship against the former champion, Awesome Kong, at Summer Showdown. Flair won the title in a 6-woman ladder match. You can count on one hand the number of times that Awesome Kong has lost a match in AGPW. However, there is no way to count the number of times she has been pinned or submitted. All of her losses came in matches where she did not have to be pinned or submitted. She’s made a point of bringing this up to tell Flair that her title reign will be short lived. Tonight, they meet in tag team action before facing each other at Summer Showdown. Flair has Kong’s real life arch nemesis, Gail Kim, on her team, while Awesome Kong has the baddest bitch on the planet (the one not named Jazz) on her side. This is a great match that sees everyone get their offense in. Flair and Kong battle briefly in the match and both of them get some moves in on the other. Flair and Kim appear to work better was a duo. Their best teamwork comes when they both kick their way out of a possible double chokeslam and counter with a double suplex on Kong, no doubt saving themselves from losing. A few minutes later, with all four women in the ring, Flair and Kim double dropkick Kong out of the ring. Then Kim takes her down with a slingshot plancha as Flair executes the Natural Selection on Ivelisse and pins her for the win. Kong makes sure to remind Flair that while her team may have lost, Kong remains unpinned and not submitted and says that she’ll stay that way forever, which is why she’s taking her title back at Summer Showdown.
Official Decision: Charlotte Flair & Gail Kim win by pinfall at 11:32
*Commercial Break 5*
“Macho Man” Randy Savage vs. Johnny Devine
“Macho Man” Randy Savage has no trouble winning this contest. Johnny Devine gets in a few high spots because that’s what he’s paid to do. However, he’s no competition for the Macho Man, who wins this match easily in under 5 minutes, sealing the win with the diving elbow drop.
Official Decision: “Macho Man” Randy Savage wins by pinfall at 4:42
As the Macho Man is celebrating his win, from seemingly out of nowhere, he is attacked from behind by “The Animal” Batista! Batista does an absolute number on him, clubbing him with a stiff clothesline, driving his shoulder into the Macho Man’s abdomine over and over in the corner, giving him a hard spinebuster and finishing him off with a Batista Bomb! After Batista has finished slaughtering him, he’s joined in the ring by the Sensational Queen Sherri who crowns Batista the King of the Animal Kingdom.
*Commercial Break 6*
On the other side of the commercial break, we return to a frantic scene of the Macho Man tearing the backstage area apart while calling out for Sherri and Batista. Officials are trying to get him to stop, but they keep a safe distance. Commissioner Billy Two Rivers shows up on the scene to try to restore some order and he does just that by telling Macho Man that he can have his revenge in a match against Batista at AGPW’s Summer Showdown.
Rhino vs. Jacques Rougeau
Four weeks ago, the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers cut a scathing promo on Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan, which prompted Petey Williams and Rhino to come out and defend their home cities. They had a match that Williams and Rhino won. Two weeks later, Raymond Rougeau fought Petey Williams in singles action to prove that he couldn’t beat a Rougeau when he knew who his opponent was beforehand. Raymond won the match, but only by pulling on Williams’ tights on a school-boy roll-up. To add insult to injury, the Rougeaus attacked Williams after the match. Now, Rhino and Jacques Rougeau battle. Jacques claims that he can defeat Rhino one-on-one when the match isn’t booked on the fly. Sure enough, in the end, he pulls off the victory. Rhino sets up for the GORE! However, Raymond grabs his foot to stop him from running. When he’s stuck in the corner, Jacques runs over and gives him a stinger splash and then executes a two-handed sit-out chokeslam to win the match. After the match, the Rougeaus put the boots to Rhino and get ready to give him La Bombe de Rougeau, but Petey Williams runs out and shoves Jacques off of the turnbuckle, sending him crashing into the guardrail. Then, he gets into a fight with Raymond, which ends with Williams giving him the Canadian Destroyer!
Official Decision: Jacques Rougeau wins by pinfall at 6:48
*Commercial Break 7*
Bret Hart & Billy Watson vs. Edge & Christian
This is an historic main event tag team match featuring four of the most decorated Canadian professional wrestlers of all-time. Arguably the best wrestler of the modern era of professional wrestling teams with the best Canadian wrestler from the territories era to compete against one of the greatest tag teams of all-time (easily the best Canadian tag team ever). This lengthy match sees both teams get their fair share of time with the advantage on their side. Early on, Christian is dominated by Hart and Watson, but later on the International Heavyweight Champion plays the role of the face-in-peril. Hart rebounds from a long turn getting beaten up by ducking a double team clothesline attempt and then taking Edge and Christian down with a double Hart Attack! When he gets up, he launches Christian over the top rope with a back body drop and then side steps an attack from Edge and gives him a side Russian legsweep. After that he manages to crawl to his corner to make the hot tag. Watson comes into the contest and goes on a tear, but when he tries to finish it with the Canuck Commando Unconscious sleeperhold, Christian breaks it up by giving him a falling reverse DDT. The pace picks up after Edge tags out and Christian and Watson go back and forth on offense. Christian nearly wins the match when he hits a spear from out of nowhere, but Hart breaks up the pinfall. A brawl ensues and as Edge and Christian double team Hart, Watson comes to and grabs Christian from behind, lifting him into a torture rack! Trish Stratus provides a distraction so that the referee can’t see Christian submitting and it buys Edge just enough time to spear Watson out of his boots! After that, he puts Christian on top of Watson and then fends off Hart as the referee counts to three. Edge and Christian win, proving once again that they are the best tag team that Canada has to offer. Offer can they both beat Hart and Watson in singles competition? Tune into AGPW’s Summer Showdown to find out!
Official Decision: Edge & Christian win by pinfall at 13:47
